PsychoMachina Posted August 3, 2016 Author Posted August 3, 2016 I think a skeleton edit is preferable since direct scaling the feet mesh would also require making the same modifications for all of their armors.
Mephykuns Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 So is the base models posed like the skyrim t pose right? so it could be easy to convert them or whatever. Willl if you ever get around to doing the lyns, i would very hyped about it
TehDanno Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 I just got Skyrim today and know totally nothing about modding it. I read over the first post and am completely overwhelmed. Many of the things you said that are needed or are optional there aren't links to, and I need to search for them on this website or? All in all I'd like to get to a point where I can have a Elin as a follower, just I fear it might take me hours/days to try and figure it all out with how old and scattered all the information and mods are at this point from all the work done over the past years.
PsychoMachina Posted August 4, 2016 Author Posted August 4, 2016 I just got Skyrim today and know totally nothing about modding it. It does look overwhelming since everything is new to you. I'll provide a run-down on what to install and in which order. I highly recommend making backups of whatever mod you download just in case you need them later. I'm referring to the files in their archived state (.7z, .zip, or .rar) not the files after you install them. ---------------------------- Regarding the layout of the first post. UPDATES For information purposes. Any new files will be included in the FILES AVAILABLE list and in the INSTALLATION list. FILES AVAILABLE For information purposes. Shows what files are available and what purpose they serve (Main-Optional-Fixe/Patch, Required or Optional). MODS - REQUIRED MODS - INSTALLATION ORDER This shows what mods to install and when to install them based on their order on the given list. The are broken down into 3 steps: 3rd Party Mods (labeled as General Installation on the Elin 1 page). Required Elin 2 Mods. Optional Elin 2 Mods. Install Step 1. 3rd PARTY MODS Download and install these mods based on their order; first on the list is installed first, second on the list is installed second, third on the list is installed third and so on. FNIS is NOT required anymore because the Elin idle animations do not work with the latest version of FNIS, however, it is required for most custom animations either here at Loverslab or at Nexus. Download anyway just in case. Here are the remaining links I did not add to the first post. These can be installed anytime after you install SKSE and SkyUI (both required for the camera mods only. FNIS does not require SKSE or SkyUI). Enhanced 3rd Person Camera http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/29990/? Enhanced Camera (for 1st Person Camera)(fixes a bug with the camera when used with small races) http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/57859/? FNIS http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/11811/? Install Step 2. ELIN 2 MAIN PACKAGE These 2 files contain the main race files that adds Elin 2 to the game...INSTALL ONLY ONE. 2015Dec22 MAIN TeraElin2 v3 (contains the unmodified ears and tails; they do not change colors with the hairs). 2015Dec22 MAIN TeraElin2 Color Match Edition v3 (the ears and tails are modified to change colors with the hairs, ie., match colors). Install Step 3. ELIN 2 OPTIONAL FILES These can be installed in any order AFTER you are done with INSTALL STEP 1 and 2. IMPORTANT The Elin 2 main packages already contain the Elin (English) voice files. The Japanese Elin voice files that is available separately is similar to the English voice files, but without any voices for the dragon shouts. The AIO (All-In-One) hairpacks are downloaded from a file storage site because LoversLab has a 100MB file limit. If you install both AIO hairpacks, expect the game to lag when selecting those hairs in the character customization menu. Since this is your first time modding Skyrim, I suggest first trying idothe regular (no HDT) hairs since, I'm guessing, you are not familiar with the idiosyncrasies of HDT physics. The Tera Elin 2 Idle animation and the Tera Elin 2 Dance Idle animations do not work with the latest FNIS so you need not bother install these. Elin 2 NPC Creation Fix Kit is only needed when you want to create a new Elin NPC or change an existing NPC to become an Elin. The files are installed manually and instruction are included. The Creation Kit is required for creating and editing NPCs. If you do not plan on creating or editing the game or mods then you do not need to install the Creation Kit. FINALLY - LOAD ORDER Correct load order ensures the mods work as intended and/or the game does not crash. The following list is the basics provided you only installed the files I have listed. MASTER FILES (game always load these first) RaceCompatibility.esm TeraElinRace.esm TeraElin AIO HairPack.esm TeraElin AIO HDT HairPack.esm PLUGINS (game loads these AFTER the Master files) SkyUI.esp ElinRaceVoice.esp EnhancedCharacterEdit.esp CharacterMakingExtender.esp [Any Elin 2 optional files would be here] Enhanced 3rd Person Camera v1.2.esp XPMSE.esp Done! One final note. I do not know if you are using a mod manager, Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) or Mod Organizer (MO). I use MO exclusively so I can't be of any help if you use NMM. LOOT https://loot.github.io/ You may need to install and use LOOT (Load Order Optimisation Tool) to help with correctly arranging your load order. It's not absolutely perfect, but it can prevent some cases of crashing or bugs due to Masters or Plugins being loaded by the game in the incorrect order. Hope this helps. If you have anymore questions just ask. I can't always respond quickly rather whenever I have the opportunity.
TehDanno Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 So search for MASTER FILES (game always load these first) RaceCompatibility.esm TeraElinRace.esm TeraElin AIO HairPack.esm TeraElin AIO HDT HairPack.esm PLUGINS (game loads these AFTER the Master files) SkyUI.esp ElinRaceVoice.esp EnhancedCharacterEdit.esp CharacterMakingExtender.esp [Any Elin 2 optional files would be here] Enhanced 3rd Person Camera v1.2.esp XPMSE.esp All of those on this site? That's where I get lost, in figuring out where and if and what versions are correct ones. Also shouldn't NMM or MO be like the 3rd thing installed after the camera mods? Or does that not matter and just the camera mods first then FNIS. Also the mintion of the "AIO" that's stored on a storage site but search forums here for a link to said storage site? I'm pretty OCD and a very detailed person, not sure if I'm making things more complicated or not. lol Only game I've ever moded was Jedi Knight Jedi Academy and everything was super easy to find and figure out on the old school mod site for that. Now even looking back at that things are scattered all across the internet and can't even find the original site for it anymore.
PsychoMachina Posted August 5, 2016 Author Posted August 5, 2016 Also shouldn't NMM or MO be like the 3rd thing installed after the camera mods? First, NMM and MO are mod managers. These are apps that install, manage, and uninstall mods. You need to install them BEFORE you install any mods. I only use MO and it's more complicated compared to NMM, but once you are familiar with the many features and know how to use it, MO is a great tool. Here are some tutorials on how to use Mod Organizer. Youtube Link Here are tutorials on how to use Nexus Mod Manager Or does that not matter and just the camera mods first then FNIS. Enhanced Camera (1st person camera mod) requires SKSE so install SKSE first then install Enhanced Camera anytime afterwards. No other mod will overwrite it or be overwritting by it. Enhanced 3rd Person Camera requires SKSE and SkyUI so install those mods first (SKSE then SkyUI) then Enhanced 3rd Person Camera. Again, it will not overwrite any other mods or be overwritten by other mods. FNIS is a tool that allows custom animations to be added to the game. You do not install it like a mod and you only need to use it if you want to use custom animations or mods that include it's own animations. Do not install FNIS for the Elin idle or Elin dance idle since those custom animations do not work with the latest FNIS. Also the mintion of the "AIO" that's stored on a storage site but search forums here for a link to said storage site? The All-In-One hairpacks are stored in my MEGA account. The links are in the first post. Look for " Files Available (as of 2015 March 08)" under that look for "These files need to be downloaded offsite." The links to the AIO hairs are there just click on "(MEGA)' The mods I listed in the first post can be found in 4 places: Nexusmods, MEGA or another file storage service, another mod authors own site, and LoverslLab. If a mod is required and needs to be downloaded from any of the first 3 sites, I will include a link next to or under the mod name or file name (look for and click on the blue 'Download', 'Download Link', or 'Link'). If there are no links posted and the mod is something I uploaded, you will find it at the mod's own Download page. For Elin 2 it's this... http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/1172-2016june24-fixed-download-links-to-the-aio-hairpacks-tera-elin-race-2/ The link can also be found at the bottom of the first post. Once you go to the download page, you will see a big, green DOWNLOAD button near the top-right. Click on that and you will be taken to the LoversLab Download Manager. The Elin files and any other mod files (not featuring a download link in the first post) can be downloaded here.
TehDanno Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 I think I got it working for the most part, not sure if I'm missing anything. Managed to do the first few quest and work my way out of the town without noticing any issues. Though one thing I'm wondering about is I tried the bikini removal edit. The files I edited weren't numbered the same way as yours and it was for underwear and not bikini. When I file edit removed the underwear then removed armor in game it made my game crash. lol
PsychoMachina Posted August 7, 2016 Author Posted August 7, 2016 Crashing when removing armor tends to be skeleton related specifically, the skeleton is missing. The Elins use their own so you will need to check if their skeleton was installed. Go to DATA > MESHES > ACTORS > TERA ELIN subfolder and you should see 2 skeletons: skeletonbeast.nif skeletonbeast_female.nif If you are using Mod Organizer, go to where you installed MO, open the 'ModOrganizer' directory then open the 'MODS' subdirectory. Locate the folder containing the Elin 2 main files, it should have the same name or close to it as the name of the file archive. Open that subdirectory and go to MESHES > ACTORS > TERA ELIN. The Elins are female so they would use 'skeletonbeast_female.nif' so if it's missing, you will need to reinstall the Elin 2 main pack. If the skeleton is there then the problem is the body meshes. You mentioned you removed the bikini underwear. To be sure, reinstall the main files and run Skyrim. Remove her armor. If it did not crashed then it's safe to say the problem was an error editing the body meshes. Let me know if that is the cause and I'll send you the edited body via private message.
TehDanno Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 I have Elin Elin 2 ElinRace Main Pack all installed, the only one I can find proper .nifs in or has any nifs showing underwear is the 2chElin folder. The 2chElin Fix nifs don't show any of the unddies textures so I'm guessing it's loading from 2chElin. But yeah the skeletonfemale.nif is in both of those. I've tested back and forth and when I remove the branch of the only thing I can guess is for the underwear because it pixelates them with green mesh when I click the branch then remove branch and try to start game it crashes. Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out, it was because I wasn't fully deleting the whole branch and was only deleting the first branch within the underwear branch itself. Also do you have any outfits suggestions? Or is FoxMerged 2 about it? Oh and I somehow gave myself two tails by mistake, think one might be from my cat ears and the other is from my hairstyle. lol :\ Not sure if there's anyway to fix it at this point.
PsychoMachina Posted August 7, 2016 Author Posted August 7, 2016 So you are playing Elin 1 which contains the 2chElin folders (Elin 2 does not). It's good to know you found the cause of the crashing. As for armors, FoxMerged 2 is a good source. For Elin armor that looks like the original from Tera, you need to install AddItemMenu (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/64905/?) which allows you to transfer the armors from the Summon Elin Ring plugin. These armors use the original Elin bodies which is the default body when you install Elin 1. After you install AddItemMenu, wait until you get a message on the top left of the screen that a new menu was added. Now go into your inventory and you should see the AddItem v2 activator. Click on it and a new menu should appear listing all of the plugins. Select the SummonElinRing.esp and AddItemMenu will turn it into a container that you can transfer the contents to your own inventory. Go ahead and transfer the armors, but not the heads. I converted some of the Tera Armors by asianboy345 and probably will do the same for the Tera Armors by s666. I'll release them when done. EDIT Regarding the double tails, there are 2 sliders that will add the Elin ears and tail sets: HAIRS slider. The ears and tails are part of the Elin hairs. You will see some hairs missing the ears, those are for use without the ears/tails or with the HDT ears/tails. ADDITIONS slider. These are for the standalone HDT ears and tails. They do not come with hairs so you will have to select the hair separately. If you find your Elin with 2 ears and/or tals you can either move the ADDITIONS slider to the far left to select 'no' HDT ears/tails or change hairs that do not come with the Elin ears/tails.
TehDanno Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Hmm so I'm using Elin 1? Thought it was 2, it was labeled as 2016 something in one of your files pages. The way files are on here is confusing. I've found like 2-3 pages of yours with different dates on them. Like if i go to your profile and click your files from your profile it just shows 8 most recent which is a lie because theyre all from 2015. Then from using google i managed to find a different files list page of yours on here with mods from 2016... lol The so called Elin2 i have in my MO is from that japanese link you have on your elin2 thread since that's the only link on that page that's remotely Elin related. All the other Elin stuff is just file names.... Even within all your hidden Spoiler buttons and stuff. I originally made a post about this issue but deleted it all once i managed to get some working form of Elin stuff going. So is there no way to change my appearance once my character is made and from a savedgame file? This would be alot easier if there was a way to view ALL your download mod links at one time. Instead of hidden backpages of them within the site. Lol... Or if could actually provide the links in they threads rather then just file names. Though I don't know if it's something to do with LL's policies to make everything cloak and dagger or what. Like even with that foxed merged links back page profile place over half the files there aren't even anything real and one of the files is just random letters and numbers... lol Haven't gotten a chance to test the one seemingly legit file from his downloads link page yet due to work. :\
PsychoMachina Posted August 8, 2016 Author Posted August 8, 2016 To clearly differentiate to 2 types of Elins, I simply added 'Tera' to the Elin 2 race name. Other than uploading screenshots to show me which Elin you are playing just enter into the character customization (console command showracemenu) and it will start at the race you are currently playing. Tera Elin = Elin 2 Elin = Elin 1 LoversLab does not have a way to organize the files according to priorities or purposes like the system used at Nexus. Whenever I release a new file or update a previously available file, whether it's the required main package or any of the options, I always include the current date to the file so that people will know it's the latest. The package could contain a patch/fix, or some minor improvements, but instead of merely releasing them as separate downloads, which can add up and become confusing, I add them to the appropriate package and upload it as an update. so you will have old files mixed with the new. I don't know anything about forum software, but the feature that shows recent files uploaded (from my profile) really show ALL files that were uploaded in decending order according to when they were added to the system. Maybe there is a way to only show the most current release, but the admin, Ashal, is using old software and had to make do with streamlining the site to make it run as smooth as possible even if it means turn off features or changing how they work. Final note, I have to ask you, "what kind of Elin do you want to use, the original from the Tera Online or something a little more customizable?" If you want to replicate the Tera Online Elins then go with Elin 1 (in-game name = ELIN)...http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/301-2016-june-22-uploaded-japanese-elin-voice-pack-tera-elin-race/ If you want an Elin that is more customizable, but is not a replica of the original then go with Elin 2 (in-game name = TERA ELIN)...http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/1172-2016june24-fixed-download-links-to-the-aio-hairpacks-tera-elin-race-2/ Don't install both if it's confusing you.
TehDanno Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 So is that all that the changes are with Elin 2 is more customizable options? Already seem to be alot with just what I have, i think. Also i thought i got elin 2 from that Japanese site and even have a mod in my MO that says Elin 2. But i guess it's loading the 2016 main package file i have. Lol I was talking a look at the Elin DLC file page - links earlier today too. Noticed there's like 8 files when i click the link for the DLC, guessing one of them is the actual DLC while the others are just optionals. Saw the dance on there but it's still not working with FNIS 6.2? Any chance that will ever be updated? Also not sure which files are the DLC or what some of thoses files do. Like one replaces the orphans in game with elin? Too bad the guy that made the Eliness town never released that or gave information on how to on the youtube video.
PsychoMachina Posted August 9, 2016 Author Posted August 9, 2016 Currently there is Tera Elin 2 version 3 and Tera Elin version 2. Check that you have Elin 2 and not Elin version 2. You mentioned in an earlier post that you were looking through the 2chElin folders, those are from Tera Elin version 2 (aka, Elin 1) so it could be you mistook Elin v2 (update 2 of Elin 1) for Elin 2 (alternative to Elin 1). I was talking a look at the Elin DLC file page - links earlier today too. What Elin DLC page? It can not be my Elin DLC Additions post because I never uploaded any DLCs which is illegal and definitely forbidden in LL. Too bad the guy that made the Eliness town never released that or gave information on how to on the youtube video. Did not know what you were talking about so I searched 'Eliness town' and found a Youtube vid showing a personally made 'town'. This is one of those "look at what I have" vids and not meant to be publicly available and that is why he disabled comments.
TehDanno Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Well I'm not sure what I downloaded from that Japanese website you have a link to in your first post on this thread, all I know is it shows up as Elin 2 in my MO. lol About the "DLC" stuff I mentioned I was talking about your "Tera Elin 1 - DLC Additions" link on your sig, and all the downloads on that page. These downloads. " Download 2013Dec18_Dawnguard_ElinSerana.7z 172.94KBDownload ElinRace NPC - Added Hearthfires Housecarl.7z 481.53KBDownload Hearthfires-Elin Orphans-All Girls Option.7z 274.22KBDownload Hearthfires-Elin Orphans-Lucia+Sofie.7z 1.98MBDownload Hearthfires-Lakeview Manor Extended-Elin NPC Complete.7z 1.58MBDownload Hearthfires-Lakeview Manor Extended-Elin NPC.7z 462.11KBDownload Sky+DLC_No Hearthfires--Elin Mannequins v2.0.7z 828.04KBDownload Sky+DLC--Elin Mannequins v2.0.7z
PsychoMachina Posted August 10, 2016 Author Posted August 10, 2016 First thing you must do is not download from the Chinese site (it's not Japanese) because it's for Chinese players. Second, all of the files from the DLC Additions post are optional replacers for mannequins, Hearthfires/Dawnguard NPCs, and NPCs from the Lakeview Manor Extended mod. You will need the Hearthfires and/or Dawnguard DLC available from Steam, I do not provide those DLCs, and the Lakeview Manor Extended mod from Nexus (link posted).
PsychoMachina Posted August 10, 2016 Author Posted August 10, 2016 UPDATE - Patch for Tera Elin Dance Idle Animation when using FNIS 6.x I discovered why the Dance idle stopped working when FNIS upgraded to version 6.x. The 'idlebehavior.hkx' patch is considered a temporary fix until a better solution is found. If I have not found a better fix then this patch will remain as a viable solution.
TehDanno Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Oh sorry if it seemed like I was talking about Official Skyrim DLCs. lol I bought all Official stuff already. Was just asking about the Elin DLC stuff. Though still a few questions. Like the differences between Elin 1 and Elin 2, is it just more custom options? Other question is how to make all the children Elins. Like I saw in your Bearzerk video the kids were Elin and ran up and started listening to them play music. lol I've been tempted to try doing the Bearzerk thing, but looking over the needed mod list and load order kind of made me not want to attempt it since half that stuff is a super pain in the ass to even find on here in LL. With how all the file hosting is and having to search through threads to find the correct and up to date links to the download link/pages. Also for your updated dance, not sure where to look for that either. lol Co-worker of mine that I guess has been to LL in the past to mod his skyrim even acknowledged how difficult and confusing it can be to find/get files off here at times.
PsychoMachina Posted August 11, 2016 Author Posted August 11, 2016 Elin 1 is more representative of the Elins from the game Tera. Elin 2 is more for those who want an Elin that does not look exactly like the Elins from Tera, hence the extra customizations to alter the head and face. The Elin Bard+Bearzerk seems daunting because of the method of installation and that it creates the files on-the-fly. It's suppose to be an alternative to using FNIS though it is based somewhat on FNIS. Modding Skyrim is new to you so it can be confusing. Many of the required mods, such as SKSE, FNIS, SkyUI, ECE, and RaceMenu, can not be reuploaded to other sites either by themselves or packed together with other mods. This adds to the confusion for newcomers because they would have to go to other sites to download and install them as per instructions by the mod authors. Some of those mods may also require installing additional mods which just compounds the confusion. Just take it slowly and become familiar with the mods I listed as some or most are required for many of the mods available here, Nexus, or other mod sites. Don't try to take it all in immediately as that will end in frustration and problems.
Mephykuns Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 Do tera elin 2 have mouth opening animations? i can kinda see face animations but not by much as the player character seems always has a blank expression
PsychoMachina Posted August 14, 2016 Author Posted August 14, 2016 Do tera elin 2 have mouth opening animations? i can kinda see face animations but not by much as the player character seems always has a blank expression Yes, but they are not fully defined like the human races. The Elins also lack the big, open mouth animations.
Thermalpulse Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 I can't open the main files nor use them with any mod manager, both 7-Zip and ExtractNow just keep giving me the "Archive Open Error" 7-Zip mentions an "unexpected end of data" so I'm guessing it's just corrupt. I've re-downloaded the file several times to make sure it wasn't just a download-caused corruption. On a side note, I'm having no issues opening the Optional files.
