I grew up in the Country so I basically had two choice, Crountry Music or Rock. (remember 60's & 70's) I do not remember any "Death Metal" in the sense that we got later on. Rap's grandad was Funk, George Clinton and the P Funk all stars, which I like in moderation, The same with "Death Metal" we had our bands that "Birthed" it like Sabbath etc. , While I do not care for most of rap, just like I do not care to "Bang my Head" it is my personal preference. I too do not disparage others for their Taste in music, (the world would be pretty damn boring if we were all the same) we should all have the right to enjoy what we like, share it with others, at the same time have the ability to receive knocks and jabs about our choices. True, and that's what I thought this thread was all about. But more than once I have received flak about the music I like. It's why I started to post less, and less, then eventually just stopped for a while. And as soon as I started to post again, I receive flak again almost immediately. So I figured I'd ask. If people don't want me to post at all, I will oblige and not post any of my 'not music'. You have been here for a while so you should know that @Grey Cloudtends to be the type that would hunt squirrels with buckshot ammo. Sure, some might find it excessive, but he doesn't single out anyone excessively (well he may have in the past). Second, your defense began to sound like more justification, when ignoring it would have been better. In any event, if you have seen my posting history, you would see that I rarely criticize or "attack" someone, though......afterwards I realize that you may not even give two shits about what I write, so I should have explained the reference to show that it wasn't an attack. As for the music you post, post what you want, as @caveman74 said. When it comes down to it, you are voluntarily sharing your interests because you like to share, and when sharing music, it is hardly going to turn out bad. People hating on quality rap music from the 90s hasn't stopped me from posting some of the greatest songs ever. Like this one: 1
