Zydar Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 I was thinking on going through SL content with Oldrim again when I heard this, really sweeten the idea. You need to sign in to Window Insider build if you want the fix now tho.

You need to sign in to Window Insider build if you want the fix now tho. the idea it may be buggy kinda freaks me out though.... Don't want any corrupt files or such. Its more then just buggy. The main issue for me, is that the vast majority of things you can turn off in regular win 10 can't be turned off in insider version, and you are logged onto your MS account non-stop while using it, so can't even have a seperate non-admin login, well, you can, but its pointless to use it cause of the former. + you get MS telementry, + all their marketing trackers + all the "targeted" advertising, + any viruses and bunch of malware from any adverts that they didn't test / screen properly (which is a huge, gigantic amount), +MS store and Xbox crap forced down your throat constantly. So while its great news and I am waiting on it, I will not be joining the insider program just for that.

The best news is the fall creation update. Now we have a date.
dobmc Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Personally won't be participating in the Insider program but this great news regardless. Fucking finally. Though to be honest you have to actually try to hit the limit to begin with.
smokeybear187 Posted June 29, 2017 Author Posted June 29, 2017 Ha. That limit was easy enough to hit.
Zydar Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Just read that reddit post again, projected release date for public is in the Fall Creator update this year. With Steam sales going on, I think I can wait while playing the backlogs I have. That or drafting a modlist for your Skyrim experience. I personally hit the 3.9GB limit easily, its why I bought a 390 (coming from 5850) before going for Skylake.
smokeybear187 Posted June 30, 2017 Author Posted June 30, 2017 I came from an amd a10 with integrated graphics to a I7 6700k with a 1070. Needless to say, when i first started adding textures i easily hit 4.5 to 4.7gb very fast. Toned it a back allot but I'm l looking forward too the fall update.
NisaK Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 So psyched for this, going to wait for normal win10 release though. Have a feeling insider will lack my security options that I enjoy (can't stand ads going through my OS of all things :C )
Pink Blossom Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Does this mean no more frame drops on high-machine?? It's a serios question I don't know
guk Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Does this mean no more frame drops on high-machine?? It's a serios question I don't know Lots of people are certainly curious about this. Skyrim is just all over the place on Windows 10. - CTDs - inexplicable FPS drops - landscape not switching from LOD to regular textures - CTDs - more CTDs It's just ridiculous, sometimes the game even crashes when you're alone in a zone like Aibellia Island doing nothing at all. Not sure if lifting the 4064MB limit will fix all of this, the CTDs due to memory shortage should probably disappear and allow to stuff everything with 4-8K textures again (not for stable gameplay though).
yatol Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 - CTDs - inexplicable FPS drops - landscape not switching from LOD to regular textures - CTDs - more CTDs It's just ridiculous, sometimes the game even crashes when you're alone in a zone like Aibellia Island doing nothing at all. not because you do nothing your mods do nothing and you fps drop isn't inexplicable either you never saw that? because that's behind the wall, or in the house near, or whatever you still render it, even if it's useless to render a wall behind that wall that, you can see in game he didn't bother merging the verticles after copy paste meshe 1 meshe 2 meshe 1 meshe 2 meshe 1 meshe 2 meshe 1... everytime you move the camera another copy paste fail he duplicate meshe 1 to move it near wops, that don't fit, time to switch to another meshe, ctrl z one ctrl z move back the meshe on meshe 1, one more ctrl z to cancel the duplicate he only did one so you have a meshe 1 on another meshe 1 (nifskope can find that) there's this too skyrim was released unfinished they left some stuff in the esm, and put some unfinished files in the bsa, to finish with a patch still waiting for that patch (they didn't bother finishing the game with their nothing special edition either, windhelm arena, carriage under attack, catching fish with a rod instead of your hands, the counter attack of the civil war losing camp...) and since it was done fast and crappy to somehow get it working for the release, it wasn't optimised

Because most game engines will detect and not render tings that can't be seen, though I don't know if skyrim does that.
lewd123 Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 Super FYI: The same build that fixes the memory limit breaks Mod Organizer. Tannin has suggested a fix though, so either the full Fall Creators Update won't have the same problem or someone with the relevant skills will implement his suggested fix when it rolls out.

yatol Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 Are you sure it's being rendered? Because most game engines will detect and not render tings that can't be seen, though I don't know if skyrim does that. that's done by putting occlusion lanes (to not render stuff behind them) parents (y won't load if x isn't load) plane marker (or box or whatever it is) ... there's a mod that do that to interior on nexus if that mod was made, it's because bethesda didn't bother doing it rendering useless stuff isn't the biggest problem in city anyway if you look at a transparent wall that clip with the palace wall pouf, bye bye the palace (most of it, there's still the door and a few things left) 2.3 more fps without that palace? most of its textures are still in the ram, it's used by the other buildings the nif is nothing, 2 mb (vanilla armors with unp it's about 1 mb) most of those 2.3 fps are maybe collision (palace collide with the ground, city wall, building you can now see on the left...)

I've tried looking on Nexus but I'm not sure which one you're talking about. Thanks in advance.
Silvist Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 I would be very careful about jumping into the insider program. I made a mistake of jumping in as soon as I saw the post about it on ENBdev. I ended up having to wipe my hd, and revert back to the non insider version (thankfully I don't install games on or save personal data on my win drive). So if you plan to "test this" make sure you do so on a separate partition or vbox it. Also, its a pain to actually find the correct insider build. Every time I refreshed my win update, I would find a different build they wanted me to test. Considering when that information was put up on reddit, at least 10+ new builds have been out. From what I've read; people are still experiencing some other issues even after the vram limit was removed. The entire reason they put a limit in the first place is because they couldn't figure out what the fuck was wrong with it. Go figure how win 7 doesn't have the issue, but win 8 and 10 do.
PubliusNV Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/32505/? Thanks very much.
