Recently set fire to Nexus Mod Manager, said goodbye to my heavily modded character/save files and made the switch to Mod Organizer for greater stability and longevity, but now I'm wondering, What do you all run as your "Bare basics" profile that you tend to copy to create new character profiles? I'm thinking it looks something like this; SKSE SkyUI Sexlab Framework Desired Default female body of choice (can easily be unticked and replaced, right?*) SOS or Better looking Males ... And this is where you come in. As for me, I always plan to run; Defeat (Really looking forward to Version 5 exiting Beta) Sexlab Solutions Dangerous Nights (Although I might tweak the percentages on some playthroughs) A voice replacer/suplemental for Sexlab Apropos (If I can get it to work this time around, last time I was using an old Sexlab and updating was intimdating/would break many of my mods) Sexlab RND (or something like it) Sexlab First Person --- So which of your favorites did I miss? Recomend them to me (please, and thanks!) *: Body replaces and meshes confuse me. Especially weighted ones.

Soulgem oven is my current favorite HDT Enhanced Lights and FX also all unofficial patches for skyrim + DLCs Brawl Bugs Patch TK children makes the children look normal....instead of...oh god please just no vanilla children. Static Mesh Improvement Mod Pure Weather Footprints (much more immersive) Skyrim Project Optimization Customizable Camera Realistic Water Two (best water by far) Splash of Rain Real Shelter No Snow Under The Roof Expanded Towns and Cities or JK's Skyrim all in one but these 2 are resource heavy Unique Grasses and Groundcovers - Nature and Landscape Enhancement performance impact and it's not perfect, but makes the land not seem bare for ENB I use real like enb which looks decent with little to no framerate drop if you use any enb Skyrim Particle Patch for ENB And many many more but these are the most basic for me.
afa Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 FNIS, fuz ro doh, HDT, XPMSE, hair mod of your choice, body and textures of your choice, ECE and/or RaceMenu, camera mod of your choice if you are into that, SkyUI, Sexlab framework, Zaz animation pack. As much as I love the rest of the Sexlab mods and will typically never play a game without arousal, defeats, submit, apropos, devious suite etc. There are times when I need to test a mod with minimum chance of conflicts so I wouldn't put any sexlab mods into a basic load profile.
chajapa Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 I have a CharacterCreation profile. It's vanilla, with the latest Unofficial Patches. No SexLab, Nothing extra. I *can* activate a custom race if the character I'm creating is not a vanilla race character. I just deactivate it when I'm done. I create a character and run them through to where they exit Helgen. Save as character_race-character_sex-OOH ("OOH" for Out of Helgen) So I might create a female Nord and that first save is saved as Nord-female-OOH Now I have a very clean character with nothing "extra" in the save. Any time I want to start a new Nord, female character I can transfer her to a different profile and go into Racemenu to change her appearance and name. After that, your profiles can have as many variations as you like. I typically run : Latest CBBE (3.3d now I think) Texture replacer for CBBE.... not even sure what the one I'm using is called... heheh SKSE 1.7.2 Scripts ( I installed the executables and dll etc into my base Skyrim and then I use MO to install everything else) SkyUI FNIS (completely installed through MO) SexLab SoulGem Oven II Remodeled Armors (ChronoTrigger) More Nasty Critters Creature Framework HDT 14.28 and anything that goes with that SL Romance SL MatchMaker SL CumReplacer SoS CBBE Strap-on pack XPMSE 2.36 skeleton Racemenu 3 Aroused Redux v16 Apachi Hair Natural Eyes The Eyes of Beauty All of the Devious Devices stuff... assets, integration, extension, piercings.... Univision Face for CBBE Fuz Ro Doh JContainers (I think I'm on 3.1....something) Apropos (don't leave home without it! Might be one of the absolute best mods I run) HDT High Heels system Random Sex SL Sound Replacer Milk Mod Economy.... because I just have to justify being a milk drinker That's pretty much a basic profile for me Then I add followers, a follower framework (I gravitate to AFT because it gives me the least problems, but I've been using the latest EFF too and it's getting better) I like Winterstone Castle with NPCs for player home. Convenient location. Not terribly complex. Lots of room for hanging at home with the ladies.... Rosa "Round Bottom" for a follower...... humma, humma, humma... gotta love dat ass.... New version of Sofia ... fully voiced... funny and annoying Still one of my favorites is Eryniel Elf. Am I just drawn to tattooed elves? I'm not sure... It'd take me forever, and then if I just posted my modlist that mod organizer populates, then it'd be full of resources that's not even being used in game, but is being picked over for stuff to put into my mod. Eh, it wasn't so bad because I keep all those things right next to eachother. All those armors are merged into 8 esp's and a lot of the hair mods are merged into a couple of esp's as well. If I didn't merge, I'd be sitting at 321 esp's rather than 191 The most recent stuff is a little bit messy since I've been distracted. Killing Joke Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Bare minimum for me are fixes/patches for vanilla game like USKP, it also includes improvements of all sort like SMIM, bring out your dead, SKSE, SkyUI and what not. Add on top of that racemenu and a bunch of plugins for it. But even for bodies, textures and everything else, I like to try different things so they aren't part of the bare minimum.
gvman3670 Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 I don't both making a profile to copy. It only takes maybe 10 minutes (or less) to create a new one, tick the mods you want in it, run LOOT, run FNIS and launch it. Maybe a bit longer if you have to run patchers, though. But that's it.

Definitely not body replacers or anything else, just wondering what other non-optional mods / hacks you always must have for any given mods setup. TBH i'm already having nightmares because there will be dozens of .ini tweaks and settings i have forgotten. Just hope it's not gonna take 2 months until i get the new MO install look and work as good as my current 1+ year old NMM install.

It only takes maybe 10 minutes (or less) to create a new one, tick the mods you want in it, run LOOT, run FNIS and launch it. Maybe a bit longer if you have to run patchers, though. But that's it. This is why I make a base profile all others rely upon, saves me the hassle of doing boring tasks like ticking a list of mods for 10 minutes.

But for me personally it's no good because by the time I make a new profile or two there's a new version of SKSE and other mods anyway. So if I did just copy a profile I'd still be updating or changing stuff anyway (I don't auto download or update, I save archives and install those instead).

Saved my ass a couple of times, just to reference every single file and setting of my old install when i need to. Now, after watching Gopher's MO documentations for solid 5 hours yesterday, i made the switch. Pretty surprised because even the things where he has problems are working for me out of the box with latest MO update. Maybe i'm just extremely smart when it comes to that PC stuff Just kidding, Gopher explains everything so thorough that you can't do anything wrong really. Going back directly to the OP: *: Body replaces and meshes confuse me. Especially weighted ones.You just need to have the right bodies (HDT-weighted vs TBBP vs anything) and outfits to begin with, and ALWAYS check the "conflicting files" info tab and "overwrite" folder. I see why and how people can mess things up if they ignore that when using MO.

Recently set fire to Nexus Mod Manager, said goodbye to my heavily modded character/save files and made the switch to Mod Organizer for greater stability and longevity, but now I'm wondering, What do you all run as your "Bare basics" profile that you tend to copy to create new character profiles?
