XcOm04au Posted March 24, 2017 Author Posted March 24, 2017 I am assuming it works as NPC, player.placeatme xxxxxxxxxx and also PC (racemenu change race)?
wishnot4 Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Yes though the NPC's are as basic as you can get.
XcOm04au Posted March 24, 2017 Author Posted March 24, 2017 then I dont think the issues you put forward are that big a deal at the moment. It will be glorious when it fully work but I think getting it as an NPC just to start with for the time being is so awesome in itself!
wishnot4 Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Okay then. I'm going to do something now that Spike might not like. This is pre-alpha release of the centaurs. Once I hear back from Spike, the actual alpha release will most likely happen, but I'm more than ready for everone to actually start getting a taste of this mod. A warrening, there are still lots of bugs. First, I am only one guy and there are so so many animations to make that I've only made about 100 so far. So, there will be lots of times that the centaurs' horse half goes static. And you can play as a centaur, with the aforementioned issues. I think they actually fall on camera placement in the skeleton as well as the fact that I haven't made a first person version of the skeleton yet. Anyway, here it is guys, please be kind.  Edit: Now that the official alpha release has been posted, I've removed the download from this post. Here is the link. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/83640/?
lurkeylurkinglurker Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 Just finished trying it out and it looks very promising. I'm surprised you were able to pull this off! Keep up the great work! Â (As a side note: are you aware of a bug while slowly turning right with a single weapon in hand that causes the camera to slightly bug out. Very early alpha so that is to be expected; just telling in case you hadn't seen that.)
MadMansGun Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 the horse part is not showing up for me, but i am assuming it's because of the body mods i am using. i'll look more into it later. Â

XcOm04au Posted March 25, 2017 Author Posted March 25, 2017 btw, for female, I found that amputee mod work with taking the human legs away then the human half and the horse parts marry up pretty nicely I have placed the download on page 1, first post, of this thread for easy access  Also the mod looks promising  Edit: While I was recording I noticed that the walk animation looks a little off. What I mean is - right arms swings at the same time the horse's front right leg swings forward. Should it be like this?

That's weird. Might be because you have something taking up armor slot 40, I figured using the tail slot made the most sense.  btw, for female, I found that amputee mod work with taking the human legs away then the human half and the horse parts marry up pretty nicely I have placed the download on page 1, first post, of this thread for easy access  Also the mod looks promising  Edit: While I was recording I noticed that the walk animation looks a little off. Should it be like this?  Interesting, I've never used the amputee mod, I may check it out and see if I can incorporate their technique into our centaurs. It is cool that you placed the download on the first post, but when the actual alpha release is out, I intend to remove this version. What I'll do is swap the download out for a link to the mod page. The walk may be off, but I am one of the most subpar animators out there, so I just merged the human walk forward with the horse walk forward. It probably won't look perfect, but it is the easiest and quickest way to maximize the number of animations I can produce.  I'm glad so many people are enjoying our mod. Hopefully, I will have another 100 animations done by the end of next month.
XcOm04au Posted March 25, 2017 Author Posted March 25, 2017 Hey man, you are awesome, I hope any of these helpful suggestions we are all making aren't taken to heart, I guess we all just really want to be involved and help in anyway We all wish you guys luck on your many projects !
wishnot4 Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Hey, does anyone have a good version of HCT 2011.2? It seems that I've messed up my version that I had. Now every time I try to export an animation it tells me failed to write to platform. Without a working HCT, I can't make animations for the centaurs, so it's very important.

wishnot4 Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 I've already re-installed HCT twice now. But I haven't tried the antivirus check yet. I'll give that a shot. Â Edit: OK well this last suggestion didn't work. But while I had already tried exporting it to different file directories I hadn't tried exporting it to my rig text folder. It worked when I did that, which is weird because before the reformatting it wouldn't export to that folder. Whatever works though right?
wishnot4 Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Back in the animation saddle. I made 3 new animations. Hopefully, I can keep up the rate.   Edit: Knocked another 3 animations out today. Almost didn't. I had to skip the get-up from back and get-up from front animations. I have no clue how to make those animations look good for a centaur. Any thoughts?
D C Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Again, remember the video i said , make the animation a bit slow and it will be perfect
XcOm04au Posted March 30, 2017 Author Posted March 30, 2017 check out how a horse get up from when it is on its side
ingeloak Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017  It seems for some reason when the centaur runs it is in slow motion. i dont know if this has any bearing in Skyrim, but in World of Warcraft (and other MMOs) player characters have a normalized "speed over ground." if they are larger than a "standard" race the animations look slower, because although they have longer strides, they still only move so fast on foot. smaller races such as gnomes and dwarves have a faster appearing stride, or else their strides seem to float them over the ground a little.

Thanks for the insight.

Thanks for the insight.   best way i can see to test this is to have the centaur run next to an NPC, and see if they move the same speed. that said, Skyrim's horses seem to be very slow unless they are custom mods. followers on foot can almost keep up when sprinting.  (Valdmire Castle's Sabbath mount is very fast by comparison. none of the vanilla horses can keep up except possibly Shadowmere)
wishnot4 Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 Good thinking, I'll suggest the test to Spike to see if it's something like that.
