Kpnut Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 Here's the FO4 incarnation of Cris. Using a preset to get her to look like that, I cannot make good looking characters in Fallout games. Spoiler 4
guk Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 Victor Been working on the new male PC for my next playthrough, based on an older version of my current avatar. Pics below, some are not the latest version (fixed eyes / nose / mouth tonight) To-do list: eyes 5-10% larger / lower / forward ? tweak eyebrows to look less like a sadistic douchebag 3

Using a preset to get her to look like that, I cannot make good looking characters in Fallout games. Honestly it is much, much easier to make a proper face in FO4 compared to Skyrim. And not just for males. Though apparently you're not the only one having problems - might explain why most player's faces are either very obviously a vanilla preset (which apparently are all relatives of Trashcan Carla), or just look terrible in general with tons of makeup / piercings to cover things up. Well after spending a lot of time in LooksMenu - here are two basic tips for everyone: 1) The vanilla presets are all complete trash, you have to change literally everything to make an aesthetically pleasing face. Can't get the proportions right after pushing headparts around for 2 hours? Measure them. The face of Jessica, facial proportions seem about right. The wide nose, thick lips and pointy chin are purely artistic choice. In the following pics i am using a Phi Grid to measure her facial proportions: Now perhaps you don't know what a Phi Grid is, this is calculated with the Golden Ratio / Fibonacci Numbers. A universal proportion found everywhere in nature. In GIMP, you can find this under Rectangle Select and change the option No Guides to Golden Sections. 2nd pic: Looking from the bottom to the top, the distance from Chin->Eyes is in accord to the golden ratio relative to the distance Chin->Nose. Incidentally, the eyes also have exactly the right size and distance, both relative to each other, and relative to the edges of the face. 3rd pic: Likewise when you measure top-down from the hairline to the chin, the eyes rest exactly below the Phi Grid. That's why the face looks perfect with this hairstyle, although it is a shitty hairstyle for a woman. And there are more things to find out with this procedure, but that covers the basics. 2) There is one huge problem in LooksMenu: Most so-called "sculpt" options have you actually control two slider morphs at the same time. With the mouse. And no numeric feedback whatsoever. This results in every face made in LooksMenu being asymmetrical. Now the pics of Jessica show her before fixing her symmetry and she still looks great, nevertheless here is how to properly fix the facial symmetry: For this you will need Notepad++ and the plugin Compare. This plugin can be downloaded with the internal Plugin Manager. 1. Save your current preset as "111" 2. Select the headpart you want to fix (example: Mouth-Full) and move it all the way to the side 3. Save preset as "112" 4. Tab to desktop, open both presets in Notepad++ and run the Compare plugin (just select "compare") 5. NP++ now has the differing line marked in red. Look in the "112" file for one of the numbers that has changed from something like 0.04xxx to either 1 or -1. 6. Change this to 0 in preset "111" and save. Reload the preset in game. Repeat for all other headparts with a horizontal axis. I suggest making incremental saves (113, 114 etc) so you can roll back if you mess something up. Hope this helps a little bit :-) 1
panthercom Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 Trying Fallout 4 after a 5 month absence. New character with no cosmetic upgrades other than hair. Vanilla skin really doesn't look all that bad. Next comes the skimpy armor and body replacer
heroscomeback Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 You guys all take such good screenshots...makes me nervous to even post my character here. I'll have to learn how to get those super high quality screens. Anyway, here's my current main character, Zinnia. Mid-conversation. Taking some practice shots with the IF-54 Beowulf. Sturges watching the practice shots. Alternate angle. Silhouette shot. And a random shot where Preston decided to sit on stage while McDonough gave his speech lol 1

Irrational Posted June 2, 2018 Posted June 2, 2018 Finally got back into Fallout 4 now that there are more mods. Like my modded Skyrim I spend considerable time understanding how to sculpt. I actually play a Male PC, but here is my Nora companion since we are all here for them Tata's. 9
EMayhem Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 A lot amazing shots here ? Alright, here a few shots of my char, nothing special.. anyway, here ! 5
Di3sIrae Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 I may share mine as well. Alexandra, i should upload her set to my Flickr but i am being too lazy recently... I am a male but i've been creating and roleplaying girls since... ever. Since when i started playing presencial RPG, always had this interest in trying to understand what i am not. Since they are all 2560x1440, i'll leave them on a spoiler ? And here is her before the haircut. She used to be a housewife... 11
JujuVolikhar Posted June 13, 2018 Posted June 13, 2018 Damn you guys and your perfect ENB & 8k textures, that's the best screen I could take 3
Di3sIrae Posted June 13, 2018 Posted June 13, 2018 Hey @JujuVolikhar , you character is good! I tried using 8K skin and 2K face but in the end nothing is better than the old R.F. textures ? (maybe FSM, but all normal size, plus 2K face gives me infinite lag ) And Improved and Expanded Everything 2, i love this ENB! And some of Rebecca... i decided to stop playing with her to install mods updates and everything after a long time without playing 5
KoolHndLuke Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Am I the only one that doesn't like anti-aliasing and the soft, blurry effect it has? Anyway, I found some decent light sources in a few places. Too lazy to put them all in pose in the last- sorry.? 6

I like your character, imo she would make a popular preset, really cute face. Didn't know about that R.F textures will check it :p. For ENB I use Subtle ENB, but it doesn't seem to change much
