Hi all,

Well, A good 4 hours wasted trying to solve this (besides the 34 hours before it trying to install FNV with all the mods i need >.< ) so any help would really be appreciated.

I'm getting freezes / CTDs on startup, right after the first couple of logos appear.

Below are some observations I made

- Running Windows 8.1

- Using Mod Organizer to install mods / launching FNV4GB

- I back tracked the installed mods and it seems that the game starts normally without SexoutNG installed (latest 2.6.85 version)

- I'm Using latest NVSE (4.2beta4, installed in Fallout New Vegas directory) + FNV4GB 1.6

- I'm Using latest NVSE Extender (version 15, installed in data\nvse\plugins)

- I tried NVSE 4.2beta3, 4.2beta2 with NX 14 and 15. Same result.

- Using Astymma's compatibility skeleton.

- Using FNVEdit returns no errors with SexoutNG installed.

NVSE's log doesn't mention anything out of the ordinary. FNV4GB's log however has this at the end:

Please note that I'm running an gore-friendly version.

Well, I'm hitting a dead-end here, any help would be really appreciated. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks! :)

Not sure on how things work with mod organizer for fallout new Vagas as I have never used anything but FOMM fallout mod manager for my game.

I really doubt it has anything to do with Mod Organizer, but again i might be mistaken. The link here is the somewhere between NVSE, NX and FNV4GB... And as far as i know their functionality is outside of Mod Organizer's scope since they're installed out of it.

Most of us can't help you because we don't know how Mod Organiser works, we use FOMM.

Try running FNVEdit and see what the error messages say.

As i mentioned above, I did run FNVEdit, no errors were returned, the whole thing loaded like a charm.

Hehe, i should have known things won't be so simple after switching from NMM and FOMM. But the advantages of MO are really hard to ignore, the possibilities there are endless... If i ever got the game working that is, lol. Hopefully someone would pass by with a solution soon :)

Thanks anyways :)

Did you 'mess up' that log when pasting? The second to last line seems a bit boned. NX has its own gore/nogore detection stuff, if MO is trying to 'override' that, that might be the issue. You can try deleting the extender dll (nvse_extender.dll) and just leave the nogore one (nvse_extender_ng.dll) in place. See if that helps.

Note that in addition to most of us being FOMM users, most of us have not tried or tested the nogore version very much. I never have, despite being the author of NX. I just sort of cross my fingers and hope it works out properly.

Hi Prideslayer, well I just had it, Sexout not working along with the weird Archive Invalidation stability issues, I decided to switch back to NMM, now everything is pristine! I spent the whole day yesterday trying to re-install the game, clean what needs to be cleaned, patching and modding my way to victory! lol.

I'll just stick with Mod Organizer for Skyrim, NMM for FNV.. for now, until things get sorted out. Thanks man! :)

ps. I didn't know that the two extenders "NX and NX-NG" are made to work with the two different versions of the game.. interesting.

They have to be, since the NG version has a completely different game EXE -- all the memory locations that NVSE (and thus NX) needs to hook are different. When NVSE loads plugins, it will load both the gore and nogore NX DLLs. When they're loaded, NX checks which one is correct and unloads the other one (reports 'incompatible' to NVSE).

In this case, I might just test this with Mod Organizer, just to establish whether it would work or not, for future reference. I believe I haven't deleted the Mod Organizer setup I have, this should help. I'll report back with my findings.

Ok, noticed something, I started crashing at startup again while using NMM, I did some investigation and true enough, the fnv4gb log returned the same error as before with the NX-NG aborting startup and so i removed that extender, relaunched the game and I crashed, looking at the log, this time the NX extender was behind it.

I, Then, started removing Sexout Mods one by one and after removing Sexout Assault, the game launched, I disabled it, re-enabled the rest and again, CTD. Long story short; I managed to arrive at the conclusion that the extenders are kicking me out once I go beyond 154 active plugins; 154 plugins is fine, 155 is not which is weird because without the extenders active, I'm able to go beyond 155 plugins.

For now I'll look for more info and will do more testing to see what's up :)

Below is the fnv4GB log if anyone is interested:

I could be wrong but isn't 155 the max for plugins for fallout New Vegas? That could be the reason why you are crashing whenever you hit the limit or go over it the higher the chances for CTDs. Each game has a max limit of plugins that you can have active at one time going over it will result in CTD or adding max plugins may cause CTD's.

Technically you're right, you see the plugin is expandable to 255, however instabilities would kick in once you're beyond 139 plugins, and you might be correct regarding my inability to start the game with 155 plugins; I thought changing back to NMM would clear things for me and it did, but not the way I wanted it to, lol. an hour into the game with 144 plugins and all hell broke lose with textures misbehaving and whatnot.

A shame really, FNV is a great game with great mods begging to be installed. Although not 100% stable, Skyrim's improved version of Gamebryo engine is way more Capable than FO3/FNV's.

Now onto the tedious task of  merging and bashing :)

The fact is, you could be doing all this testing without worrying about overwriting any files, at any time. Mod Organizer is not responsible for any problems you've mentioned. In fact, MO can do just about anything, as long as you're willing to look at all of it's settings and options, and sometimes even it's files (like ModOrganizer.ini, for example)

I'll be happy to answer questions @Mod Organizer. A certain Team Member is excellent at FNV+MO inquiries. (you know who you are)

One post there, and you're good. ;)

LL is f***ing awesome!

Hey AwfulArchdemon,

Lol, I like your enthusiasm mate. I wish ive seen your post a couple days ago. Thanks for the offer though, but I sorted things out yesterday (yay!).

I do use mod organizer for Skyrim and I'm never looking back. In fact i managed to get it all working with FNV as well, the issue I had was just a weird combination of bad luck, ignorance (from my part :) ) and a bit of incompatibilities (non of which are related to SO tbh). All in all, it took me 5 installations of fnv+mods to get it right and at the end it was well worth it, an amazingly good looking FNV, a great balanced immersion pack and stable as a rock (so far, no stutters, no weird... Stuff... and most importantly, no CTD's!) AND it's sexout-ready!

Things I've learnt for those who might be interested in switching to MO:

- never go beyond 139 plugins (if ur looking for a stable setup. This applies to all mod managers btw) .

- pay extra attention when installing Unified HUD, oHUD and darnifiedUI + mods that are supported by them. (almost the nasties bit of using Mod Organizer)

- learn to bash, merge and patch mods (trust me, it's worth it).

Things you'll get for using MO:

- multiple gaming profiles (I have a male character Sexout profile with mods geared toward a male pc, a profile for a female pc with a different more female-related mods, and a clean profile for gun swinging action with its own set of mods.) THIS was my kryptonite.

- seperate INI's setup for each profile.

- disable and reenable mods with a tick. (great for on the go testing if needed).

- Auto Invalidation.

- profile-specific saves as well as universal saves.

- much much more!

MO does require a somewhat steep learning curve, but once learned, you'll want to use it for every game u have!

I guess I'll just shut up for now, lol. But seriously I'm also willing to answer questions to anyone who needs any help using MO. :)

Indeed, LL is awesome!
