Separately, I totally disagree with all the new features ot the Nexus site. It is unclear, vulgar, harder to use for peolple who know what they want. Of course, it looks like any "commercial" modern shit.

Just fit for average shit=consumers as so many people are nowadays

On a personal level, I don't care what Nexuxmods did in the past or what they do in the future in terms of ads. Ad blockers and script blockers exist for a reason. I don't pay for premium service on Nexusmods and I never will. If Nexusmods goes fully pay-to-access, I'll stop using the site.

Same.

Besides, they c don what they want to monetize and fun the machine, it's OK for me, provided that they keep the free non-no-premium service working.

And about ANY sort of censoring, I still stand against it anywhere and at anytime. Our game is what we intend to make of it, so we choose the add-ons we want. We need no judge about it. That's why I stick with Loverslab. Here any sort of dream can go to birth.

People can't expect to keep getting something for nothing indefinitely.  As long as we're getting value for our money, we should expect to have to contribute in some fashion.  Food is a necessity for all of us, but unless we contribute the time and effort to grow our own, we have to pay.  Automobiles are a necessity for many of us, and we have to pay.  Healthcare is a necessity, and we have to pay, whether fee for service or through taxes.

Even if mod authors are willing to create mods for free, it still takes an enormous investment for a site like Nexus or LL or wherever to host them.  Nexus has about 40 staff - they need to be paid, then server costs, hardware and software, backend expenses, etc.  That money has to come from somewhere.  A real world example:  for a time, I was Chairman of a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers.  No one, including me, made a single cent.  Yet we still had an annual budget greater than $600K to be able to provide the basic services that were in our charter.  Fuel, equipment and supplies, it all adds up.

Neither Nexus, nor LL, nor any of these other sites are charities.  The history of mod monetization and the resistance to it is well known, and I'm sure the new owners know that making sudden drastic changes could see them ruin whatever "goodwill" Nexus has, and see them lose all of their investment in the long run if people flee in droves.  (To where though is the issue, as right now I don't think anyone is able to compete in terms of size.)  However, I'm guessing that a small monthly subscription for faster downloads (or something similar) is within the reach of most people.

I wanted to support LL but when I went to sign up the payment is routed through a porn site, I live in a very small rural community where everyone knows everyone's business and they don't mind sticking that nose where it does not belong.

My nearest neighbor works at the bank, if they saw that transaction the whole area would soon find out and then I would be in an untenable situation.

My whole area is populated with hatemongers.

Maybe if the ads were not all smut they would not get blocked, yes I have sex mods in my game but I do not like porn or watch porn, I do not have issues with any who do, this is just how I am.

Maybe it is time for LL to change to "The Lab" and offer a place for all mods with an adult section just like bookstores have a backroom for adults, get away from being porn-centric where other advertisers would be interested in the site. IDK

I just know everything is going to monetization or micro transactions.

There is an answer somewhere.....

The question now is whether Loverslab is prepared for a bigger number of people angry at the Nexus betrayal, seeing this website as their savior, wanting to get in and upload their mods, and have people download that content.

We need more servers and bandwidth.

LoversLab cannot support more more people without additional support from us AND those people.
