Are you supposed to remain in the auction house with the SD outcome?

yes. Your new master will take over in the auction house. The travel package should start at that point, so the master should leave soon after. If he doesn't, head out the door. You'll be punished for walking off, but it should get things moving.

If it's not connecting you to a master, that's a different question.

Thanks for the reply. I haven't used SS since a much earlier version and wasn't sure what was supposed to happen now. So I get the "follow me" bit but nothing happens afterward. The owner will just wonder around the room. Going outside will trigger "follow me" again but then will just wonder around outside the auction house. I had 4.7 installed, saw there was a 4.71 so I changed to that. Same problem. I'm guessing there is a conflict with another mod. I'm not too heavy on mods right now so I'll try to turn some things off and see if it works.
this is on a new game?
I started it from a save file just past helgen with no mods installed. Does that not qualify as "new game"?
no. I understand what you're trying to do, and setting up a million mods in the mcm is a pain, but the only chance you will ever have at the most stable game possible is from an actual brand new game. Any time you add or subtract a mod after the game has started, no matter how early on, sends a small crack through the stability.

Edit: I know you said "with no mods installed", but this still holds true. ;)

So if I launch skyrim from steam without MO to bypass installed mods (the intro doesn't seem to like FNIS at all).  Then I complete the character creation and helgen bits, save, exit, launch through MO, load save, reinstall whatever VIA MCM and reconfigure all settings, then I pass as a new game?

launch from steam? Good lord, no. First of all, aren't you using skyrim unbound or live another life?

Start the game through skse (via mo) with all your mods already installed. If it has trouble with fnis, you need to get that fixed. We have lots of mo experts here.

However, why would I want to buy a slave when I can just go in the wild and beat a bandit into submission?

there are some users who have too much gold lining their pockets and the other possibilit is better slaves from an auction block than from the wild or a bit of both

what sort of issues are you having with the intro scene and fnis - if you're talking flying carts, disable all your mods from mo except for fnis and see for sure if that's the issue there - from what i've heard, that's an issue from too many mods attempting to install stuff at that time. some mods like devious devices will use a delayed start to get around that bug

You are most probably correct about the issue.  It was awhile ago but I recall many attempts to start a new game followed by many problems with the carts, not always the exact same thing.  They generally would not move and the player character would be out of position, I think I did see them fly around once.  So I disabled mods looking for what the problem was and probably it just happened to work after I stopped FNIS and so I assumed that was the problem mod.

I should probably do as jfraser said and install one of the alternate start mods.  Never was particularly interested in what they did but if it helps with the modding angle then I am fine using them.

Thanks for the helpful responses both of you.  I think I understand how to go about it now.

live another life gives you the option to use the vanilla beginning with the benefit of having the opportunity to load all your mods and get everything set up first. also, if you use lal or su, you can get escape the cell to give you new stories to start with. ;)

passing the word around, we have a response from pinky here

passing this request along from simple slavery if anybody here wants to try something like this:

interesting so anyone can walk through the door to the auction house? I can just see it where you play as a male character go to the auction block and buy one of the slaves there if that was possible

yes to the first, no to the second. I agree that that would be a logical step, but that is beyond my ability. That said, of someone wants to make such a mod using the SS market, feel free. ;)

Maybe a patch that merged Paradise Halls Enhanced with Simple slavery? I already play with both in my loadorder ;)
Probably with Paradise Halls: Home Sweet Home instead. Doesn't allow to buy a slave per say, but you can sell yours at the restless hunter. PAHE is mostly about capturing slaves, it all depend on CliftonJD.
if I understand these mods properly, that's incorrect. Home just gives you a place to store slaves. You need PAHE to do the enslaving. A simple patch could work like this: the player enters the SS market and the auction happens, which is the part I don't know how to implement. How to make a bidding war between NPC's and the player?

One slighty non-immersive way would be to have the player speak to the auctioneer and give the number he wants to bid, then the NPC's are assigned random numbers. If the player has the highest bid, they win. More like a silent auction. There might be a way to make the player's bid into a global or something, then call it during a scene, if globals can be called in scenes.

Anyway, if the player wins, they either use PAHE'S enslavement function to enslave their prize or maybe that can be coded into the mod. Not sure how that works.

So the basic functionality is sort of easy to work out. You'd need a lot of NPC's to use as the slaves, stick then on the platform disabled, then enable the next once one gets bought.

The HSH mod already has an auction (which it says you can bid in - not used the option myself but seen it appear) in the basement of the Inn so wouldn't jfraser be able to copy that but in the simple slavery auction house though kind of confused as i would have thought you could do everything originally mentioned in HSH (tick questline is optional, wait for 3 slaves to appear in the inn and do an auction) so seems a lot of effort

I have no idea what my issue could be. However as it stands when I get sent to the market the following happens.

> Brought onto stage.

> Quick flash of Dialogue I can't read.

> Nothing except standing there.

Did you install Fuz-Ro-Doh?

Yes, I made sure to grab all the recommended mods. I'm having a similar issue with Slaverun Reloaded. Yet in standard (w/enforcer) i get it no problem.

I apologize, I do not mean to infer anything by this, but please open up your mod manager and double check that Fuz is actually installed. I know this sounds stupid, but that has proven to be the issue pretty much every time this has happened, and others thought they had it installed but found that it somehow was not.

Haha no worries, I get you mean. Installing and activating the mods was something I caught on with right away. It was things like FNIS, and Loot that took me a bit.

On point though yeah Fuz is installed, the current version is 6.0?

As aside I got somewhere by eventually leaving the stage and leaving the actual market.

New save, however I'm still getting some crashes once I fully load into the main cage at the start. I've also been using the MCM and chosen at least 1 outcome. As it goes it still relies on me leaving the building in order to be sold.

Last few times I've gone through the slave market, I end up at my destination still chained with my arms over my head.  I can move around but it looks like I'm just sliding on my toes. Once the camera got stuck in a fixed 3rd person directly behind me position, I couldn't rotate to see my front.  Is something not happening at the end of the auction that is supposed to remove the devices and other player control restrictions?

It has happened going to the Cursed Loot Rubber Doll quest, and S.L.U.T.S., and I think others before.  I noticed afterwards that on this new runthrough I had forgotten to enable Defeat in Death Alternative, so it might be the way DA calls Simple Slavery that is causing the camera malfunction.

that shouldn't matter. I'll look into it. In the meantime, open the zaz mcm and clear all active zaz poses.
