Guest Vendayn Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Here is part of Bethesda's E3 video, but cut down to only Fallout 4. I recorded the whole thing. Probably got beaten to it, but took ages to upload and everything (internet was rather bad today for some reason). Still...for those who just want to see the Fallout stuff. Here is a link. And here is all of Bethesda's E3 (its a little over an hour long)
arrow72 Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 IT'S GOING TO BE EPIC! And same goes for Dishonored 2! Shit... I'll have to get a new PC soon
BruceWayne Posted June 15, 2015 Author Posted June 15, 2015 Updated OP with E3 Showcase video. If any of you guys have some other good videos and/or (official) info, leave them here and I'll include them in the OP.
Guest tomm434 Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 So we've got many features that already included in the game like Vertibird, JetPack,House building, dog companion lol.I wonder if we'll need any mods at all. And I wonder more is they're going be limit of responses (with new Mass-effect wheel dialogue system ). I would sure download the mod which returns dialogue menu to her original state. Also I still think voiced protagonist will create issue for mod makers. For Sexout\SexLab mods it's going to be okay but for mods like Falskaar or any DLC-sized quest it's going to be an issue and they won't be as fun to play as original game with voiced PC. I bet there's going to be a voice actress (on Nexus probably) who will do all voice acting for custom mods (she will be able to imitate PC's voice). If someone could do that he\she's going to be on demand. Also more work for modders inserting and checking player's lines.
the_mess Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Updated OP with E3 Showcase video. If any of you guys have some other good videos and/or (official) info, leave them here and I'll include them in the OP. Do you know if the vid that I posted was actually shown at E3?
BruceWayne Posted June 15, 2015 Author Posted June 15, 2015 Yes, I think it was the combat trailer in the presentation. If you have links for all of the individual trailers (like the character creation, crafting, base building, concept art, etc.) I'll include them in the OP. Edit: Included the video you've linked and those from the redundant thread.
the_mess Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 These two are everything I got (besides the one that I already posted)
trpd Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Can that be true? Voiced PC? OMG Finally! Hope the voice acting and expressions is good and can propel emotions. And all naysayers - you probably won't even need mods to mute your character.Graphics - outside faces not much improvement i would say. Shadows in that house or rather lack of them... But what worries me the most is how static everything looks. Static hair, static clothes, the grass that won't react to person walking on it, also how the shirt stretches on that guys neck when he rises head.Question : will cities be part of the world or load screens are still there?Building my own home... err how about no? I do not want to play SIMS! same goes for my city, stronghold or whatever - keep strategy in strategy genre! And rather focus on more branches for the story...Weapon crafting - not too big fan of that, i like to find my stuff, building it up from junk doesn't sound too exciting (i hope that it is not mendatory). Armor customization is amazing through. All and all i'm happier about Fallout 4 then i was before. Just wish i could get excited for Bethesda storytelling @Pre-ordering - i will hold on to my money till i know there is no mod DRM BS coming.

There's just so much more emotion that can be relayed to the actual person and situation that just dialogue can't do. Take Mass Effect for example. Female shepard's voice acting was great.
BOS1387 Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 I Haven't seen it anywhere but does anyone know what the system requirements for fallout 4 will be?
mellowtraumatic Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 I have never been this excited for a game. I have vacation time still left. I may have to take a day off on November 10th.
BruceWayne Posted June 15, 2015 Author Posted June 15, 2015 (Free) Mods for Xbox 1 confirmed: https://twitter.com/Bethblog/status/610491547595902977
Swyke Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 IMHO what I've seen looks very promising. Just some things that make me feel a little doubtful: 1. In the video you can see the special attributes on the pipboy ... but where are the skills? 2. Your character will be one of the parents. Yes? And as the child will be created out of the parents stats, it will survive, too? This will limit the freedom for you character. Especially if you're looking at someday upcoming sex mods. Will your 'vanilla game' character be limited to an married/widowed hetero with a child?
Chaos63 Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 It looks, well...fantastic. It's the first time the graphics have been improved in 2 games time, voiced character, all sorts of customization. Pretty cool story too, a tragic family man who's lost everything, prefect setup for a psychotic mercenary which I know I'm gonna end up being. I hope they don't recycle too much junk from the last game, some creativity is long overdue.
ChelseaIsTheBest Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 During the MS E3 show they announced X1 players will be able to play with mods from the pc version. Which they also said will be free. Which confirms mods and free mods. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/fallout-4-xbox-one-lets-you-play-pc-mods-bethesda-/1100-6428111/ During Microsoft's E3 press conference today, Fallout 4 director Todd Howard came on stage to announce that Xbox One players will be able to play mods made for the game on PC. These mods will be available for free. This news comes following last night's showcase of the game. Howard's announcement was preceded by a gameplay demonstration that showed some similar footage from Bethesda's E3 press conference last night, as well as new footage.

It's probably you pick gender, the other two persons die. Dialog wheel is a problem for me, if it can't be replaced with something like skyUI and line dialog choices. It looks like it might be a problem to include lab like mods and conversation options.

Will your 'vanilla game' character be limited to an married/widowed hetero with a child? 1) Obviously I cannot say for certain, but perhaps you have to increase your skills through actual usage? Could explain how your skills aren't viewable as you, well, don't have any of them trained up at the start of the game? Or, perhaps, they were integrated into the perks system and you unlock weapon/skill perks from different trees? I would personally put my caps on the former of those two. 2) Fan theories aside and assuming the parent story is the proper one, We don't know about the child's survival, but the devs described you as the only surviving member of vault 111 so take that as you will. In regards to upcoming modding, the parent story would hardly limit the creation of any and all sex mods, even those that would implement a story for certain characters/the player's role in said mod story. Its all about the writing. And even sans sex mods, Just because the parent (whichever you choose) was in a heterosexual relationship does not mean that they are wholesomely heterosexual! Could have been Bisexual, Pan-sexual, or all those other sexualities! -------------------------- In regards to modding in general, I hope the devs at least put in a couple of generic lines for use when modding so the player's character will say 'something' towards a quest be it the acceptance/denial of, commanding custom companions, ETC.
l33tMan Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Just shown and I'm already having to wait for a mod to make it playable. *sigh* I don't want my female character to have been already knocked up. The fuck is that shit? That's complete and utter idiocy to force such a thing on a player character. All our sex mods here are going to have to start on "used up". Goes for the male to some extent too. Automatically a father. Also makes them both kinda old maybe? 24-28ish by the looks of it. A big part of these games is injecting personality and backstory into the character yourself. That's the whole point of open world RPG. So already need an alternate start mod and the game isn't even out yet! I mean got damn! Unless it turns out you skip a few years and play as the baby during the game and the parents are just for the intro which would make a whole lot more sense. Yeah, great, undervalued point! It didn't seem to me much like the PC would be the grown up baby or anything when I saw the demo, therefore, on the realization that I would have to play a non-virgin female PC and that if I decided to roleplay a slowly more and more corrupted girl with some eventual LL mods I would not be able to, my mental voice went like this: WHAT THE (censored) Which (censored) nimrod thought it would be a good idea to give the player character lotsa background in an RPG game claiming to be built to let the player do what he/she wants?! (redacted) But with time I'm coming more in terms with this. I think I'll be happy with this just for the sake of the graphical and movement logic update (see this right here? I just realised I only care about Fallout 4 because I dream of Fallout 3 HD) And on top of that, they give the PC a voice and use non-first person dialogue like in the Witcher. I really hope they add an option to disable that, otherwise how am I supposed to immerse myself and become one with my character if the game keeps tearing me out of my body and how are mods adding custom dialogue going to be immersive? It's hard enough for the modders as-is. aHey, uh? Anybody want to start a software development company?
nutluck Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Well apart from the game looking like it was made to come out four or five years ago, the only thing i really didn't like was the voiced PC, hopefully there will an option to turn that off even tho i have a hard time seeing how that could work smoothly without making the dialog feel (for the lack of a better word) halved. I am not a fan of voiced PC's either but I imagine that will be one of the first mods out, turning the voices off, even if it is not a option in the game. I hope we get a alternative start mod like Skyrim has personally. Not a fan of the forced start of who you are.

I may be going out on a limb here, but I'd wager sex mod immersion wasn't at top of their to-do list making this game. Besides, once people figure out how to either mute or re-voice the character, it shouldn't be too hard creating an alt start mod. God knows it's been done a million times by now.

Well, of course the developer hasn't really given any positive support to explicit prostitution and sex-reliant questlines. Ever. But it makes things harder in principle, regardless of what the content of a mod is if it's a conversarion-type mod. Also, I think it will put more distance between the player and the player character, limit bonding. Nah, I don't know, maybe I belong in old junk. But as I said: I'm coming to terms with the changes made and think the game will be a blast. But I still don't approve of these changes made
