Devious Slavery and Servitude

View File

More things to do for low leveled characters. Player slavery and intentured servitude: Become a live-in maid, a tavern servant, or become enslaved to a blacksmith! You can also rent a cellar to live in or rent storage space at merchants in several towns. You can also make some money and help out fellow citizens by selling devious keys. Several of the quests in this mod are available as auction outcomes in Simple Slavery ++ https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/13531-simple-slavery-plus-plus/

Devious Slavery and Servitude

Live-in Maid for Clan Battle-Born

This quest allows you to spend your days, weeks, months or your entire life as Clan Battle-Born's live-in maid. You'll get to perform many different maid duties: clean the house, cook meals, run errands, ... You don't get paid, but there's a free bedroll and food for you, and of course the safety of Whiterun's mighty walls.

Your tasks get assigned on a semi-random basis. Some tasks happen more often than others, but there should always be a different new task after you've completed the previous one.  Some of the quest's parameters can be configured through dialogue like in the smith and inn quests: your outfit and the duration of your stay with Clan Battle-Born. Note that if you choose the "lifelong" option, your only way to end the quest is to run away.

You can start the quest at any time by executing this console command: "SetStage SIS_Q_Maid 1". I recommend to do it during daytime and while not wearing any devious devices.

Enslaved by a Blacksmith

This is a fairly simple player enslavement quest: A blacksmith has bought you as a slave and puts you to work at his smithy. You'll get a steady stream of tasks: most of them to craft things or some occasional errands in town. The smith also has a place for you to sleep and will provide daily food rations.

The crafting tasks depend on the smithy's inventory. For example, you'll only be ordered to create a weapon if the required ingots are currently in stock. If they aren't, you might get the task to work the smelter instead to make more ingots. However, basic components such as charcoal are not considered as the player can always create them when needed for a task. Please note that only items which you've placed in the storage chest will be counted for new tasks, not the ones you have in your inventory. This is by design, to allow the player some influence over the task rolls.

It is a quite repetitive quest by its very nature, but at least you get to level up your smithing skills. ;)

This quest can be started through Simple Slavery or via the console. Simply type "SetStage SIS_Q_Master 1" in the console and the quest will take it from there. You can select some options at the start of the quest: which smith to be sold to, the minimum duration of your stay with them, and your outfit (set through dialogue).

You can end your enslavement in two ways: You can either work through the minimum period which set at the start of the mod, at which point you'll be able to negotiate your freedom through dialogue with your master. You may have to try a few times though. Alternatively, you can just escape, though (naturally) that won't be without consequences.

Work in an Inn

Are you low on coin? Don't have a place to live? Are your survival skills no match to the dangerous roads of Skyrim? Worry not, for a solution is at hand! You can now find work in an inn in any of the big cities in Skyrim. Just walk up to the counter and ask the innkeeper if they're hiring. That's Elda in Windhelm, Hulda in Whiterun, Keerava in Riften, Kleppr in Markarth, and Corpulus in Solitude.

They will offer you work as waitress/waiter, but it comes with a catch: you'll have to agree to a minimum contract time (3 day, 7 days, or two weeks) and to wear a specific uniform. You'll get a base pay of 50 septims per day plus bonus payments for the longer contracts. You can also earn extra by running some errands or working in the kitchen. Of course, you can also earn tips from the inn's patrons. So make sure you don't mix up those orders!

Indentured Servitude at Candlehearth Hall

This is the involuntary version of the inn quest. You will be working at Candlehearth Hall on a fixed-length contract. You are not allowed to leave early; doing so will get you in trouble with the authorities.

To start the quest at any time, please use this console command: "SetStage SIS_Q_TavernSlave 1".

Rentable Cellar Player Home

For a modest weekly payment, you can now rent a cellar under Nazeem's Chillfurrow Farm. Speak to Nazeem to find out more.

The player home (cellar) has two beds, some furniture and plenty of storage including functional book, potion and drink shelves. You can light and extinguish the candles in the cellar. It is fully navmeshed and should be follower-friendly. All storage is safe.

I want to expand this rent-a-cellar system to other holds in a future update.

Rentable Storage Space

Don't know where to stuff all that loot that you picked up on your travels? Just rent some storage in the town of your choice!

Several store owners in Skyrim rent out storage space. It'll cost you five gold per day and you can store up to 100 pounds at each of them. Speak to the store's owner to rent the storage and access it later on (after paying the rent!) You can also cancel your contract at any time. Your contract will be canceled and all stored items removed if you don't access the storage at least once every 60 days.

Rentable storage is being offered by these merchants:

Spoiler
  • Belethor's General Goods in Whiteun
  • Riverwood Trader
  • Arnleif and Sons in Markarth
  • Thaumaturgist's Hut in Morthal
  • Mortar and Pestle in Dawnstar
  • Sadri's Used Wares in Windhelm
  • The Pawned Prawn in Riften
  • Bits and Pieces in Solitude
  • Gray Pine Goods in Falkreath
  • Birna's Oddments in Winterhold

Each store has its own storage which can't be accessed from anywhere else. In other words, you can have up to then different storages in the various towns, and have to pay 5 gold per day for each of them!

By the way, in spite of the mod's name, nothing "devious" will happen with the storages. No devices, no sex. It's just storage. (Honestly!)

In addition, there's also a patch that expands the rentable storage quest to all eight towns of Jabr's Legendary Cities mod. Simply download the relevant zip files from this page and install as a new mod in your mod manager.  Requires all eight cities from the Legendary Cities mod, version 6.01, modular version (currently the main download on its Nexus page): https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/318?tab=description

Storage can be rented from these eight merchants in the Legendary Cities:

Spoiler
  • Amol: Frakig in the Proud Inn
  • Blackmoor Fortress: Skogg in Skogg's Store
  • Dunstead Grove: Lidia in the Herbalist's Store
  • Granite Hall: Earana in the Reachmen Common Store
  • Nimalten: Haema in the Common Store
  • North Keep: Aegri in the Sweet Cold Store
  • Pargran Village: Fryfnhild in the Six Claws Inn
  • Vernim Wood: Agne in Agne's Store ... not to be confused with Agna, who also lives in town 😉

Installation

Install the main file Devious Slavery and Servitude.zip like any other mod with the mod manager of your choice.

Optionally, you can also install the xVA synth voices sound pack.

Optionally, you can also install the patch for Jabr's Legendary Cities mod. Requires all plugins from the modular version 6.01 of Legendary Cities. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/318?tab=description

For those who don't like the slow pace in the tight hobble dresses, please install the file "Devious Slavery and Servitude - Relaxed Dresses.esp" and add it to your load order below the main mod's .esp.

Requirements

I am aware that not everybody likes the two Overhaul mods, but (at least for now) I won't be offering a version of the mod without them.

There are no known incompatibilities at this point. Please let me know if you encounter any incompatibilities or bugs!

The mods below are purely suggestions from my load order to have more things to do in the early game, before your char is ready to go into battle. They are not required to play this mod (not even as soft dependencies).

Older Versions' Changelog

Spoiler

Version 1.3

New Content!

+ New Trading Quest: Help out fellow citizens by giving them devious keys! Speak to an innkeeper to begin ("Can you help an unskilled worker?" topic). They'll tell you who in the hold might be in need of a key. They will give you a small payment as reward for your charity. You may have one key quest active per each type of devious key (restraint, chastity, piercing).

+ New Place to Live: Rentable Cellar! For a modest weekly payment, you can now rent a cellar under Nazeem's Chillfurrow Farm. Has two beds, some furniture and plenty of storage including functional book, potion and drink shelves*. You can light and extinguish the candles in the cellar.

Version 1.2.3 Bugfixes

  • Fixed objective markers for Battleborn fetch quests. They will no longer point to Gwendolyn outside of the city walls when your task doesn't allow you to leave the city.
  • Increased maximum allowed time away from the city for tasks outside of the city walls.
  • Cleaned the masters (again) to get rid of the Creation Crap.
  • It is completely safe to update mid-playthrough from the previous version, even when the quests are already running. Only the mod's main download (Devious Slavery and Servitude.zip) was changed; no need to re-download any of the other files.

Version 1.2.2 Bugfixes

  • Smith quest: added a missing dialogue option for the smiths when you want to end a task but don't have enough of the ordered items in your inventory.
  • Live-in Maid quest: added missing exception for the guards to let you leave the city when ordered to get groceries from Carlotta or Gwendolyn (who's outside of he city)
  • It is completely safe to update mid-playthrough from the previous version, even when the quests are already running. Only the mod's main download (Devious Slavery and Servitude.zip) was changed; no need to re-download any of the other files.

Version 1.2.1 Hotfix

  • Fixed a bug in how the smith quest counted the raw materials in storage. This could lead to tasks rolling for which you didn't have the needed resources in storage. (Note that firewood-based items are always ignored as you can craft them at any time at the woodchopping block or smelter.

Version 1.2

New Content:

  • You can now rent storage in any of the eight towns of Jabr's Legendary Cities mod.
  • This is an optional component. Install it as a separate mod. It also comes with its own xVA synth soundpack.
  • Requires all eight plugins of the modular version of Jabr's wonderful mod (version 6.01)

Bugfix:

  • You can now properly stop renting storage through dialogue. Remember to take your items out of it first, or the merchant will gladly help themselves to them.

Updating:

  • It is completely safe to update mid-playthrough from the previous version.
  • Please note that the sound pack has not been changed. There is no need to redownload it.

Hi, thanks again for probably another piece of great work!

I do have one questsion though: Would it be possible to upload a version without the Creation Club content enabled as master? If you use stuff from those, please just ignore me.
I believe this can be done using TesEdit, I would do it myself, but I can't load the mod, due to my skyrim being 1.5.97 (missing masters). The CC content I'm speaking about is shown in the attached picture.

In any case, thanks for the upload, if the answer is no, then I simply can't play this one, but your other mods I do enjoy!
Have a great one and see you around!

Oh, thanks for the heads-up. I completely forgot about those! I'll see if I can remove them without breaking stuff... As far as I'm aware, I'm not using any of that content. However, it might be that these are a hard req. for CACO, too -- and my mod defintely won't work without CACO, though it might with an older version of it (one from before the fishies came along).

EDIT: Ah, damn! Cleaning masters in xEdit breaks the mod. It breaks a few critical dialogue conditions (player inventory item count after the crafting tasks) and thus the whole quest. Probably something that I referenced from CACO, which in turn referenced it from the CC crap. Not sure how I can fix that or work around it. Does anybody have an idea?

CACO has a installer for different versions of the game. I know for certain that 1.5.97 doesn't have the CC stuff. You could temporarily downgrade to this version, as long as your crafting system itself doesn't use any items that are specific of another version, this should allow you te remove masters whilst having CACO enabled.

NOTE: this won't work if for some reason in other version, the FormID got changed of an item you are using or the FormID is missing, but it's worth a shot.

Hope this sorta helps!

Great idea, thanks! But I think we have been barking up the wrong tree: I still got the same errors after doing the CACO backdating as suggested -- and on closer inspection, the errors were all related to Complete Crafting Overhaul, not CACO. xEdit might have "cleaned" that one out of the master list even though it is actually used by the mod. All errors went away by simply manually ticking CCOR when loading my mod.

Please see the attached file below for the cleaned .esp. Could you give this a try in your game? I'll gladly add it to the downloads if it works.

I will! Seems to work just fine! I haven't had all options yet, I don;t know what the Creation Club content added food items wise, and what mod changes it and how, but for now all options I had work.

Note I haven't gotten all options, just some. Some might not work, but the general stuff does!

Thank you, I really appreciate that. As far as I can tell, I'm not using any of the CC items, nor do they seem to be included in the CACO/CCOR recipes that I'm referencing.

This is looking promising. I'll add the patch to the download page.

I love the idea! You've been a true entertainer lately with your steady flow of mods :)

That being said... there is one major flaw in the blacksmith slavery...
I can't pick
Adrianne Avenicci as the owner :'(

Jokes aside (although that is a flaw!) - keep up the outstanding work and a huge thank you!

Thanks for the mod, it's great! A couple of minor bugs below!

As far as I know, there isn't a smelter in Riverwood which makes some of the tasks not possible for the smith?

The black ebonite restrictive boots show as gloves for me rather than boots, so they conflict with the gloves slot.

More immersion with the working as a tavern wench is appreciated. If you'd like to integrate the Blacksmith Slavery into Simple Slavery Plus Plus, the mod author needs to be contacted, they will do the integration. And, at least in my opinion, more outcomes for SS++ are always great.

Looks very interesting. Thank you for doing the non CC version.

A question - if someone wanted to substitute in a different outfit or Devious Device (or set of DD), do you think there's a way to do that?

Hmm.  I'm not able to initiate the blacksmith quest from the console.  It seems to start it in the console, but there isn't any dialogue etc. with anyone to kick it off or a quest in the journal (which would make it easier to keep track of, like dirty deeds, etc.)

That should be do-able, though with limitations and probably only in xEdit or the CK (I'd recommend creating overrides in xEdit). For the smith's quest, the devices that are referenced in the smith's quest properties would need to be replaced. The tavern quest uses its own devices, which you could edit directly. In both cases, only like-for-like devices should be used, i.e., boots for boots, suits for suits (or dresses for suits as they use the same device keyword), etc. Sorry that this isn't easier.

When you start the blacksmith quest, you should be greeted by a couple of pop-up message boxed in which you can select the min. duration of the enslavement and which blacksmith you want to go to. After that, a scene should start where the smith introduces himself. Did you try the console commands "sqs sis_q_master" and "sqv sis_q_master", or post here what they say?

Do you remember which of the tasks failed (which item(s) to craft)? I played through all of them with Alvor in Riverwood.

The bounty on running away will take a while to be added (up to two in-game days!) You should get a pop-up message at that point. The bounty will only be added to the blacksmith's home hold.

Killing the blacksmith is not an option I considered (are the three NPCs even killable?) The quest will likely get stuck if they die.

I didn't get any popups from the console command, and the Inn quests break once I accept them.  So, I'm not sure where to go from here.  I'll try the simple slavery option and see if it works.

Oh, I got what went wrong.  The cleaned version of the esp for SSE classic didn't include the bsa.

And you're making cool mods, no need to apologize for anything :)

Got it working.  It's great.

One thing that would be cool; once you are enslaved or working, the ability to select the areas covered with "required devices" would be great.

The selection of devious clothing you've put it in is great, but there's no way to swap out the extra restraint devices the same way.  For example, being 'forced' to wear a chastity bra for days kinda sucks (those bras are all terrible looking).  Maybe a ban checkbox list for those extra items?  Maybe instead of protection, a little extra jewelry (piercings) to keep her working hard or a sign you work her hard (harness, corset, etc.).

Thanks for this.  It works well with cursed loot and devious interests.  The simple slavery hook works great.

Can you make a version that doesn't depend on Complete Cooking and Alchemy Overhaul? That mod is busted, the salt piles don't work and all the recipes require them, it makes it impossible to do Lola quests and I'd rather have Lola than your mod if I have to choose.
