Nah, that's not trolling. It's a known fact that the leveled lists do have their meaning, but they were implemented rather poorly (bandits with daedric armor, again - sometimes, it looks like Dagon had a garage sale).

 

While some monster mods and tweaks do attempt to offset this issue, you have a point, and the comparison with MMORPG and - I daresay - JRPG isn't entirely out of question.

 

However, a simple increase in lethality shouldn't be a way around bad game design (as you pointed out when describing the "fauna" orbiting around the IC) or lackluster AI, either.

Try "update3d" (console command). It usually works to clear most animation issues (including invisible bodies etc).

You can make an item with that script (begin onEquip update3d end) if it works and you don't want to have to hit your character with that command every time the glitch occurs.

Are there any mods that let you preview what armor looks like on your characer before looting / buying it? Or at least let you see a full preview of it? (Like how Skyrim shows a preview?)

Well, you could try using pickidle or playidle and resetting that. You can also try Actors in Emotions' reset function, though that usually tends to require you use update3d before if something is heavily messed up (try to use both).

I have no idea if these will work, though; I've never used the combat overhaul so I never encountered the issue.

Nope, that's impossible without heavy scripting... And, even then, most gnd files in Oblivion aren't very exact. Mod added ones are even worse.

The grd files in Oblivion are similar to the previews in Skyrim. That is what they are talking about. Skyrim just took the "world" mesh (what you see if your throw your armor\clothes on the ground in Oblivion, and used it for the preview menu in Skyrim. Obviously, the armors\clothes are vastly different and much higher quality for Skyrim.

 

Now custom oblivion armors\clothes often use a box or rolled up bundle so it doesn't really help.

 

Oblivion, as you are no doubt aware, just has the silly little icon shots in your inventory (which often don't even show the armor\clothes) and the only way of "seeing" what it really looks like, is to try it on.

 

Outside of the game itself you can use nifskope to look at all the armor\clothes parts to see what they look like.

For creature or NPC, easiest is to select them in the console then disable enable. For the PC you can try casting a spell to force reset but unfortunately the best solution still is to quit and reload.

I don't think there is one but it's easy to make one. Just change nif paths from male version to female so the males wear female and females wear male clothes\armor.

If you have joburg installed, activate "Active Mode" (I think that's what it's called) in the settings spell so that it says "On increased load". This allows NPCs to stalk and rape other NPCs. If an NPC is naked, they might be targeted by another NPC and promptly violated (if you allow the genders of the two NPCs to utilize joburg together.

 

There is no lovers plugin that specifically allows NPCs to rape unconscious NPCs. However, with RaperS installed, an NPC can be raped in combat by another NPC if they have low health, are staggering, or are in ragdoll on the ground. An NPC can be raped and knocked unconscious and with a raperS plugin with the gangbang feature, can be raped immediately after by any other enemies. If an NPC is naked and unconscious while Active mode in Joburg is activated they may be targeted and raped.
