A Return To Form

Recommended Posts

For the past month the site has parted with adult ads in favor of more work safe ads and in addition enforced new rules regarding pornographic avatars and signatures as a result.

The reasoning behind this was to attract more people that would otherwise have been hesitant to visiting because we're "Just that sex mod site;" thus missing out on many of the other great mods and fantastically helpful community.

Unfortunately, this new direction proved unsustainable, LoversLab is an expensive endeavor to run and so viable ads are a necessity the maintenance of the site.

No regular ad providers are willing to advertise here due to our primary subject topic of sex mods, no matter how much we "clean" up the face of the site.

So what now? Adult mods are our roots, and I won't ever betray that core pillar of our site. So the only course of action available to me that allows the continued health of the site is a return to pornographic ads.

"But wait! Pornographic ads are against everything you said about making the site more appealing to a wider audience!" I know this, but I value the community we do have, and I'd sooner not lose it to blind idealism. In order to stay in line with this, a few other things will return to normal as well.

The signature and avatar rule regarding pornography is now gone, you are now free to sex it up in your signature and avatars to your hearts content. The only thing we ask is that you avoid hardcore fetishism that might offend the average viewer.

I welcome any and all feedback/suggestions for the site, never hesitate to let me know you hate something or would like something to change, I'm always open to it.

TL;DR: Ads returning, signature and avatar pornography rules being relaxed. Basically back to how the site was not but 2 months ago.

I agree on ashal. Its either no LL or ads with LL. Thanks for keeping the site alive and kicking green alien man.

Out of topic, not saying names but a person left LL too early and did not get to see this and stay lol.

Ah, just asked a question about this in another thread when I saw the ads pop back up. Never mind that post. :P I'm not sure as to the costs associated with running a site like this. Is there a viable subscription/donation option?

I appreciate you doing all the work Ashal. It's nice to have a forum like this with so many helpful people, so good to see you won't let it waste away. I do like the most recent dress up of the site, but I was here before that happened so I won't hate. :)

A while back when the site was still funded by adult ads I sometimes run into "malicious" warnings from chrome or my anti virus, they go away when I reload the page or hit back and click again. So I am guessing it is probably ads related, nothing too bad (I hope), but should keep an eye out.

Thank You Ashal

I know I have more then said my share in regards to this but a number of us were starting to feel rather uncomfortable under the "clean rules"

Put donation gauge.

That will tell how much dosh you need (and how much there is in already) for a year.

I support this, it's a great way to make up the difference that the ads do not cover. It would also be a nice way to spend the stranded cash left on those visa and mastercard gift cards

It's amazing to know that loverslab, the home of a plethora of amazing mods, games, etc as well as (and more importantly) home to the most open, friendly, and mature online community that I know of is safely in the hands of Ashal. While I've seen plenty of online communities fail in the past (mainly due to poor moderation and greedy admins), I have faith that this forum will thrive for many years to come. Thank you Ashal.

Now, cheese anyone?

Well, I'm thankful you tried...

In any case, I'll have to do my best to ignore such..ads.

>_<

Quick suggestion, though...

Maybe you could turn off the dirty ads on the 'non-adult' section?

Just a passing thought...

Sorry.

[P.S. - My first post! >.<]

I respect your decision, although I don't feel comfortable when seeing ads pictures with a girl directly open her pussy to me.

And I wouldn't judge you in the slightest for actively using an ad blocker on the site as a result, and in fact would recommend it if such ads offend you
