I should point out that kudos for the animations goes to ShadeAnimator. I think I'm already on record here, but I'll join in with everyone else saying "great work"

Posted

well now ...

First of all, this is with zero offset separating the actors, which worked before. I just hadn't realised that the animation would play properly with them both at the same co-ords. it's possible shade set it up like that and if so it's possibly a way forward.

Secondly, the whole thing doesn't have three messageboxes of text interrupting just as it gets going, which could have a bearing in a multi-threaded environment.

Thirdly, it's possibly I just plain got it wrong. I'd had a hell of a time at work and really was too tired to be trying some thing like that.

interestingly debug.togglecollisions doesnt do the same thing as tcl, it seems, so testing with tcl isn't necessarily valid. I've not yet tested with ghosting.

I have however found a way to stop them from fucking once the get started, which is good.

Excuse typos, I -have a ginger and cream kitten "helping" me type tj+is message.

[edit]

OK. Debug.ToggleCollisions works. SetGhost doesn't and has the groin box effect I mentioned earlier. I suppose there's a legitmate reason for that, since it would keep actual game ghosts from walking through one another.

So that means we're ok for player sex, and for anything which runs as part of a scene where the player wouldn't expect to move. But any third party scenes are going to let the PC walk through walls and sink into the ground. So we still need a better fix.

Still, that's miles better than we were a couple of days ago.

I came across this tidbit (about an ini tweak) and it may not be useful but I thought I should mention it anyway just in case: LINK

I also had a question: Would it be possible to make it so players can get a more realistic 1st-person viewpoint while in the animations? The mod "Real 1st Person View" seems to do this well.

Got to be worth a shot.

Currently' date=' I have something that looks like it might do for PC sex acts. The player animations aren't getting as close as the npc ones do ... but maybe we can cope with that to begin with at least.

I need to test with some more poses and animations ... but I think I have something that will do a lot of what we need.

Well, the simplest approach would be to use Real 1st Person View to get the same effect. I'll test with it to make sure it doesn't break anything. I could quite appreciate that perspective myself :)

Sense a few others posted that they like the idea of having something mord sith themed included in the mod I think I am going to try to make an ageil that I can hand off to one of the more experienced modders to mess with.

My plan is to start with a mace as a place holder mesh but the ageil will really work more like a staff. I'm thinking the effect will be a channeled spell. Maybe a touch or very short range target spell that does damage to the opponents health and stamina and has the slow effect' date=' but also does damage to the wielder while it is not sheathed.

I also hope to get it so that it can also be used in a non lethal way for training and such, but I'm not going to try to implement that alone.

[/quote']

I don't know about the books, never read them, but in the TV show the ageil seems to cause only pain, and only kills the target if it's used too long. The only way I could think of this being translated into the game would be for it to take out stamina first, then health when the stamina bar is depleted. I don't know if there's a way to do that, but it's an idea. I agree that the effect should be channeled.

Additionally, the adept Mord Sith could ignore the pain caused by the ageil, so maybe make it something that does less and less damage to the user over time as they grow immune? Just a thought.

(incidentally, my favorite episode is the one in which Richard is kept as Denna's boy slave)

Edit: Oh! What if there was a Mord Sith perk tree? And one of the perks could be a reduction in damage received from the ageil? I like this idea a lot, I might come up with something for that.

In the books the morth sith have power to counter magic and use your own magic against you.

The ageil does more than pain,it can even break bones.

The Denna episode...surprise surprise :-)

There was also a mod on the nexus called Shalidor's Mirror, or something like that. It was a ward spell that reflected spells back at the attacker. Can't find it on there anymore, but I'll keep digging for it.

Edit: I think this might be it.

Jup, Also stumbeld over that one, It's not the one I remember but would do quite nicely I think

Yeah I've had some very in depth thoughts about how the mord with would play in skyrim and I think all of their powers and traits could be handled with spell effects already in the game.

I'm glad my ideas are being received well.

I guess it's time I start messing around with the CK.

Posted

Yes, totally. I want to play as a Mord Sith and torture my victims into submission, all while wearing sexy dark red leather outfits. Oh, and the hair braid, don't forget that!

Posted

Well after mucking around in the CK for the first time today, I have succesfully made a staff that looks like the Shiv, which has a custom enchantment working, but I'm not happy with the results at all so far.

I think I'm gunna call it quits for today. Maybe tomorrow after I read a few tutorials and stuff I'll make a better Agiel.

I did manage to piss off Sven waving the thing at him. I also made it so that I took damage to stamina while casting, but never got them working at the same time...

Maybe someone else with the knowledge and desire will figure this out before I do, but I think I will keep at it. I gotta learn this stuff somehow and diving right in is my style.

Hey, that human book thing before looked really good, but it seems there was information I missed. Is there/could someone write a wiki page on it?

Posted

The aegil and the Mord Sith power ar prolly 2 different things. The thing with the aegil is it should work by touch, not even hitting with it.

The magic power no idea how to steal powers, but its a defence mechanisme against magic(since they're more than able to defend against mellee ^^ ) so...not sure maybe drain all mana + 0 mana regen? or xxx mana debuf?

Posted

I've tried making a staff with a magic effect that has a touch effect... unfortunately it seems it is not possible. When I had such an effect as the staff enchantment there is no attack/cast animation and the weapon is basically just a useless hand decoration.:s

It also seems that it is not possible to put enchantment with different targets on the staff at the same time. So I can't get it to affect both the target and caster at the same time.

Does anyone else have any ideas about how to get around this with out writing a script specifically for the weapon?

Posted

If it was me, I'd make a sword, (or maybe a dagger) and give it the art for the staff. So it gets sword wielding animations, and can use a swords enchantment styles, but still looks like a staff.

Posted

I'm so inspired by all this talk of the Mord Sith that I'm going to write up a scenario for the SSG that incorporates a small sect of all-female slavers. They won't actually be the Mord Sith, but they'll come close enough, and they'll use the ageil.

Edit: Here you go. Please keep in mind, this is a WIP and will probably be heavily revised and edited as I go.

I think that I will have to make it a melee weapon, as you suggest. I just wanted to get the effect it had to be channeled, but I don't think that it's going to happen. After I get the enchantment working how I want I plan on making a mesh to use so it will look very much like an actual agiel(Depending on my ability).
