I've been having issues with this mod (along with Amorous Advenures & SLEN) since I got a new PC and had to re-install Skyrim and all the mods. Now none of the mods even appear in the MCM despite working fine on my old PC. I though it was something to do with sexlab but other mods that use it work fine. I even looked in TES5EDIT but the mods load without an error message. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Which OS do you use on your new PC? Is there any difference between your game's configuration on your old PC and your new one? Do you use any mod managers? Did you start a completely new game or did you try to import your old saves?

To help you, more info is needed.

Edit: Also, if you tried to restore your game (install all your mods at once) - you'll have problems.

Windows 10, I tried to keep it as similar as I possibly could but many of the mods I had been running had been updated to newer versions and that has been my main suspect to be the cause of this. I use NMM. I started a new game entirely. I started off with just the mods I deemed essential at first (including this one), but have added more since then.

Frankly speaking, I don't know Windows 10 (and I don't want to ;)), but I think people reported different behaviour of modded Skyrim under this system. I'm not sure.

As for the mods you mentioned, i.e. Amorous Adventures & SLEN (and of course SLSL), I installed them along with lots of other mods (SexLab and others). There are no serious conflicts between them and the rest of the modules. My current playthrough is like two years long and I don't have any serious problems. All SexLab mods are working great. But I always install one mod at a time, test it and then install another mod, never even two at a time. I follow installation and update instructions to the letter.

I use NMM like you do, but I also use Wrye Bash and keep my bashed patch up to date.

So, that's what my setup looks like. If yours is different at any of the points, maybe that's were the problem is.

I think the best way for you to find the source of your troubles is to install SexLab and all its requirements on a fresh Skyrim installation, then install one of the mods in question (SLSL is the simplest of them, so maybe start with it). Then test your game. If you still have problems, then most probably you did something wrong.

That's all I can think of at the moment. I wish I could be more helpful, but it's hard for me to repair something I can't see or touch. And, as you know, vanilla Skyrim is capricious, modded Skyrim could be much worse.

P.S.: Forgive me, but I have to ask, you obviously didn't install Skyrim SE by accident?

Haha no, it's normal Skyrim. I should probably install mods the way you do but it sounds like it would take an awful long time. It really becomes a balance between wanting to be careful and being excited to play. Thanks for the advice anyway

Hi

Would it be possible to implement masturbation in this mod? Forexample, it could trigger with a high arousal or a certain amounts of rejections?

I guess that's the only thing I miss about the mod.

I also need to create a json file with NPC properies. Too many NPCs has the "faithfull" trait. That trait does not seem to trigger sex at all so far.

You're very welcome.

And yeah, installing multiple mods one by one (and testing them) is tedious, but I can't see any other way with Skyrim. The advantage, however, is huge: careful modding + using proper tools = stable game (even if your load order is long and heavy with scripted mods). Example: last night I had an opportunity to play a little longer and I managed to play for five hours straight. Finally I got CTD, true, but this often happens with a longer gameplay of Skyrim, even with little mods.

But, first of all, you have to have too much time to spare to properly build your game and play it. Unfortunately, I have so much time... :s

Hi, Asta. I like your idea but it's up to Dooge whether to add it to SLSL or not.

As for changing the traits: you can either use my "calculator" that comes with the mod or use one of the ready .json files - some of them are included in the mod itself, there were also some files attached somewhere in the thread. I think if you have lots of faithful NPCs it's because the mod applied that trait randomly. If I remember correctly in the json files there were not so many characters with this trait.

Two days after having all sex acts completely cease after perfect functionality since installation, I have broke. I just cant help but to think, we have a machine at our disposal that can run hundreds upon thousands upon millions of instructions per second, we have access to terabytes of porn to satisfy even the most depraved, yet here we are fiddling with scripts of an uncooperative piece of software from 2011 to simulate this clipping we deem sex (theres not even any vaginal bones!)

is it too much to ask from 2017 for a role playing game where I can shout at things before returning home to a harem of cheating rapist bdsm-inclined size queens?

Calm down, relax, think...

You want a perfect hardware for sex and software that goes with it? Find a partner in RL, ask them for a date, be charming and, you both may end up in bed. It's up to your skills and level. You may even chose any animations you can think of, provided you're partner likes them too.

If you want to use a computer instead, that's fine, but it will always be a substitute, a simulation. For some it may be even enough. I'm not judging. Maybe in the future the experience will be so close to RL that you won't be able to tell the difference. Still you'll know it's not real.

Now, I'll try to answer your whining (I call it this way, because apart from some childish complaints, I can't see what the point of your post is).

So, you had sex options working but they are suddenly broken now? But what stopped, exactly? All sex, animations, SLSL NPC sex?

Have you changed anything in your load order recently? Installed anything new, uninstalled any mod? Please, help me to help you.

P.S.: "uncooperative piece of software from 2011" - yet people are still playing it in 2017. And most of them do not complain. I wonder why?

Edit: You've been here like for three weeks now, right? And you're judging without basic knowledge about what this site has to offer? "theres not even any vaginal bones!" - Really now?

hello iacex, thank you and the rest of the modders for working on sexlife. may it one day see the light of a stable, complete release. anyway, it seems the irony of my post was not appreciated so I'll be dropping it here.

I can understand how a person who helped make the mod would see it as genuine whining, but it was meant to parody it. to be sure, if I wanted to get my rocks off easily i have many more choices thanks to the internet; I think I mentioned this much. if i was feeling a little more ambitious i could also proposition my significant other. you see I find it humorous I'm considering picking up modding tools. thank you for the discourse on how to get laid though, ill remember it for next time. it will certainly make it easier than writing a script that checks for her arousal, scans the vicinity randomly, and if invisible ME gets targeted, checks for compatibility. right?

also, there's obviously no market clamoring for a fully fleshed open world rpg with an incredibly developed fetish sex system. and I know it is out of the scope of sexlab modders to create and animate vaginal bones of sfm caliber.

rest assured, my game is working fine after loading a backup save and mod list; if my life was actually dependant on the functionality of sexlife i wouldve at the very least provided a log, much less describe my actual problem. now i must disagree with you on your remark on how functional papyrus is in this context, especially considering no one working on this aspect of the game expected we'd be using it for this. of course people are gonna complain about bugs. bugs exist. if I recall correctly, didn't a bunch of civil war content get cut because it was too hard to implement? if that's the case then it's hard to believe bethesda ever intended on devoting their resources to releasing a friendly developers kit; they write what they need to ship the game and future dlc, no more, no less. (no manual emory management is OK i guess if you're not counting on your customers running hundreds of mods at once.) I think that speaks for the determination of modders so again a thanks is in order.

i digress. from the looks of it this thread is solely for the purpose of debugging so I shall take my leave. no offense was meant, good luck.

edit: nvm, fuck me. installing hdt animated vaginas now, hope it's as good as sfm.

Thank you for calling me a modder, which I no longer am actually. My help here is really symbolic... Cheers. :)

Now, I really feel like I should explain my attitude when I commented on your post for the first time. Accidentally you became a victim of my exhaustion after I tried to find solutions to some general problems with Skyrim modding. While going through a mass of posts here on LL and Nexus I realized how often people require from modders to be actually their personal assistants with any little problem they are having, how often they demand features to be added while the author of the mod stated precisely they were not going to do that (either because that's not what the mod is about or it's just hard/impossible to implement). So instead of finding my answers I read tons of... whining.

I'm not saying, mind you, that every player who's not a modder is a moron, retard and they shouldn't mod their games at all. No, no. But even here I explained (and I was not the only one) the same thing for a number of times, while the answers were already out there. Sorry, I was annoyed, I should've controlled myself...

I'm not saying SLSL is a final product and there's no need to work on it. Yes, I like it the way it is now, it's working, and first of all (what I keep saying all the time) it's just happened to be the mod I have been waiting for since guys started to add sex content to Bethesda's games. And also that's the reason I helped a bit with it when I felt I have some ideas and skills to do so.

I am no supporter of papyrus. I'm not sure how did you get the idea that rely on its logging whatsoever. Sometimes the logs help, sometimes they don't. Surely the logging doesn't help much with CTDs.

OK, back to SexLife. Let's forget for a while that this mod isn't finished. Let's forget about the invisible me which, I'll always repeat that, was added on request and shouldn't be even here, as SLSL is about NPC's life "without the PC". There are mods designed solely for that - to make NPCs nag you for sex. Here's the thing: people often install lots of mods and after some time their load order is so heavy, they want to merge mods or want modders to put as much content in one .esp so they could reduce their load. In fact there's a mod, called Scent of Sex, where you can "program" sex life in Skyrim in many aspects. But it takes time, effort... I use it and I like it, but it's not for everyone.

One final thought: SLSL (with the mods it requires) is not enough to make the "sexual part" of Skyrim interesting. You need animations (SL provides some, but there are lots more of them). You need NPCs. You need beautifiers, like body mods, NPCs overhauls (faces), etc. Vanilla Skyrim with just SexLab and SexLife isn't that special. You'll find lots of interesting stuff here: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/19588-sexlab-index/ . But you may already know all that. If so, maybe my mumbling will be useful to someone else? After all this is a forum thread, not a private chat.

OK, what were we talking about? Never mind. Enjoy your game. Sorry for this wall of text. I hope it makes any sense.

Does the Bestiality fetish option work? Enabled it but each time an animal gets selected (for instance - a fox) , I get this message:

"IsSexEnabled Exit A1 (Fox cannot be animal)"

Not sure why , can someone please explain?

Edit: Never mind , apparently works when Actor 1 is not an animal

  • 2 weeks later...

All the time I used this mod, I have never seen anyone accept someone's proposal. They always reject each other. I even lowered arousal requirement to 10 and scan time to 20 seconds.

Depends on their tags too. Each NPC is randomly assigned one of those tags. Faithful, Submissive, Dominant, Rapist, Racist, etc. You can change them by looking at them and pressing N by default (you will see a particle effect on them if it works) and then going into the MCM menu and changing their tags. Submissive type will less likely have sex and more likely get raped and Faithful tagged will never have sex with anyone outside marriage. So say Gerdur if tagged faithful will only have sex with her husband Hod.

Is there a version that just rids of the player voice but keeps the dialogue? Really would like to see what they have to say. Also did you have plans for those placeholders? What were they going to be?

Have kind of a weird bug I think. For some reason no NPC appears as married in the MCM. It started suddenly and I have attempted to use setrelationshiprank to no avail as well as messing around with my load order. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?
