gaggedgirl123 Posted March 19, 2014 Author Posted March 19, 2014 When 1st release ?:-) You're gonna have to be patient in this one. As I said in the big bolded first line of the opening post, which somehow I should make even bigger, the project is on a temporary halt, and I have no idea when I'll start again. If anyone wants to try their hand at it, they're welcome to it, but as for me, I'll be waiting until my "working" conditions are a bit better, which means getting a new PC first.
Ashra XIII Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 In the meantime, the Arachnophobia Expansion mod might be something people want to try, as it seems quite similar to what the first "episode" of HiD was going to do.
gaggedgirl123 Posted March 20, 2014 Author Posted March 20, 2014 Ashra, I love you! I didn't even know there was a mod like this around lol. Should help people with the wait until I start working on it again. And BTW, it does share similar actors, but AE and HID have VERY different scenes and themes lol. Still, I think I might have to get it for myself
ltknight88 Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 I love this mod/Quest itea!! Good luck Gaggedgirl13!! Some ideas that struck me while reading through the thread: You could have a quest start, similar to the interaction with Sam Geuvenne from "a night to remember" http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:A_Night_To_Remember Maybe the guy introduces himself as "Sam's brother" or something else to try and catch the player off guard. It could be set to trigger at different taverns OR maybe each tavern gets their own character like Sam. So you have a couple drinks, start to feel the effects, and then Sam's friend walks up and says "is she out yet? Let's throw her in the carriage... At that point you realize you've been poisoned! You'd have to fight off the two attackers, with a decreased health or stamina. You loose, you wake up in their base. You win, then you'd still need to fight off their two associates standing next to a carriage outside the inn, and then make your escape!
gaggedgirl123 Posted March 21, 2014 Author Posted March 21, 2014 pretty good idea, I'm sure I could use it!

And BTW, it does share similar actors, but AE and HID have VERY different scenes and themes lol. Still, I think I might have to get it for myself you didn't know about that mod because it sprang up and released its beta a week or so after you went on your hiatus lol, so when you started, there was nothing, and it wasn't until you took your break that it began to take root. I watched it start up in an old thread I'd watched since the start too, so I remember when it first popped up
gaggedgirl123 Posted March 21, 2014 Author Posted March 21, 2014 BTW guys, if you ever feel like actually taking a part in this, any part, then by all means go ahead. I didn't really "reserve the right" to this mod, so anyone's welcome to continue it. I probably wouldn't encourage it if I knew I'd come back within a reasonable time, but here's the thing: I have absolutely no idea when I'll get back to working on it. And it definitely won't be before the summer
gaggedgirl123 Posted May 4, 2014 Author Posted May 4, 2014 BIG UPDATE, and I am sure you guys are going to hate me for this one... I hugely, HUGELY doubt I'll ever get back to working on HiD this year. The reason being that as soon as I'm done planning, which already takes a huge chunk of time, I'm going to be starting my own game company, and that will also be taking huge chunks of my time. I somehow dount I'd be able to start off with an adult-themed game, considering I also need to make a living out of it, and I'll be starting through kickstarter, but if I can, I'll be sure to include the ideas for HiD into the game. I'm very sorry to you people who were waiting patiently for this to even get to the beta stage, I really wish I could afford to take a few weeks off and at least finish the first encounter, but I really doubt that'S going to happen, at least not this yearn like I said earlier. If anyone is willing to take the wheel, I'd be more than happy to hand it over and give them total creative control though. In fact, that's what I'd love: that this idea doesn't go to waste
carnifex Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Sorry to hear that, the concept was very interesting. Good luck with your company, and make sure to inform us when your Kickstarter is up.

I'm very pleased to hear this and happy about you. Please keep in touch and let us know when the kickstarter moments come. I could do some video reviews of your next videogames!
xboronx Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I'm also very curious, hopefully you'll give us a kickstarter link to your project then once you started it. Good luck with your own video game . Kickstarter doesn't allow much adult content, but offbeatr does, xstoryplayer collected about 25k $ there for future development. So out of selfishness i hope you try an adult themed game, you had so much good ideas in this thread.
gaggedgirl123 Posted May 5, 2014 Author Posted May 5, 2014 Thank you all for the encouraging comments, they're very appreciated. And yes, I'll be sure to give a kickstarter link for my project one everything's settled.

Aliris Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Best of luck with it! I'll definitely keep an eye out here for when you post about it.
gaggedgirl123 Posted May 6, 2014 Author Posted May 6, 2014 sounds pretty interesting, what would be the theme of this new kickstarter project? if you know by now that is. Well, the current project is about a semi-linear sneaking/dungeon-crawl game spread across 10 levels, complete with boss battles, a story, character creation (although very simple), lots of replayability, and co-op, although I don't know how, or even IF I'll really add co-op. The planning's going along well, despire me beingg so tired when I have time to work on it that it moves very slowly.
bleeb Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 oh? sneaking as in stealth? or sneaking to avoid peril/etc. sounds pretty classic. any bondage/bondage-like themes to it? (bondage-like = webbing, plant binding, mummy wrappings, you know any non-traditional rope type restraint) or is it going to be "clean" of fetish and all other adult themes?
gaggedgirl123 Posted May 6, 2014 Author Posted May 6, 2014 It's going to be kinda-clean. Basically, there will be a few traps related around binding he player, but nothing that play too heavily on the bondage side. I'm not making an adult game yet lol. Also, sneak as in stealth. Think of a middle ground between Skyrim and newer Splinter Cell games. Nothing too fancy, but more than just crouching lol
bleeb Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 oh? I do like the sound of binding traps though, sounds very interesting, I hope to see this as soon as you get it up on kickstarter, sounds great EDIT: also, we can play female characters on it right? just checking. also, I've talked about it outside LL many times now, but it seems a lot of gamers miss those old school style "game over" screens when you fail, maybe something that could help you with your project, I could easily see some bound & gagged capture scenes on those if you had them just a suggestion though. aha, just had to clarify
gaggedgirl123 Posted May 7, 2014 Author Posted May 7, 2014 Soon as I'm done with the planning, which should be somewhere this summer (could be earlier, but I learned to give realistic deadlines lol), I'll up it to Kickstarter. I already have an account and a project started, I just need to fill in the details and publish it. Don't worry, nothing annoys me more than games that only allow a male character... expect maybe for very story-oriented games. I wouldn't see The Witcher without Geralt, as an example. A lot of gamers miss a lot of old-school elements. I'm aiming to blend modern and old-school designs. The game should be tough, teach you how to play it as you play it, Megaman style. Death should be something with consequences, not just a case of save and reload. Old games made you fear death by not having checkpoints. There has to be something I could do that's just as punishing of mistakes. I also miss the old-school game-over screens. Ever played Nightshade? no, not the PS2 ninja game, the NES detective one. If you got beaten, you'd go through trying to excape a certain death, like in most police movies with the over-complicated executions. It was almost impossible to escape, but was a nice touch. Also, I just finished planning a "prison" themed level, and therE's definitely a few scenarios where you could get captured. Now, I just need to figure out WHAT happens after capture that wouldn't make it an adult game, or even BDSM-centric, but would still allow us bondage lovers to have fun
bleeb Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 aha sounds good. ah yeah, though a very story-oriented game with a female lead could also be done just as good, assuming it was written with them from the start, changing it would be a bit odd lol. oh? yeah that's very true, I hear "games are too easy" a lot these days, and some of the reasons you said play into it oh? sounds good, would make sense as for not making it adult-oriented or BDSM-centric, you could simply have them tied up with ropes, with a cloth gag/tape gag, etc, and maybe a bomb peril? or some other sort. that's not BDSM, and movies and TV shows use it all the time, as well as comics, so that would work as well as still play into bondage fetishes. could also just have the "you're tied up in a cell: shut in, game over" type thing too. another question; what do you think this will release like? betas? etc. just curious what your plan is
gaggedgirl123 Posted May 7, 2014 Author Posted May 7, 2014 For now I don't know exactly. I'm still in the early stages of planning, and besides I need a fewteammates to help me on it. I can do 3D without a problem, scripting I can learn, but anything in 2D (like textures) would have to be made by someone else. Sound design would also need to be made by someone else, especially the music. I've been trying since I was a kid to make music, but I just don't have that talent yet
bleeb Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 aha, yeah that's all understandable. btw, what do you think about the suggestions I made for the scenes and things you said you weren't sure what or how you could do things on? (the tie ups, bomb peril, other peril, etc)
gaggedgirl123 Posted May 9, 2014 Author Posted May 9, 2014 For the ones on this one page, I actually think most of these would make pretty good game-over stuff. Plant bindings are something that always got my imagination flowing lol. If you're talking about anything earlier in the thread though, I really don't feel like going back and reading all that again. This thing reached 24 pages goddamnit!
bleeb Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 I meant the ones I suggested since we started talking of your kickstarter lol. glad you like the plant thing, vine bindings lol
WaxenFigure Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Whatever you do, if you are planning to make your game mod-able make sure that extendable objects are built into the game from the start and that all objects are extendable. Some bright modder may come up with something like an active landscape mod where you can take a shovel and dig a hole to bury a treasure, plant food, bushes, grass or trees or something else that extends the game in unique and creative ways as opposed Skyrim where only certain objects are even accessible in the first place and you cannot save new state information on the object where it belongs much less tie new script functions to that object.
