Sexist Commentary

Should be safe to install, simply has only a few lines to offer

 

This is the first version of a mod that I had been thinking about creating for a very long time.

Basically, in essence it will be like Sexist Guards. I really love that mod for its idea, though sadly the og author is gone and their account deleted. Meaning, its rough edges and some certain style of writing will stay. That was fine back when we only had subtitles, but for me they just can't keep up with modern times and possibilities anymore.

 

Now, this creation of mine is not merely a bug fix, but a totally new mod. I like to think about it as a kind of tribute to Sexist Guards and its idea (hence the choice for naming).

 

[planned] Feature(s)

The single purpose of this mod is to add spicy/sexist/misogynic/adult comments all throughout Skyrim. They should be somewhat context aware and fitting to the speaker.

Those comments are aimed exclusively at a female player character.

 

You will get comments from

  • Guards (some implemented)
  • "generic" NPCs (a few implemented)
  • Bandits and other enemies (a few implemented)
  • your player character (a few implemented)
  • and a narrator (a few implemented)

 

Player lines offer (to some degree for now) the possibility to set a weight for certain styles of commentary to give your avatar a certain personality (yes, the Sexist Guards traits will be back).

 

Those comments will be location and situation aware, with a planned soft integration with Devious Devices.

Meaning, certain lines will only play in cities or dungeons, or when the player is naked or tied up, cum covered, has certain weapons equipped, ...

 

Comment Examples

Some examples of comments, by whom they may spoken and in what scenario:

Player [happy, nymphomaniac], walking through city: "I love it when people already undress me with their eyes."

 

Player [angry, defiant], fighting in a bandit camp: "If I die here, it will be with my weapon in my hand. Not with tears on my face."

Player [fearful, timid], fighting in a bandit camp: "If I lose... they can take whatever they want! And I know exactly what that means."

 

Narrator [neutral], while Player walks naked through a Draugr Crypt: "A cold breeze brushed against her bare skin, as if the grave itself were curious to see her."

Narrator [neutral], in Draugr Crypt: "The smell of mould, old blood and... something else hung over her like a veil as she continued forward."

 

Narrator [neutral], Player visiting an Inn: "One of the men leaned back so he could admire the curvaceous heroine undisturbed."

Narrator [neutral], Player visiting an Inn: "The heroine noticed how the waitress was frequently molested by the drunk patrons."

 

Guard [neutral], if Player has a two handed weapon equipped: "I see you try to handle large equipment. I have something in my pants you can train with."

Guard [neutral], who is female herself: "Do me a favour and get yourself in trouble, I'm tired of being the boys' entertainment in the barracks."

 

Bandit [angry], taunting the player in fight: "I'll rip your armour off and chase you naked through the camp!"

Bandit [neutral], idling: "...a warm, whining girl... in cold, clanging steel... I should go to the Bards College..."

 

Requirements and Compatibility

This mod requires nothing but a working setup of

  1. Sexlab Framework
  2. Any Arousal mod (e.g. OSL ArousedSLO Aroused NG, SLARSLAX, ...) as long as it provides the arousal faction

 

This mod is built in a style to be as compatible as possible. No vanilla dialogue is altered, anything gets provided by the mod itself.

Devious Devices are compatible as well and will be recognized, no hard requirement though.

 

For nudity, I added Advanced Nudity Detection on top of the (in modern times unreliable) vanilla approach.

If mod is present, I use its approach to determine whether a nude comment is valid, if not then the vanilla approach is in use. No hard requirement for that!

 

SEMI incompatibilities

  • TES V: Skyrim LE - ESP file needs version and flag change in its header (eg. with xEdit) and BSA needs re-packing (eg with CAO)
  • PC Head Tracking and Voice Type SE - B.Y.O. Voice type feature. Bella is part of this mod now, if you don't like it, unpack the BSA and delete or replace the files in the _FemaleBYO folder

 

Highly recommended

These mods aren't required for Sexist Commentary, but they complement it in various ways

 

Difference from Sexist Guards

The main big difference of this mod compared to Sexist Guards will/should be, that I want to focus on the narrator. For those of you, who played or watched videos of Baldur's Gate 3 - yes, that kind of narrator, just more spicy. I like this concept and I want to build upon the base that Sexist Guards created for that.

The next thing is, I want to keep those comments somewhat "immersive" (as far as this goes ^^). Meaning, many comments shouldn't be too direct, but suggestive and rather somewhat "artistic" and imaginative. They actually should to some degree sound like something that character could have said in this scenario, it should fit in the general game style of commentary, just break the prudence - of course, some bandit probably won't talk like a diplomat ^^.

The third thing is emotion. Each comment gets emotion set based on speaker, comments style and situation. Those emotion settings then are respected when creating AI voice overs for the lines.

 

AI voice lines

Those AI voice lines are NOT xVASynth creations. They sound way more natural and the model allows for emotional vector addition. In short, if a line should sound angry, it (more or less) will do so!

Why Alpha?

Several reasons: one, some things are unpolished and you might encounter issues sometimes. Additionally, even though I tried to keep the mod as compatible as possible, there still might come up some issues.

Two, I'm not a native English speaker. Mostly I use Deepl to translate my idea from my native language for the base line and then fine-tune it to my liking.

Three, I still have or get ideas for events or scenarios where I could add lines to, so there might get new features added later on.

Four, this mod lives from its amount of lines. I imagined some, I borrowed some from Sexist Guards, but they're not enough, by far!

Generic idle comments now have a timer. You should only hear about 1 comment per ingame hour. This doesn't affect greetings.

The voice file for a.7 still works fine, no new voice lines were added. Just merge a.8 and let it overwrite anything
You have to disable and re-enable Generic NPC comments for the changes to take effect

It certainly will, there are no checks for female PCs in particular. Just the writing will be off, but each their own ^^

This is pretty cool and the voices sound quite natural, though I think they don't quite talk like the NPC they're sourced from.  Maybe the models need fine tuning per voice type?

 

If I may may a suggestion/request, if not already implemented, could you make the narrator able to respond to location and quest events?  Perhaps focus on the narrator entirely?  It would be pretty cool to have a narrator say your character's inner thoughts as she adventures around Skyrim.  It's a mod I've always wanted to make myself but lacked any knowledge on how to implement!  Man, I know how to add additional dialogues but I never could figure out how to make the invisible actor that speaks that Sexist Guards uses. =(.

I use entirely my own quests and stuff, so should be compatible with all. And of course, I can add some samples to the description page.

Yeah, the model I use still is in Beta so some quirks still might happen, though it was the only one that I found, that allowed to directly add an emotion vector to its generation settings.
If you find a really odd sounding line, please let me know the line and voicetype and I can re-generate it.

 

The narrator and loud thinking of the player character already are location aware. I'm not sure how I could implement quest awareness with my chosen approach, but I can see what I can do.

Cancellation only works if you care about the opinion of others.

I use Lazy Voice Finder to quickly scan through audio files.  I was just checking to see how good the audio quality was and I'm glad to say it's excellent, save that it didn't quite capture the mannerisms of the voices.  I use the Tortoise RVC pipeline for voice generation, which by now has been superseded by many other programs that work much more consistently.  But it took all my brain cells learning how to get this one to work so there's nothing left for me to learn anything else.  I'd venture to say that the only reason why my voices might sound acceptable (in some cases) is because tortoise isn't reliable, so I'm forced to listen to each voice line individually, then regenerate it if it's messed up or doesn't match the emotional intensity I want.  It can take a long time to listen to each line of dialogue, and quality control them this way, but it's worth it IMO.

 

Tortoise also has an emotional vector setting but I don't think it really does much to alter the generation.

Great! The sexistguards stopped updating for years, so I'm very excited see this mod released.

And will this mod interacting with Advanced Nudity Detection? The sexistguards playernude(no keyword ArmorCuirass and ClothingBody ) comment is useless for me. Moders made large amount of pretty/sexy/exposed armor and dress made nude comment line weight increasingly low.

And I am also very concerned about content of this mod interacting with DD series.

As told above, I don't interfere with anything besides base game resources, SL framework and the arousal faction from any arousal mod.

That means, my mod should play nicely alongside any other similar mod, you even should be able to install it together with Sexist Guards.

 

The only thing I see that could happen is that you get the same (or very similar) lines provided by different mods, and then with different or no voicing at all.

I could try to duplicate the keyword from Advanced Nudity Detection in a similar style that I use for DD items. But for now my mod goes the base vanilla route of checking for ArmorCuirass and ClothingBody. It's still in Alpha though, and this suggestion was one reason for me to publish it like that ^^ So yeah, I'll have a look at that.

Heyho, some questions to discuss!

 

Now, that you have a first impression, I have a few questions for you:

 

1) The most important right now: What voicetypes should I later on provide for the player character?

Now the mod is still relatively small and it would be easier to generate the missing voicetypes now. I'd then just have to create new lines later on, which would safe some time. For now, during testing, the player only has FemaleYoungEager (Ysolda) as voice, but I could add any other voice that's in the game.

I ask, because every type means generating more lines, which means more time spent. So I'd like to keep that count as low as possible.

 

2) How do you like the style of commentary and is it recognizable what I aim for?

The narrator being sultry and implicative, Guards being sometimes quite crude but trying to stay reputable, and bandits tending to be more crude, especially in fight.

3) The hardest one: What would you recommend or what do you want to see as part of this mod?

With this, I don't mean comments, those can be suggested by the form. What I mean: do you want more narrator comments or more player ones? Do you have certain factions or events you wish to have commentary for?

As specific example, I'm quite unsure if I should try to bring back commentary for sex scenes. Those were part of Sexist Guards and offered mostly dirty talk for non-con scenes. That's my main problem: I'd need to differ between different styles of scenes (mainly con, non-con, and beastiality), as it would be weird for the player to plead a partner to stop while in fact it's their spouse and they snuggle together in a player home. And I'm not sure how I could achieve that.

The question doesn't only aim for sex events though, but more general. What do you wish to have comments for in Skyrim?

1) Voices can add a lot, but mishandling tends to cause major immersion breaking, not to mention file size bloat and the serious work involve as you have said. Personally I treat them as bonus/extras, so I am not too picky about having voices.

 

2) I think all kind of style will find a place in the world given the right conditions, filtering will be key as much as lines generation

 

3) Would like to see follower comments, especially fellow female followers who are also living through same situation as the PC; not as dominate nor submissive relationship, but one on relatively equal footing. Never really jived with sexist guards 4th wall breaking comments, even that mod's narrator comments are ok sometimes, but at times a bit overbearing, and sometimes make too much assumption on the player. I think a good usage of followers comments/banter would be a good way to express the PC's thoughts and description of the world at large. Basically you don't have the issue of PC talking to herself randomly and getting into the whole "spoken thoughts" conundrum.

I believe male lines, variant lines plus voices for variant lines can be later implemented using the dynamic dialogue replacer mod. 

It seems pretty interesting.
