Skyrim 2016 What mods should I be using now?

Recommended Posts

I am returning to skyrim and if someone has a list of stable mods with load order and of course Sex Lab included, I would like to see it. I will be using mod manager as well as the other major utilities to run everything. This doesn't have to be a 200 mod list. Just the best of the old and new in a list that won't crash all the time. Is anyone able to help me out?

As always with this type of question, it depends. What do you want in your game?

I want a game with rich textures, attractive people (but not all glamour), Hi res, but not system crippling. Items, armour and weapons with a gritty and realistic  feel, I only need one companion at a time but I like to switch them up. I don't like the core look of elves in Skyrim and anything that improves that is great. I remember CBBE was great and I see that the original modder is still updating.

For lovers lab stuff, the best of the popular mods.

Does that help?

I really appreciate you responding. I downloaded mod manager and played around but even with pages of reading I am still finding it tough to get a stable list of mods. What I really, really want is a well functioning game because I am keen to play again.

I agree with what Eagle said. I would add PSVAC armors, which is the vanilla armors re-rigged for HDT.  http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/1089-psvac-pregnancy-scalable-vanilla-armor-and-clothing-meshes-node-scaling-tbbp/

For immersion, Beeing Female, [shameless plug] College Days Winterhold [/shameless plug],

Death Alternative.

Either Skyrim Unbound (now back on the Nexus) or Live Another Life. And [shameless plug] Escape the Cell [/shameless plug]

If you want slavery, [shameless plug] Simple Slavery [/shameless plug] and whichever of the mods it connects to (especially Sanguine's Debauchery) that sound the most appealing. Also, Deviously Enslaved Continued.

Simply Knock. (It's obvious and really well done). You don't need anything else. Just go Simply Knock. Totally ignore everything else, because when it comes down to it and ignoring other game play frippery, just knocking on a persons door and getting a response is all you want from a game. Get Simply Knock, send the author money, home their kids. Just do it!!!!

Gritty, high res textures, beauitiful women, non-ugly elves, good weapons/armors

gritty feel you got 3 options, Grim and Somber    DFO  Bleak ENB

Best looking NPCs/characters Bijin AIO and either CBBE/UNP and personally i prefer the Pride Of Valhalla Skin Texture

Items and Armours are normally personal preference too so you can use Nexus, Skyrim Modtype, EhaiSpot, mitakusaner and killingdoll i use them to find armours and weapons.

Companions it depends if you fussy about voice acting if not i actually Like Luna and Tisse

For Elves

For Elves

DFO has been folded into Enhanced Landscapes, which in turn requires DynDOLOD. Having gone through the process myself, I'd warn that it's quite a bit of work and together with Bleak ENB has given a solid hit to performance...

I have to agree. So far it's the best I have seen in 2016. Immersive, usefull, very simple.

Make sure you have the hardware to match that quality, because some screenshots are so great yet can't be used for regular gameplay.

4K is intended for screenshot specialists. That much quality will, of course, tax your system unless you want to spend much of the time with the game taking screenshots.

2K and below are for general gameplay, and that quality should be good enough for mid-range PCs, but not for most laptops.

Bleak enb is big preformance hitter but for high end comp and turning off ambient occlusion becuase all it does add like unnoticable shadows you could gain like 7fps, i range around 40 around falkreath so i wouldnt know for others

If a better looking Skyrim is one of your goals, I'd like to point out: Skyfalls and SkyMills to help with immersion. I never really noticed or thought about static waterfalls and windmills till I saw this one. Now I can't imagine 'My' Skyrim without them.

Immersive Wenches can beautify pretty much all the females except the unique npc (Lydia,Ria, Aela, Etc). Be sure to get the Terra Armor and Weapons add ons that comes with it.

Pure Waters - Waterfalls by Laast

Actually I do use Pure waters as well...

I didn't want to post my entire mod list - just some of the more obscure ones. Also, a lot of ENB's also have water enhancements if IRC, but this is definitely one to look at.

Since this is a newer post, many newer PC users getting into skyrim will likely take a look at this. After going back to the skyfalls/skymills download location, I saw dynDOLOD has basically adopted this mod (mostly). Not sure if I had an ENB conflict at the time, but have switched recently, so may research it again.
