dtim Posted July 14, 2014 Author Posted July 14, 2014 Hmm... I had growth enabled, but the console fixed things will test some more with a new kid... You know I am not sure if this mod goes by any other name, I got it off loverslab itself. Sky Children is the race which gets added. I should look into the ones you mentioned since I am not familiar with those. I guess using adult presets won't matter as much if there is compatibility with the other child mods. Its just that the vanilla textures are lame... Actually, I managed to confused myself. They shouldn't just stop growing with upgrading to 1.1. Still, let me know if new children do grow and old do not. If they're still not growing, I'll test some more but it looks to be working fine in my game right now. Okay, so Sky Children is a custom race basically. I'll look into it.
MortiferusX Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 is it possible to give the childs a Custom style like "Children of the Sky" or "RS Children"?

dtim Posted July 17, 2014 Author Posted July 17, 2014 is it possible to give the childs a Custom style like "Children of the Sky" or "RS Children"? Cricgck Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 the Xvision children issue now is solved... now to wait the RSchildrem update
dtim Posted July 18, 2014 Author Posted July 18, 2014 I'm working on the RS Children compatibility and I've run into a problem, so I'm posting this to see how people who use both mods would like me to solve it. The problem: RS Children Overhaul uses "female" (I won't get into the technicalities) shapes and textures for the children changed by the mod. This is fine except for the male elves (including orcs). I can't match up male elven heads with RS Children's textures and bodies. I can solve this one of two ways: 1) Use female elven heads with RS Children textures. 2) Use male elven heads with textures from some other addon. There's additional issues with this second method in that the head shape still won't quite match up to the body but it looks like the problem would only be visible if you are fairly close and looking at the child from below. Also the head texture's are not going to match as well against the body textures. I will minimize the difference as much as possible but it will be there. I'll wait a couple of days and see what responses I get before continuing.
Cricgck Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 can't you give the elf children ears as an item? ... like this mod.http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/21459/?
dtim Posted July 19, 2014 Author Posted July 19, 2014 can't you give the elf children ears as an item? ... like this mod. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/21459/? Okay, so a third option, I suppose. That would have the drawback of no orc tusks unless I can find a similar addon for that.
bobx3 Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 I tried xvision and I am experiencing an issue with the hair textures floating above the child's head. Any ideas?

dtim Posted July 19, 2014 Author Posted July 19, 2014 I tried xvision and I am experiencing an issue with the hair textures floating above the child's head. Any ideas? Alright, help me fix the problem by answering some questions. Is this one of the children born from this mod? If not, then you probably need one of the additional Xvision mods that adjust NPCs for the expansions. If yes, then you should be able to fix it by going into the MCM menus, Child Details page, and give it a different hairstyle. Did you have Children+SoulGems installed before the compatibility mod was released? If you did, was the child born before or after installing the Xvision compatibility? Is it just the one child or all born from this mod?
dtim Posted July 19, 2014 Author Posted July 19, 2014 Well, how do you know the orc children have tusks? they may appear when they reach the five-teens? For me it's not as much an issue of lore as of distinguishing characteristics. Fewer characteristics means that the children start to look the same and that was one of the big complaints with the vanilla children. Anyway, if you (and others using RS Children) are fine with it, then it's fine with me.

You would lose all the distinct hair styles for the elven races. So please look at the first two options again and let me know. To help decide, here are some pictures of the two options. I can probably get the color of the male head to be a little closer, but this is pretty close to as good as it gets.
Cricgck Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 the first one looks better... if you can fix the color mismatch then It would be perfect...
bobx3 Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 The kid was born from the mod before I downloaded and installed the xvision patch. I only have the xvision "complete" mod installed, and it covers all of the DLC's. Changing hairstyles didn't do a whole lot. The "very short: option also floats like the "normal" option. The "curly" option did manage to "attach" to the skull, but was shifted backwards a little which made the kid look like he was balding.

Double check the load order of the mods. It should be: XvisionChildren.esm ... Children+SoulGems.esm Children+SoulGemsXvision.esp Children+SoulGemsDragonborn.esp (if you have it, actually this order of this one doesn't matter so much) Then try reinstalling the Xvision compatibility module. Find an area with no children present Go the the Children + Soul Gems MCM menu, choose the "Module Information" screen Click the "Uninstall" text next to "Xvision Children compatibility". Wait for dialogue prompt indicating uninstallation finished then save your game. Exit Skyrim and disable the Children+SoulGemsXvision.esp addon. Run Skyrim and load the save game and then save a new file. Exit Skyrim and enable the Children+SoulGemsXvision.esp addon. Run Skyrim and load the most recent save. Check the hair on the child. Let me know if it worked.

I should have made it more clear that it just didn't need to be updated.

RCOTS is an updated version of Children of the Sky? Looks like it's not being supported anymore either. Not sure which version to use then. I'll have to think about it. Edit: Looks like the mods have removed RCOTS for rules violations. I'm not touching it.
