Killing Joke Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 I think followers sandboxing make them look even more stupid and on top of that, totally disconnected from what's happening around them. Imagine you have an incurable disease and you ask your friend to go with you to tell your family about it. Once you arrived, instead of supporting you and your relatives, he goes like "yeah well while you're talking about your incurable shit, I'm just gonna sit on the sofa and scratch my balls while watching TV". Ah. Thank you for your concern, mate. That's their sandboxing in a nutshell. And I grew tired of Serana pushing me around and sharpening her absence of blade at the grindstone while I was talking about important matters.

"I smell something foul..."...then runs off, and begins to fight with every damn Forsworn in the keep...Thanks Kharjo...way to keep it stealthy...
Cynical Misanthrope Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 I really don't see all this fuss over Serana. She is not all that fun to be with. I rather have her mom, she's hot. I'll be sure the next time I get back on Skyrim to make a follower mod out of her if there isn't one already. What made Serana great, was her "personality". She did stuff on her own if there was something around to trigged it, like Workbenches etc etc. But in the end, it gets old fast, so yeah, I agree, not that special. Just less crappy. Yep, her sandbox was the only thing that made her unique, but after the whole dawnguard quest, I dismissed her. Yep, same here.

I try to use fast travel as a last resort and one thing that annoys me is when a stupid NPC jumps right in front of line of fire. Especially when their super weak with a sissy weapon in their hand trying to fight a dragon.

Our little quiz / rant session should be limited to "vanilla" characters included in Skyrim or the DLCs also. If we included the ton of poorly made followers on the Nexus and elsewhere the list would never end. My vote, without a doubt, hands down goes to FARKAS!!! He's got to be the most annoying assclown in the history of followers. If he wasn't riding my ass like a sexlab animation and pushing me into mobs of bad guys, he was aggro'ing half the dungeon at once with a suicide charge. On top of that, he's ugly and has lousy dialogue. Serana comes in a close second with her own death or glory charges and reanimating everything in site, but at least she looks decent and has a good storyline. But Farkas is... A werewolf And their cool Would have to say uthgurd the unbroken (the chick that you brawl with in the inn in whiterun)

I come up with the best (or most warped) ideas when it's hours past when I should have gone to bed... In this case I have a fix for that. We need a mod that allows us to drag Housecarls and other servants before the Jarl and have them flogged for insubordination, then they use more pleasant dialogue... Kind of a warped BDSM version of Follower Dialogue Overhaul LOL

Heh, actually the 1.3 version of BTRH Waifu Lydia MAY have outdone Farkas on my annoyance list. Loved that mod at first; nice cosmetic changes and everybody was unique. NOW the author apparently decided that wasn't enough. Gave Lydia full plate armor, a lightning spell, and a "death or glory" Agrro A.i. and radius that makes Farkas look like a seasoned diplomat exercising restraint. *IF* I continue to use the mod, I'm going through and stripping all the non-cosmetic changes out of it. >_<
StayFrosty Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Serana and Barbas for me are the worse Followers by far...both drive me nuts, I never touch Barbas anymore, have a Mod that stops the force greet, so he simply doesn't even show up in my game anymore. Can't avoid Serana though (I like the rest of Dawnguard) and so have all the Mods that shut her up as much as possible and change her behavior now...no more whiny teen Vamp with daddy issues, breaking my stealth, interrupting dialogs, getting under my feet or reanimating Bunnies...am still no fan of hers, but is much easier to deal with now. Runners up are Mjoll and Aela...Mjoll never shuts up and Aela is a shocker for crowding you in, pushing you and getting in the way. I like Stenvar and his now my go to guy on those rare occasions I do use a Follower, using a Mod that tweaks him to stay in stealth and stops him from throwing himself in my path and all good...I personally like his dialog and the dialog spacing he has. Hoth (Mod Follower) is my other go to guy if I decide on two Followers for a change. I enjoy them.

Like "I don't like where this is go but fine, I'll go with you if you insist, like I'd have a say in this.." Oh crap. And Barbas of course. I was so glad to be rid of that damn dog again.. I mean, he's a great tank. But other than that, so annoying. Sneaking around and each time he's barking, I flinch.

Arizona_Steve Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 I have so many followers in my game that I'll probably never use them all, somewhere around 200 or so merged into three separate bsa files... Lydia is always a favorite though, I just invoke SexLab everytime she comes out with her "sworn to carry your burdens" line.
