Love Mod organizer, Installed a huge amount of graphical and texture mods on a profile I am calling Prrty1 then another profile for crazy stuff and another more modest long hall play

Original question is in spoiler tags, Decided I would use this post after reading all the information given (thank you to all) to relay what I tried and how it worked.

Disabled UAC windows 7 and installed on my main drive ssd hybrid, usually all my games go on the D drive.

Let steam do a clean install after I deleted the directory and my ini files.

Decided to go with Mod organizer this time more chance of unfucking things if anything goes wrong plus I can have a completely separate load list for fun times or serious times.

Installed Skse, MO and then hooked boss, Fnis and tesedit into MO.

Tested load and booted up my 2011 play through which existed before any mods or dlc. (145 hours).

Installed the unofficial patches for main game and dlc.

Started up Skyrim played for a few minutes went back home to whiterun, realized how bad the original menu/inventory system was.

Installed SkyUI ran game.

Climates of Tamriel

Dropped off all my stuff in Whiterun and decided a good test was a horse ride from Whiterun to Riften.

Will edit this message once that is complete.

Got to just outside Riften no problems then a c++ runtime error, am incline to believe that is just one of those wierd things.

I have played skyrim since its release date, I am so happy to have steam because the amount of times I have had to re-install is more than I can remember.

The problem is I seem to want to have my cake and eat it, bloody silly saying because if you have cake damn right you want to eat said cake!

My gaming pc is seperate to my mod/dev pc, it is a i5 2500k cpu 8gb dd3 nvidia 660ti 2gb games machine not the best but it does the job.

No yahoo, skype and even the internet is limited to nexus/loverslab it is for games and nothing else windows 7 64bit fully updated, bios and graphics card drivers all upto date.

But in two years I have yet to create a stable version of skyrim past vanilla.

Am I really asking too much ?

So I am here asking for advice and suggestions in four areas

I have heard good things about MO but I am use to NMM which is the best to use ?

Is that possible, without my hair going any more grey, I don't mind if it crashes once a day, hell I sometimes spend 11 hours in skyrim I would expect a crash if I had no reboot but is it possible and just what am I missing, why does my games alway end up crashing just when it gets fun.

Most of the mods you have listed have installation guides on the S.T.E.P. wiki as well.

There are a lot of guides in the Skyrim General and Technical support forums here and on the Nexus (as well as Bethesda's forums)

Best advice, is to actually read through the threads for each mod you wish to try out, there you will discover in advance the issues and incompatibilities you may encounter.

As for Skyrim crashing, IMHO it is a poorly written piece of code. Highly enjoyable, but more support has been written for it by third parties than just about any software I know. Just how much crashing you are willing to tolerate will determine the way you install mods for it.

There are many utilities written to eliminate/lessen crashes, eternal loading screens, stutter, slowdown.

My game is stable. Though I kind of know what I'm doing, so I don't know if that counts. Since I can patch or clean mods at a higher level than most people.

It's really all about optimizing the game based on what it can handle along with what your PC can handle. I play on a laptop ,a good laptop but it's 2 years old and showing, so I use optimizer textures to compress all of the big texture packs that I use and make sure not to use texture packs that are for land and very common clutter since it would slow things down and drain the memory. I don't use SMIM even though it was my favorite mod, I went to school for 3D modeling and animation so I know better than to use hi-poly meshes in a video game. My skyrim.ini and prefs are as close to perfect for my PC as I can get them and haven't changed them in close to 6 months. I use Enboost to manage my memory and safety load to get rid of those pesky ILS and freezes. O and Nitpick since I have a lot of BSA's I tend to make them for mods myself since I use NMM for Skyrim and it helps me to stay organized.

Only crashes I really get are HDT and C++ errors. Which don't really have anything to do with the game. And really only happen once a day between 4 hours of play or so.

So what I am looking for is possible with a little patience, I am doing a clean install of Skyrim right now and once installed I am going to make a copy of it so any mess and I can just drop it back in.

You got scripted mods that conflict me thinks slongs, enhanced blood textures and immersive creatures are mods that can crash to desktop also wet and cold can be nasty with those mods.

Realy stable with many different mods and also depends on which one you install NO.

But rather stable yes it also depends on your rig offcorse and how much vram.

I got some followers mods and heavy texture 4k mods that after couple of hours i crash sometimes.

Got highend PC and i know how my laod should be and what to install.

Mainly couse of CTD is just becouse bethesda did not deliver a very stable skyrim.

Yes it's very possible to have a stable Skyrim, provided you have enough RAM, an okey to good graphic card and a good cpu.

When installing mods, usually i follow a modus operadi:

1. Mods that need to be installed with the first save : ex Requiem, Alternative start mods, ECE.

2. Other mods that change stuff, not textures,meshes yet. : ex. no combat music, gameplay changes like more carry weight, more/less damage on weapons etc.

When you have those mods, you cna start playing for an hour or 2 or more, to see if it's stable.

Then

3. Mods like Frostfall, steps on snow etc. Now, half of the mods you showed are heavy script ones. Nothing wrong with it, your comp can handle a few heavy ones no problem. BUT you must always have in mind that, the more heavy scripted mods, the more chane something shoots wrong. Skyrim muchine sucks, it' sa fact, sometimes it can choke on it's own on an unmodded game alone. So what i would do, would be to install the absolutely needed ones, that i can't live without.

4. Textures: USe 1k texts for environment (houses,rocks,plants etc) and 2k for bodies/faces. Less heavy on muchine.

5. Enb, use one with Enboost, and experiment with enblocal ini, to find what works for you. Will make the game more stable.

6. Memory fix, there's a great post in LL , i think it was on 16 or 18 January, look for it and install the one on 3rd page(i think).

Enhanced blood textures-has reports it does some stuff, Claralux - save bloats (dunno if fixxed), Fire and ice -some pcs can't handle it well and have probs.

7. Now after you did the above, and all work well for a couple of hours of gaming. Npcs mods. Install some, play, if all good, install more.

8.Have 2 backups for your saves. Specially the ones you played a couple of hours and look good.

9. After the 80th mod (lets say in Wrye Bash, since it has numbers and letters), the 81 mod, that uses Skse breaks. that's a papyrus problem. Next SKsE will fix it, but for now, be careful and install the skse/script mods before the 80. After 80 install cloth/weapon etc mods.

10. Sexlab mods. Install and play, but don't save on your normal game saves.. First save, backup, then install them mods, then play some hours. Almost every sexlab mod sais that it's still beta. If you install on your normal game saves, you always take a risk you don't need.

If you take these steps and are patient, you have a huge chance to have a stable game.

Oh yah, check your mod list on Wrye or w/e manager on Tes5edit, to see if you have incompatibilities between mods.Many incompatibilities might pop problems after hours of gaming, even if they look good at the beginning.

Always reed the reedmes goes without saying, you probably do that religiously.

I use you all the best. Ohhh yah, and clean your mods with Tes5edit. That' probably the number UNO thing everyone must do. Even Bethesda's dlcs are dirty, dirtier than all other mods.

I've had a very stable period of about two months, with a 190 plugins. It all went south when I tried to run Immersive Creatures so I ditched it and was fine again. Later, with misplaced confidence (we all get that, right?) I tried Immersive Patrols and again had problems with freezing etc so that had to go - all good again. Last week I decided to try to run HDT Heels alongside general HDT and collision and found myself in random CTD county - got rid of HH and all good again.

This is my almost tragically imprecise and unscientific method of exploring the limits of my personal setup. I can run a ton of graphical pretties, a big collection of armors, lots of game change tweaks, combat, magic and perk overhauls and end up with a really wonderful game of Skyrim. But if I try to add to the number of spawns in the world too ambitiously, things can get sketchy real fast.

Yes it is possible to have a stable Skyrim to a point i played on the weekend for 3 hours not one crash 90+mods installed. as all ready said above clean with tes5edit be careful what mods you install make sure they don't interfere with each other make a few manual saves to revert back to if you plan on trying out new mods.

I got it all working including sexlab, set submit to 95% health and want to see how far I can get using better vampires and sneaking around feeding on bandits, up to my 306th feed and many bandit hideouts cleared, no one caught me yet

My game currently, is exceptionally stable. 134 mods, several high res textures, ini files modified to allow an ENB and Skyrim Floral Overhaul. No unofficial patches installed, and I haven't cleaned my master files.

I have been able to get my game pretty stable and can go several hours without crashing. I currently have 247 esm/esp's with another 22 merged into the bashed patch and a number of others merged together (hair mods and other simple mods). I try to stay away from any mods that change the same thing as another mod especially of both use scripts. I have made a number of modifications to my ini file including a number of the multithreaded entries. I stopped using BOSS a while ago as most of my mods have been in place for a while and just place new ones manually in the load order.

I have been able to get my game pretty stable and can go several hours without crashing. I currently have 247 esm/esp's with another 22 merged into the bashed patch and a number of others merged together (hair mods and other simple mods). I try to stay away from any mods that change the same thing as another mod especially of both use scripts. I have made a number of modifications to my ini file including a number of the multithreaded entries. I stopped using BOSS a while ago as most of my mods have been in place for a while and just place new ones manually in the load order.

Is anyone having problems with slow transitions? Like when any of the LL scripts are about to start and the characters initialize their stripping or another example is when my character is doing the transition from regular play to werewolf or vamp lord I am getting a huge delay to the sequence starting. My FPS is fine and I can still move around like normal with no screen tearing but it is taking like 10-15 sec from the moment I press the transform shout until when the process begins on the screen. I am not getting any CTD's just this weird delay between the animation transitions. I'm only loading around 85 esm/esp's ... nothing really taxing or glaring to me and my PC should easily be handling this.

Now go into your Skryim folder and change the [Papyrus] section to look like this to turn logging on...

Then go play a minute, or until it crashes :lol: You can then look in documents/my games/skyrim (the same place your Skyrim game saves are kept) you should find a logs folder with your Papyrus Logs in there. The ".0" is the newer one and ".1" would be the older one. When you find that post it here for someone to look over.

You also have a ton of plugings to change NPCs. Are they all from a single pack or individual downloads? Because there are all in one mods out there that do the same or similar and have just one plugin file.

Bathing beauties is a scripted mod that game me fits before. SL mods are all scripted. Things like footprints, wet and cold, Frostfall and a thousand others are all scripted. Sometimes have multiple script heavy mods can just wreak havoc on your game saves. And removing any one of them can cause some serious crap, too.

Although you can find several "supposed" fixes for script lag including those settings, most involve setting them to really unreasonable values, so I experimented myself. With those settings I have no script lag with a LOT of heavily scripted mods (including: frostfall, footprints, maaany sexlab plugins, SOS, professions, RND, DrinkEatSleepBathe for bathing, Dynamic Things, and many, many more) on A10-5800K @4Ghz. What is your CPU?

As one wise man on this site (whose name I already forgot) said: "A stable playthough doesn't go along with sex mods" (or something like that), I suggest that you unstick your sex mods and only enable them when you need them.

My game was 99% stable. That remaining 1% was the infamous after sex save crash caused by SL free cam, but that has been fixed in 1.38. No crash since i updated it and i have 184 mods installed. Well, sometimes i do crash but thats always caused by me when i mess with the meshes

I don't get any CTDs(and hopefully I won't ) and I'm using:

SD+, Aroused, Defeat, Submit, Cumshot, SexLabRND, Solutions, Lovers Comfort, Lovers Victim, Paycrime, Squirt, Radiant Prostitution (altough I only use it for the ability to wait tables ), Describe, Prison Overhaul and Spectator Crowds.

Installing sex mods is a good way to lose interest in normal playing though - if you want to play the game (as opposed to playing around in the game:P) it might be a good idea not to install them .
