[request] Nude Quiet - Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Worry

Recommended Posts

Ok guys, i don't know if this should go under the "request" thread, but.... COME ON!!!
I was expecting a nude Quiet mod since Day 1 after the release of the game but no one seems to be interested in nude - modding her...
Well, i think she has a lot of potential, and these videos will prove me right:

and probably the best one:

LET'S MAKE SOME JUSTICE FOR QUIET.
She's too hot, we can't just overlook her. I wish i had a minimum  modeling/modding skill.
If i had them i would do this myself, but some of you guys here are very talented and would make a wonderful job.
As i understood there are already modding tools for the game, for unpacking and repacking .dat files which contain models and such (http://www.nexusmods.com/phantompain/mods/13/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fphantompain%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D13&pUp=1
this is one of them, but i think it's already outdated by a better version [the 1.3.1]).

What do you guys think about this? Is it doable??
Btw, there are also other female models in the game which could be modded, but IMO Quiet is just the best.

Do you have an idea how to edit the meshes for MGS5?

If you do, I will do it.

Swapping clothes and characters it pretty easy.

It is enough to find the correct file and rename it.

But there are no traces of meshes or DDS in the game. They are encoded in a format that is not public knowledge.

Or, if you like, you can finance me for the 250,000.00 $ required to buy the Fox Engine Editor.  :D

I was expecting this request from day 0.

The MGSV QAR Tool are used to unpack the dat files. But then how you think you edit the FUX, FOK, and other files?

The LUA files are easy to edit. Some XML file is easy to edit (but you hit in the dark, because they are completely obsucre.)

Meshes and textures? They are somewhere, but there is no tool to edit them.

If you discover one, post, and I will do it.

I guess I am the only person who was annoyed with the skimpy outfit and that pretty stupid explanation why she wore it.

Actually I was pretty happy when I was able to develope the XOF outfit for her. From there on she always went into battle looking like the badass and tough character she is.

Nude would take too much away from her character in the game (for me at least).

But we all have different tastes I guess and I don't want my reply understood as judging, just saying why *I* would not be interested in such a mod ^^

(Well, maybe I understood your "What do you think about it?" wrong and you didn't mean it that way, sorry if that is the case!)

And maybe it has to do with my preferences, strong, though women in uniforms.... *sigh*

So, if anyone is able to mod the original Quiet with the skimpy outfit into a nude one, maybe then someone can mod her into a Quiet in fatigues as well....

Mmh, i guess we'll have to ask the Xentax guys for this... :P

Well, my answer was related to the possibility of realizing the mod, but hey, i respect everyone's taste. Quiet is indeed badass and i agree that maybe a full blown nude mod would make her a lot more innocent looking and not as tough as she actually is... but hey, finding a way to effectively mod her would please both, as the possibility of making new outfits for her would be a real thing too!!

Aha, Metal Gear thread on LL, here we go:

This link have most tools you can use to work with metal gear files:

http://steamcommunity.com/app/311340/discussions/0/619574421273582659/

The game assets use .dat files that can be open using MGSV QAR Tool : http://www.nexusmods.com/phantompain/mods/13/?---> dictionary with latest files :https://github.com/emoose/MGSV-QAR-Dictionary-Project

Most people are basically swapping models by now, but there is a a guy from the 3dm chinese forum who was able to work with the textures

and removed (or made invisible)  most of quiets equipment. -> http://eviantar.deviantart.com/art/B9485996-563008707

Theres also this forums , with people tinkering with the files: https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1443449

http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=12407&start=690

Best of luck to anyone modding mgs5.I wish i could hate this game for its problems, but the gameplay is just too polished lol

I guess you can rip  msg meshes using ninja ripper?

Ninja Ripper extracts rendered meshes directly from D3D.

It can be used to steal 3D models from a game, and then use it in your own rendering.

But does dot (can not) extract bones (because they are not a part of the D3D pipeline), nor it allows to create a file to be used by the game.

Ninja Ripper is for meshes pretty much when TexMod is for textures.

Both are really good, but they cannot help in replacing/changing an actual object of a game.

Someone at bbs made some progress

http://bbs.3dmgame.com/thread-4933347-1-1.html

She's not naked but she is in her bikini and panties, you just have to register to view the file. Didn't work for me for some reason though...

I tried this mod.

She does not appear in her bikini always.

Only on a few scenes.

But I saw how the guy did it, and this gave me a way to explore to make "invisible" the rest of her clothes.

About the body I found two DDS (and it is a PAIN to find them!!!), I think I have to draw some nipples to them...

Right now no luck at all.

I did a simple texture conversion, a diffuse color texture, by replacing everything in green/purple stripes.

And then replaced the texture. repacked, and played the game (with a bunch of save files that I have to manually switch) to test it.

The texture never appears in the game.

I think I am missing something.

It's not the dictionary lines you often have to add to the QAR tool? I presumed that was why the 3dm mod wasn't working. Most model swaps on the nexus that have a lua file as opposed to replacing the entire dat require you to add lines to the dictionary file in the QAR. Probably that's just waaaaay too simple a solution to be suggesting lol, but when I looked at the 3dm mod I wondered where the read me was with the required lines.

Nice first post Campbell! Confirmed working for me, though I'd assumed it would remove Quiet's accessories rather than be a playable character. More fool me for not using Google translate I guess, though I rarely do on Chinese/Japanese sites cos the result is usually gibberish anyway... Lesson learned, best to try it anyway lol

"Aha, Metal Gear thread on LL"

Man i am literally one of the worst persons when it comes to modelling/modding in general but i am happy i somehow kickstarted a modding thread for the game on here.

This site is literally filled with passionate and talented people, i have no doubt something good will come out of it eventually ;)

Also thanks to anyone who eventually decides to start working/figuring out how to mod the game!

There are a few mods enabling to play as "Quiet".

All of these mods (that are one a variation of the other) do a simple character swap: Any "female warrior" that is in Mother Base, when equipped with a special suit (the actual suit depends on the mod), has the model of Quiet (standard or bikini.)

All these mods are replacing a set of clothes, not the actual character.

Still there is not a single mod to make the actual Quiet NPC naked or less dressed.

... Which is indeed what I'd prefer at least, and I'm guessing I'm not alone in that! From what I gather though model swapping is as simple as changing the names of files, anything else seems it must be more complex than just replacing what appears to be the mesh or the texture. Hope you get to the bottom of the issue you're having CPU, good luck, sorry I'm no help!

Doing a model swap can be easy in some cases.

The "armor" model contains also the full character body. So when a NPC is wearing a special armor, then the body can be replaced.

But the number of bones are important for the animations, so it is for this reason that you need a female NPCs to have her as Quiet.

If you find two compatible model in the game, then replacing one with the other is a matter of duplicating the file you want, and renaming it with the other model name, and then pack it.

About the actual texture or meshes it is a little bit more complex.

The textures can be found without a huge amount of problems. I tried to replace a few of them with some High Noticeable Colors, but I never saw them in game.

About the meshes, the actual format is pretty much unknown, and I am not aware of an actual import/export tool (I saw one for 3D Studio 2009, and 3DS 2009 is pretty much impossible to have.)

Well I guess we're waiting on some genius to crack Fox engine then! It's weird they haven't come up with anything yet seeing as ground zeroes must be packed in much the same way, but I'm talking about stuff that's way over my head... It's a shame cos putting some real world weapons in there would be nice too among the other possibilities. I mean I can customize something to approximate an m110 or a scar and even an acr, but those are some properly pornographic guns lol, I'd love to see some of those happen, and the nexus crowd would be all over that stuff if they could get at the meshes. (Lore and history aside of course hehe)

Ground Zero and The Phantom Pain share a huge amount of the implementation but not everything.

If you try to apply what was (partially) possible for the meshes or the animation scenes for GZ to TPP, you have a game that will crash as soon as the object are used.

The texture system looks exactly the same. The LUA (scripting) is similar but not exactly the same.
