Wonko486 Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 (edited) Hello all, I'm returning to skyrim after a few years of break. As we all do; it's a cycle in this world, like death, taxes and housework. Anywho: I'm not asking for a wabbajack list, or a ready to go nexus mod list or any such stupid thing. I'm perfectly capable of doing the installing, testing, and minutiae of making it work: but I haven't been following at all since I walked away (where as I was constantly looking at fallout 4 mods even when I wasn't playing.), and I simply don't know what the current tools and mods that are being used. Like... FNIS has been replaced? Is the static mesh improvement project still the best for that? It basically feels like I'm starting over entirely, and it could very well be. Alright, so... For a basic modding experience, that fixes what bethesda didn't (or won't.) and creates a platform for further modification: Unofficial patch static mesh improvement SSE engine fixes Address library SKSE64 Skyui Bodyslide CBBE (or one of the others depending on clothing and animation mods.) Racemenu (edit: I forgot this one. Sorry!) Am I missing anything in terms "must have" core mods? And what tools have changed? I saw one youtube video that said fnis had been replaced with... nemesis? Have any other tools that were useful to the mods on this website become obsolete and been replaced? Edited November 24, 2024 by Wonko486 1

Wonko486 Posted November 24, 2024 Author Posted November 24, 2024 Great. Just a guy spamming a bunch of links. *reads* *reads more* Oh... These are actually all very useful, and pretty much everything I was asking for. Thank you kindly my friend. It's appreciated. 2
Wonko486 Posted November 25, 2024 Author Posted November 25, 2024 Thank you very much. I've managed to build a fairly... solid? I think? mod list that actually does not overtly affect game mechanics. But mysticism and adament are must tries for me this time. I managed to get nemesis to run correctly, and built my bodyslides (I am kinda disappointed in my own skills here: I could not find a satisfyingly curvaceous preset.) and the morphs. I need to install the crash monitor that was mentioned in the links, then actually try it. But we're making progress!

Doesn't mean you have to do it in one sitting. You can make minor changes as you keep playing. That's how I made mine over the course of several months and it turned out great. You don't even have to stick to one preset as the base. I effectively combined several different presets I liked. I liked one for weight 0 and another for weight 100. It was just a matter of marrying them together and then ironing out any discrepancies and adding stuff I liked from third preset. Edited November 26, 2024 by belegost 1
Gergar12 Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 Yes, FNIS has been replaced. With this: https://github.com/Monitor221hz/Pandora-Behaviour-Engine-Plus/releases/tag/v2.4.0-beta

This doesn't tell me anything. I am aware of Github's existence and the fact it's being used for software development, but I do not understand how it really works, so a simple, straight "yes" or "no" will do: Can Pandora be used in place of FNIS to support creature sex animations for any mods that rely on FNIS behaviour files to run those animations on SSE 1.5.97? Second question: How do you download stuff from Github? Edited November 28, 2024 by belegost 1

Second question: How do you download stuff from Github? No, there are still issues for a few mods that need FNIS (like Dragur sex animations); Pandora is still in active development. The Skyrim version/SSE 1.5.97 doesn't matter; it should work on all Skyrim versions. I tend to use it as I am less playing and more testing my mod-lists. It's very fast; that's the key defining feature for it, but buggy with some mods, mainly with Nexus. I know it had issues with ZAZ/ZAP 8.0, but that has been fixed. Wonko486 Posted December 3, 2024 Author Posted December 3, 2024 (edited) Alright, so I figured I would follow up. Either to satisfy the one or two whom might still care, or those whom would tear me a new one for my choices. You know: six of one, half dozen of the other. So, in alphabetical order: Adamant Ai Overhaul Alternate start Azurite weather 2 bug fixes AE Custom skills framework Custom skills menu dismembering framework ELFX and the hearthfire addon Gesture Animation Remix Hearthfire extended Immersive weapons + patches Immersive world encounters SE JK's skyrim all in one MCM helper Missives 2.03 sse Mysticism NPC animation remix OAR (obviously.) Precision Security Overhaul SKSE and its addons Skyrim Better roads and all its modules Skyrim Every single texture upscaled and reworked Skyrim sizes Skyui SMIM quality add on Static Mesh Improvement mod Traverse the Ulvenwald Unique Uniques Unofficial patch and the creation club content pack Visual animated enchants AE version Wearable Lanterns As well as the standard things like bodyslide, CBBE 3BBB, a couple of bodyslide presets, and a bunch of small content stuff like armor and clothing replacers, voice line additions, and minor world space changes like hold border banners and lanterns of skyrim, and of course; all the dependencies. And so far: it's nice and stable. Everything seems to be working, it hasn't crashed, the morphs work (mana tanks FTW!), and while I'm still sorting out what to drop and what to bring in (want to shorten my armor lists, UUNP is nice, but it's not really adding too much that I wouldn't miss with, say; the bikini armor mod.) and I haven't touched any sexlab stuff yet. But not a bad place to start so far, I think. I need something to overhaul follower interactions, I'm currently researching MCO (either as a supplement to, or replacement for precision. I don't know yet, I've barely looked at it.) and some other small world space changes, and a bunch of stuff in my tracked list on nexus. Edited December 3, 2024 by Wonko486
Wonko486 Posted December 4, 2024 Author Posted December 4, 2024 Alrighty, a final-ish update. I've installed devious lore and all it's dependencies and all their dependencies. I swapped out the book of UUNP, and db's armor replacer for the wonderful world of bikini armors. I actually started a new game, but ran into some imperial soldiers in studded armor from db's (granted, the missing textures made it look pretty good, and the physics still worked.) so I did some more intensive cleaning up to see if I could properly purge it, but I also found some evidence to suggest it was a fairly common problem. I also put in high poly faces, swapped the lantern mods (largely to see if I liked it better and no other reason.), elionoras breezehome, and some head bits for argonians. Oh, I'm also looking forward to see how all the loverslab stuff works (or doesn't.) with "Giantess size matters" mod. Which I've already used recently, and the changes to basic intent of combat is a wonderful change of pace, so I'm looking forward to seeing some mini-giantesses in bondage. Oh, and because I'm probably stupid; legacy of the dragonborn. It looks good, and I am a massive pack rat in game, so... works for me.

Wonko486 Posted December 4, 2024 Author Posted December 4, 2024 This statement is for the search engines and posterity: Deviousdevice.dll failed to load properly. Skyrim Ae 1.6.1170.0 (current update for time of posting.). I had not installed devious devices NG. Installing devious devices NG solved the problem.
Wonko486 Posted December 6, 2024 Author Posted December 6, 2024 ALSO for posterity. I installed naked defeat and the sex scenes all looked like the attached picture. Going to try another defeat mod and see if that fixes things. Also because naked defeat doesn't offer an aggression option. Apparently the dragonborn DOESN'T rape... go figure.

DDs for AE need DD NG, and disabling the "Devious Devices SE patch.esp"
