How do you guys make your characters look great outdoors?

For me the look fine indoors near a light source.

Depends a bit what the problem is with your outdoors shots. One thing that always used to bother me was the overly bright HDR lighting. But since I started using All Natural for weather' date=' it's been a lot better and has more variation. Many people use self-shadows, but personally I find them awful. You can also do a lot of tweaking with the image itself, in GIMP or photoshop or whatever you use. Oh and a good tip for situations where you can't get proper lighting: Screenshooter's Illumination. It adds a bunch of crystals you can drop which give light in a wide selection of colours.

Thanks for the tips and the link, will try asap. As for my problem it's always been the HDR lighting.

So I made a new main character because being at the top of multiple factions got boring. And like almost everybody I make, he seems to be unable to afford shoes.

But anyway, this is a cautionary tale! See, you kidnap a faithful wife (if you must know, that's Carmana Sintav... don't ask, I just have a thing for her) and turn her into your sexual slave, taking every opportunity to knock her up as a means to completely humiliate and dehumanize her... and then...

... you get quintuplets and a sixth, unique child. Now he's gonna have to work his ass off climbing to the top of multiple factions just to support all of those cute little ones.

Of course, the moral sort of falls flat on its face, because it's not like I would complain about a free harem of little schoolgirl uniform clad cuties.

Lol, it may be wise to look into using protection ;)

Also, those are some awesome toes! I'd comment on the rest of your character, but I can't see it because if this annoying chunk of metal that gets in the way.

Since I use standard male Imperials for my primary character (always have since Morrowind), you're not missing much in the way of character looks. if anything, armor makes them look more interesting.

Aww, no love for the character generator? I couldn't play like that myself. Also, helmets are a big nono for me. I love to mess around with the sliders and make interesting new faces, and once I'm done, I wanna be able to see them. To each his own, though. There's so many ways to play this game.

I don't mess around with the looks of male characters, but when I make a female I spend more time playing with the way they look.

BUT ANYWAY, having decided to stop being such a wife stealing, out of wedlock baby making cad, Aeolus (my character) felt a powerful desire to settle down. And so he found a lovely young lass whom he fell for and asked her for her hand in marriage.

Delighted, she accepted! And so, taking off his helmet (!!!), the brave hero took his bride into his arms and left the chapel...

... and by the looks of it, he wants the honeymoon to start RIGHT NOW.

I wanted this to be Carmana so much, but alas the game didn't want let me have my dream come true, so I had to pick another.

Here's my latest Lop Eared Dark Elf, Aeryn. Textures are my own edits of Krista's High Res Face and Luchaire's Body Seam Reducer. Took a lot of tweaking the colours and squinting at the textures to get them to match as close as I could. Too bad a tiny gap in the mesh gives it away.

Latest version of my Paladin character, custom human race in my own personal stand-alone cosmetics mod. Now using mega oppai Leina armor.

Combination of MBP "Human" face, heavily altered "imperial tanlines" body texture, XEO face mesh, XEO eyes. SKS Hair, 100% gloss on head mesh and all body/armors, and of course using the "oily" _n files from the chocolate elf mod.
