Would it be possible to remove this dependency (or how can I do this myself)?

If you add a fake esp and load it and this mod in xEdit you can remove the dependency.

 

Open the 'file header' of Rennas Ranch. And then on the white space after the master #x that contains the ranger esp click on remove.

Must have misclicked when loading up the CK. I just uploaded a version with the masters files fixed.

The vibes and shocks are supposed to indicate if you're going the right way or not. The direction can change suddenly so you have to keep an eye on the notifications to make sure you're getting vibes which means you're heading the right way. Getting shocked means you have to go in a different direction for a few seconds in order for the game to register if you're back on track or not. The one time I had this task, Ka'suna was in a building within a city but that might be just one of her spawns.

Kept this hidden in case people want to find out on their own.

Every 10 or 15 seconds it checks if you are closer or farther away  to Kasuna than you were last time it checked. If you are farther, it shocks you, if you are closer it vibes. The closer you are the longer the vibe will be. So if you are walking in a direction and it starts shocking you then you will want to adjust course a bit and see if that helps. It doesn't care at all what path you are taking, only if you are closer or father.

Thank you for the update! I played a bit on 0.3.0-testing3 and found some more bugs.

 

1. Telvard's freeroam task

If you fail to escape the contraption in time and then get released without having sex (either he doesn't offer or you decline), the game doesn't restore player controls properly. The variations where you escape the contraption successfully or don't and then have sex with him are bug free now though as far as I can tell.

 

2. Bradur's freeroam task

The variation with the depressor gag has a bug where the quest doesn't complete properly. The "complete tasks for the estate's residents" objective goes to "(1/???)" but the "demonstrate the device for Bradur" objective doesn't get completed. This also leads to you being unable to accept any other free roam task for the rest of the day, because the NPCs tell you to finish your current task first.

 

3. Ploughing daily task

I did the ploughing task essentially perfectly, Rogdul even said something like "great showing today" afterwards. Surprisingly though, the quest failed and during the scene in the corral in the evening he said I didn't complete my assigned task today. So something is borked here I think.

 

4. New no heel offset boots

So I might be a dumbass but these are invisible for me, even after building them in bodyslide. I'm also curious as to where and when these are supposed to be used. They got put on my DB after getting released from the pillory after sexy time with Telvard and I was very confused as to why.

 

(Edit: Also tiny suggestion for when you trip and spill the water during Karin's task: Add a blue text notification that says something like "you tripped and spilled your water", similar to the one you get when you sprint. I know you already added a water sfx when you trip, but it's very easy to miss if you have shit hearing like me.)

You're right I forgot to restore controls if you refuse, should be fixed now.

Was calling the wrong function when he sends you away with the gag. Fixed.

Turns out if you do it 100% perfectly without trampling anything you fail. Oops. Fixed now.

The files for the boots should have built to ...meshes\Ranch\ in your bodyslide output folder. Are they there for you?

 

The boots are just for when you get locked into a contraption since no matter what I did I could not get SL scenes with contraptions to align properly if the player had shoes with a heel offset on, so I just made a copy of them without the offset. The boots should get equipped right before you get put into the contraption and taken off right after you get out, but I made a typo:

Hi,

you have a MASTER File (Ranger's Berne Armor.esp) in your Mod! Where i can find this Mod? I find only a LE Version. The SE version by NEXUS is removed.... or hidden. Have you some other link?

That master file was included by accident. If you redownload and reinstall the mod (the one that says fixed) it won't ask you for it anymore. 

 

Keep in mind you are using a testing release, it is mostly working but there are a couple breaking bugs in it.

Dont know if it was mentioned before, but i noticed that Bradur`s quest with hoofboots cant be ended. He tells that he will let DB walk in these boots for the rest of the day, but after it nothing happens, he has no dialog to return boots to him. Btw in last mod version he sucsessfully changes boots at the start of quest

They are in ..meshes\RennasRanch\ for me.

If he didnt swap the boots at the start then I don't think you are on the latest version. There was a bug there that I fixed.

 

Also he doesnt take the boots back at the end of the demonstration. You have to complete someone else's quest with them on and then they get removed at the end of the day.

Those boots use the exact same textures as the ones included in DD so it seems your bodyslide cant find them for whatever reason. 

 

Also that bodyslide is broken at the moment, you can see it outputs to meshes\RennasRanch when it should just be meshes\Ranch, that will be fixed in next version.

Testing4 release has been uploaded. The above issue as well as all the issues reported in testing3 should be fixed now.

 

Thanks to everyone who has played the testing versions and found issues. Makes fixing them a lot faster.

Just installed this to test it, and headed to the In in Falkreath.

I found the cowardly courier there, but he did not force greet me.

 

I then used the MCM to skip first part with courier, and that started the force greet but broke it as soon as I got next quest to my log.

Do one need to be at stage to have done quests to be recognized as dragonborn, or do I have another problem?

Skipping the intro skips the part with the courier entirely. If he still greeted you after that then I am not sure what happened there.

 

I dont recommend skipping the intro unless you have played through all/most of it at least once. I say most because there is a bug near the end that some people get that I dont know how to fix yet.

 

The mod assumes you have been recognized as the dragonborn but you dont have to have actually done anything in that regard.

 

Sometimes leaving the inn and then saving and reloading can get him to greet you properly if he isnt doing it.

Even after i downloaded this mod for the first time i could stip intro entirely. Btw that bug at the end didnt appear from the first testing versiong till now so i think its fixed

If it ended properly and nothing got stuck or broken then I think it should be fine to continue. No guarantees though.

Got to the end of the first term, I'm frankly amazed that I didn't run into more bugs or skyrim.. being skyrim.

 

The only noteworthy thing; during the first day during the freeroam, the adrienne (I hope I remember the name right, it's the missing letter one) quest was a bit wonky. Specifically after being called over and told to assume the position - it repeatedly failed to acknowledge that I had done so and immediately went into failure mode, I believe the global wasn't set for some mysterious reason no matter how I timed it. I suspect this might be a case of Todd.. but just in case it is significant that it happened during the first full day, because I decided to not do that particular quest and then when it came up the next day, it worked no problems. Beats me wtf happened.

 

Also a bunch of typos and tildes in the dialogue but that's really tedious to go through, only slightly easier to fix via xedit.

 

All in all, really great work, I particularly appreciate the posing and leashing mechanics, cleanly done and I wish I had thought of it :D

No it works from an entirely new game (at least when version-testing2 was used). Force-greet should work fine.

 

Make sure to download and run Loot, run FNIS, and make sure your mod manager is pointed at the right version of your game. Mod managers like Nexus Mod Manager do a poor job targeting the right game directory.

Tried that on a save I had before entering the inn.

Entered exited and made a new save. 

Exited the game to main menu.

Loaded the new save.

Entered again, and still no force greeting.

 

I assume that something in my over 1200 mod list collide with this mod (perhaps AI overhaul or the causal conversation mod I have, since I can see that he is under influence in his action from them), even though I have it as a late loader.

Conflicts are a problem from time to time when one have very long mod lists.

Oh well, I guess I will have to try it in next version again.

 

Force greetings and forced follow has been a bit wonky in a few mods.

Might be good to have normal conversation option, to start quest, as fallback for handling misfire in force greetings.
