Skeleton Problems - Can anyone help?

So I'm trying to figure out a problem running mods. Something is interfering with the skeleton on my Skyrim, and I have tried to uninstall, reinstall, remove items, etc but nothing really explains what it is going on with it. I keep getting this error: Skyrim has crashed due to a missing NiNode. This could indicate an incompatible skeleton, make sure you: 1. Have XPMS Skeleton Installed. 2. Don't have another skeleton overwrite XPMS in your mod manager. 3. Have run FNIS. I have double checked and triple checked all of these things. And removing mods one by one isn't explaining it either.

The crash only happens after I try to try to change the character gender from male -> female. This is when starting a brand new game.

Any suggestions? I'm currently using Mod Organizer.

Install order would be helpful. Load order is irrelevant in this case, and yours doesn't mention xpms(e) anywhere. If xpms is installed, try xpmse. If xpmse is installed and doesn't have a green + only, it means it's overwritten.

I'm having the same issue but I already have XP32MSE installed. I've also run LOOT and wrye and FNIS for Users.

Did you install SOS? If you have SOS installed after Xp32/XPMSE, TBBP etc. , the skeleton will be overwritten - and voila as Female instant CTD, if your mesh has bones for Breast / Butt etc.
So - install xpmse (or what ever) again.

I've reinstalled XP32MSE several times. I made sure that it overrides SOS. what do you mean 'bones for Breast/Butt. I'm showing my load list.

Are you saying that you get the same error messages or just that you have a problem with the skeleton?

When the game freezes I have th ctr-alt-delete to open another window and there is a warning window saying that a NiNode is missing.

and did you tried making sure sos skeleton overwrite xp32?

if sos come with a skeleton, there's probably a reason (the cock bones?)

it come with a female skeleton? doubt there's no butt or bone bones with it (or that mean you can't use tbbp armor with sos)

if sos have a female skeleton, that's to load a cock on female?

what happen if you load a cock on a female that don't have bones for cock in its skeleton? ctd

if this have something to do with sos, since nobody can guess that from a useless error message that don't say skyrim have crash because it wasn't able to load x.nif because something (all those problems because bethesda have remove that before releasing the game, because we have no use for it... oh wait you can replace files to get those crashs)

XPMSE already has all the bones for SOS (for a long time).

But Skeleton of SOS is still "as before"

What is the message from FNIS - you run FNIS after reinstall - or not?

@Nazzzgul666: Sometimes I wish I was as cold as you  ;)

Hard training. :D I don't see the point in repeating myself in detail if i already gave a more detailed explanation in the very same thread 2-3 posts above - if that isn't read i'm not really motivated.

Welp I reinstalled skyrim and installed the minimum of mods needed for Slaverun and it still crashes when I enter Dragonsreach after talking with Bellamy. I did make sure to install XP32MSE last and made sure that It overwrote any existing files. An I did make sure to fun LOOT and FNIS.

So, in other words, it appears that your problem is nothing like the OP's.

Has it occurred to you that your game may not be able to handle the extra NPCs which SR puts in Dragonreach?

It had worked before. I had to reinstall my OS from scratch and installed everything the same as before. I'm just wondering if there is an issue with the files pertaining with Dragonsreach when whiterun becomes slaverun.

Apologies for necro'ing the thread, but I'm getting the same error message

and I've been looking for a few hours no with no success, this thread is the closest I've found and I dont want to waste another on a niche issue

The thing is, the error message only comes up when I try to load into whiterun, either by using fast travel, going through the main gate, or player.moveto-ing to dragonsreach and exiting there. Every other city works fine

I have XPMSE, and I've installed just XPMS and disabled XPMSE to try that. Neither solve the problem

I've run FNIS and the following comes up

First things first. Uninstall the RydinAnimationPack. This should get rid of the missing files messages.

Second. Where your FNIS reads:

it should read

Skeleton(hkx) female: XPMS2HDT (126 bones)   male: XPMS2HDT (126 bones)

I'm not convinced this would cause the message from Crash Fixes but you never know.

Third. Make sure that the rule you created in Vortex has XMPSE loading AFTER anything and everything else. [Unless you run MNC in which case MNC goes last].

Fourth. Have you tried entering/leaving any other busy city, e.g. Solitude?

Fifth. If you can get in and out of other cities etc. then what is different about Whiterun? Could be virtually anything - a follower, an outfit, a weapon, a building, a plant, etc, etc.

Uninstalled and gave it a try, no dice. I'll keep it uninstalled until I get this figured out

How do I go about fixing this? I'm ignorant af about modding

I would bet 80% that this is the problem; how do I go about manually changing the load order in Vortex?

I've traveled to every city in the game except Winterhold, the game works fine for all of them except Whiterun

No idea. I'd copy and paste a mod list but I can't figure out how do do that. Theres around 20-30 though, and nothing that causes framerate drop at any point. Except framerate drop to zero outside the goddamn main game hub.

Thanks again for the reply, I appreciate any help I get.

Well if it is only Whiterun then it is unlikely to be the skeleton as that would affect everyone.

It's not the load order as such.

Note XPMSE at the bottom of the image. Click on the green (or red) lightning bolt.

Note that XPMSE is after everything except (in my case) ABC and MNC. Use the drop down box to change them and then save. If you don't use ABC or MNC then you can just use the 'After All'

1086447182_Vortex8.thumb.jpg.0d08cac30f127efc85b715d0f073c415.jpg

I'm not sure if that will change the bone count in FNIS but that is how you create rules in Vortex.

Getting a load order print out from Vortex is a pain. It keeps the text file in a hidden folder set several folders deep.
