Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines

Anyone ever played that game? It was made by Trokia way back in 2004 and is based upon the roleplaying game Vampier the Masquerade. It's probably one of the best, if not the best, game that i've played (I've never seen a game replicate the amazing facial animations they had in that game, apart from maybe Witcher 3)

I still feel disappointed that the game didn't get the love it deserved at the time of its release, mainly because it was buggy as hell, I still wonder what It would have been like if Trokia were given the proper support by their publishers and never went under right after they released it. Even though its an old game there are still quite alot of mods out there, i'm surprised that I've never found any sex mods that were made for the game though.

I have and enjoyed it. Although I played it with the unofficial patch. It'd be a lot better with sex mods but I haven't heard any.

Troika Games have made three games, you can add the original Fallout to those and I like all four of them. Four pretty unique games. I like Tim Cain.

Yeah my favourite was Fallout 2, I wish that was a more modern game, given the amount of things you could do in it, like get married, have sex with various npc's and become a pornstar, its a shame it was mostly fade to black/text based, I'd have loved to have seen what Loverslab could have done with it.

I agree about FO2, if a game allows you to become a pornstar it's clearly the best game ever!

I think modding Fallout and Fallout 2 is a lot more difficult than modding Bethesda games, hence the lack of mods for them. Although you may be surprised to hear that the FO2 Restoration Project has some new adult content, including dancing for money in New Reno, (implied) anal sex to convince a caravan leader, both for female characters. I highly recommend a play-through with FO2 RP, if you haven't done it already.

Yeah I played it the game was pretty fun and there are lots of mods for it. I usually played malkavian I liked how you could talk to certain people and put them into a trance like state where they get that goofy drugged like look and even have some of them follow you till you bite them. Would be cool if something like that would be made for skyrim. I think that would be kind of cool.

Yes, great game (made by Troika, not "Trokia"). Sadly it's grossly underrated. Something as good as VtM:B should have a lot more fans than it already does. And some HD mods, to make it look more modern (the game is so old, it won't even play in 16:9 or 16:10 without some mods/patches/workarounds).

The story is amazingly good, especially if you're a fan of the original, older version of World of Darkness universe.

And once you finish the story a few times, there is always an option to play as deranged Malkavian, and solve a quest by convincing a guy that you are his childhood pet turtle.

And all those deranged dialogue choices. Amazing.

Thanks, yeah i've checked out the Restoration Project, you don't need that many mods to complete either fallout 1 or 2 really, just stuff that patches the game and adds in cut content really.  I really missed the atmosphere of the original fallouts in 3 and even New Vegas to an extent  even though I did enjoyed both fortunately Sexout was able to help out that issue  :D

Hell yeah, Skyrim totally needs a mod where you stop randomly to argue with a signpost or convince an npc that you're they're long lost turtle lol

I've only finished VtMB once, played with the nerdy looking female class (can't recall their name). Malkavians were too weird for me. I enjoyed the game quite a bit, even though I generally hate the overly used vampire cliches, but I also have to admit the game sucked a bit towards the end.

Probably Tremaire then, Thaumaturgie was kinda cool, but I prefer a Katana/Uzi-wielding Ventrue or Toreador. Malkavians were a lot of fun too, best dialogues one can imagine!

Not sure what the overly used cliches were...maybe that Vamps sucked blood, were actually dead and didn't sparkle?

But yeah, towards teh end you could really see and feel it was rushed to be completed. Still a game worth playing even today. Great characters, okay combat, interesting story with a nice twist to it. For me a classic, and I wish I could still play it today but...I just know every little pixel of it by now, makes it hard to enjoy even with other races...

No, I mean I like the game even though I don't like vampire stuff in general, you know, films, tv series, etc.

Thinking about both games now, I'd say it was a better experience than HL2.

Yeah you could see by the end they were really feeling the boot of their publishers in wanting to get it out as soon as possible. I remember when I first played it  you couldn't even get past the Society of Leopold level because of that annoying boat bug that you could never get around until it was finally patched.

The appeal of the game for me was its atmosphere and themes, I like what they did with the disciplines, but  man they really nailed what the World of Darkness was about right down to the music to the hilarious advertisements that would play on the radio.

If you're looking for more content you might want to check out something called The Clan Quest mod, it got a new release a few months ago by the author after he returned from a long break. That is my favorite mod for VTMB because it actually adds to the game rather than replaces it, so many mods add in new clans to replace the old ones which is fine but they also end up changing the music and just other little atmospheric tidbits throughout the game that really made it for me.

Clan Quest doesn't really do that though, instead it creates new clan specific quests, most of which are voice acted to varying degrees of quality and other non clan specific quest you can do, some of them are actually really good like the one that expanded on more of the backstory and politics of the  Kuei Jin.

Plus you can get a lap dance from Velvet Velour which already makes it an awesome mod in my mind

You can also have sex with her too but like with Jeanette its fade to black although you do hear her moaning

Still got it installed on this laptop the version i bought when game was launched i think with community patch also.

I probably belong to those first 80 thousend only copies sold. I never understood why this was not more popular among general public even with bugs (many more popular games sometimes also have major bugs still sell good).

Also heared the rumor of many DL it on torrent sites :( (Always bought my games)

Great game.

Fantastic game, one of my all time favorites that I'm always telling people to get. Have it installed now with latest unofficial. Things unlocked in unofficial include more adult content and the ability to sire your own vampire childe.

I didn't like the ending because there were way too much combat, there should have been ways for Ventrue or Toreador to charm their way past or the like (if there was I don't know, and even then there's that damn Sheriff). A lot of really cool moments in it, it's got both my favorite Werewolf (when not playing one yourself), haunted house and zombie scenes, I loved how different the game could be on multiple playthroughs, a Tremere, Gangrel, Malkhavian and Venture would all have significant differences to how you play the game. I hear latest unofficial made the Venture side a lot more interesting for the end. A lot of stuff as well that's not spelled out for you, like who Handsome Jack is, and the fact that the cab driver that takes you around and shares several of the endings with Jack, is actually Cain, father of all vampires.

Yeah Bloodlines is awesome, definitely one of my favorite games of all time, not long ago i played Masquerade too and dispite the game being really old now, i had a blast.

I would sell my soul to see a sequel :-/

And yeah Cain definitely went to see whats going on in the world as a taxi driver after his long sleep in sarcophagus that you found empty, the last chat you have with him before the ending mission makes it pretty clear its him  :)

Some what. The UP does restore a "blowjob" scene that can be seen in some of the back alleys(most predominantly in Downtown and Chinatown), perhaps a few other things that are kind of adult but still somewhat tame. The patch does not allow you to embrace anyone, since that is likely out of Troika's aims, and nothing really points to them wanting to have it in the game. Even if they might have planned for it, nothing suggests so in the game itself.

Personally I'd love a mod that makes Vesuvius what it is supposed to be - a bloody STRIP club. Honestly love this reaction - Blood, Violence, Vampires, crafting flesh(even one instance where an enemy monster WAS pregnant), but nudity? Nah, we cannot go that far.  Obviously Troika was fine with having it in the game, and likely White Wolf was fine too(given the artwork in the clanbooks), but Activision? No dice.

The Antitribu mod does have some more adult content in it, and since it includes the Companion mod, does allow you to Sire Heather or Yukie like the original. The Clan Quest Mod also has the CompMod an option too, although there it only allows Heather or Yukie as companions, since some of the other characters being companions could have broken some of the Clan Quests.

I never considered it might be Cain that was in the coffin, I figured it was a buddy of Cain and Jack's that they rescued at some point. This is simply from a logic standpoint, after all Cain is driving a cab around, and vampire sleep tends to happen over centuries and milennia, meaning that when the being that was in the coffin went to sleep cars had probably not been invented yet. A few days is a bit short time to learn both how to learn how to drive a car as well as modern traffic rules to drive it around LA, even for freaking Cain. My guess is Cain has been awake for a long time actually, if he ever went to sleep.

I see your nightclub music, and I raise you with ending music.

Well this is the father of all vampires, i mean they are always portrayed as creatures of immense power and intelligence, there is nowhere written that he couldnt have the abilities of quick learning and understanding after milennia of watching the world change, but you are probably right.

Gotta replay Bloodlines again to refresh my memory :)

I don't think that was actually Caine in the coffin I think it was instead a ghoul of Lamashtu  since her name came up repeatedly by Beckett and it was the tomb of an ancient Assyrian King.

Tbh I think Caine just set the whole thing up as an experiment or as  a test for the kindred of the city seeing as whole Gehenna at that point was coming just round the corner, maybe it was his way of seeing if there was truly any redemption for his kind.

Yeah probably, he wanted to see what his children were up to and what choices you would make at the end.

Well i have to replay it, im starting to forget the bits and pieces and this time i gotta try out the other clans that never really interested me like ventrue or toreador, i always ended up playing a malk, they so crazy its just too much fun :P

Surely enough, I picked it up again after this thread. Good god, the women in this game are still as bombastic as ever. Talking to Jeanette is about the equivalent of popping a viagra...they don't make 'em like this anymore.

I remember when I first played this game when I was about 12 years old and I met her for the first time, yup i think that single moment is the sole reason my life has now led me here

But seriously, it  wasn't until i was 18 that I was finally able to realize I was  being played by both her and the other hot female character VV
