savantladylilith Posted January 18 Posted January 18 I decided to give this mod a try after I had finished TWR in another playthrough, and did quite a few runs with various perks, backgrounds, choices, etc and I'm here with the obligatory requests that you never really asked for XD Most are not gonna be in updates anytime soon and probably above what your limits are right now for making mods, but just things that would make the plot and world feel more...lifelike I guess? But most of this would require adding quests, not just touching up existing ones. A suggestion for adding something from TWR as well Spoiler I see everyone's "Can't we save Kendra" request but my suggestion is different. I get that Kendra has to die because she's tied in to the original SS quests, there's probably not a ton you can do with her moving forward, but it felt a little off to me that if you'd chosen to confide in her and basically would consider her your bestie by this point if you gross sob about a boy to her that you'd sorta just be like "welp, that's Goodneighbor for ya" when she dies directly in front of you. You question it, sure, but kinda just accept that there was no other choice, and let it go after that. I'd be salty and bringing it up every chance I get if that's me. If this was real life every time he asks me to do something "sure, I'll get right on it let me just go ask my best friend if she wants to join me oh wait you killed her" Hands me chems, "oh, I bet bestie will love to share thi-oh wait you killed bestie whoops" XD It seems a lot of players had characters that were invested in her already so maybe have an option to assign whether the character is going to hold this against him or maybe have the choice (fight vs talk) be something that appears later as a conflict. Spoiler I liked a suggestion like, a year ago-ish about a romance option or jealousy. I get what she's saying. There's like a little ingrained trait in girls where we don't actually WANT men to fight over us but at the same time it makes us feel desirable. A little bit of jealousy or possessiveness especially if the player chose to fall in love with Ford, could be kinda fun and also help advance some quests, or - have a similar temperament new character who is more in line with vanilla game Hancock, similar likes and overall style, maybe a new bouncer or something for the Velvet Lounge, since I assume the pole and entertainment eventually are gonna come into play in new quests. That gives you an excuse to have to spend time around him, and regardless of whether you're romantically with or just on good terms with Ford, you'd have that ambiance and private areas to escape to. You could either be going in to just check on things or to say hi to Ford, run into him, asks you to have a drink with him so he can get to know you since you'll be kinda like a type of boss too. You can have options for casual talk or flirting and depending on your choices Ford can always walk back in and based on what you choose know from your body language what's going on, act on that. If you chose not to follow a love path for him then him being jealous is still a possible outcome, but would change how you respond to it. Frankly if I'd hurt a guy like him but wasn't interested, and then hurt him again when he saw me interested in someone sorta working for him, I'd probably feel awful. If someone hurt me like that and then I saw them casually talking to someone I'd otherwise think would be their type, I'd probably have an "oh, it's not just me that you're not interested in, maybe you're just not really looking for anything serious" and feel better moment. It could either strengthen or weaken any friendship or romance happening there, give options for helping advance quests, allow for potential 3some options - whether secure or insecure about a romance or friendship, this could work. Like a, she's mine but I'll share if she wants to VS I know I can't have her but if you're going to get the girl in the end then I want to have as much of her as I can kinda vibe (PS, Ford is such a lil cutie, I will 100% of the time choose to fall for him when playing as my straight characters, you did a great job making him someone easy to fall for) I really liked that moment right before you go to the hospital where the player has a potential moment for jealousy with Avery. Girl, I will leap across this room and claw your eyes out if you don't back up off my man XD alternatively or in addition to the idea of a bouncer or guy rival, the player could have moments of insecurity if new girls go to work at the Velvet, waiting on people or service/dancing, even more realistic if literally nothing is happening between them and the player is feeling insecure anyway -and so long as it stays that way I will leave her eyes in her head 😜 Spoiler You know what Goodneighbor needs that you'll have to do more work than you wanna to put in? A radio station XD a real one, like DCR and not just Kent's station. Maybe it's a new job, or maybe Kent adds a second station that advertises for his main station. You know what else Goodneighbor needs? Those vending machines you put into TWR that can give me birth control and packs of cigarettes. Also the shower that you can finally remove cum overlays and fix your makeup once in a while without having to use a CWSS shower, because I may enjoy looking like a Picasso in the sheets but on the streets I'm more a Rembrandt kinda gal XD Actually, this probably won't require new quests, so, pretty please this would be amazing Spoiler And finally, I got the idea mostly because of Nuka Ride and how you get Cheddar at the apartment, well I use the WRK for Sim Settlements so I can add in furniture and stuff, I added some pets to my room. Obviously I put a chicken up there because I'm not me without stuffing chickens into every aspect of the game, but, on a realistic note I think getting a little kitten for the apartment would be super cute. It could either be a gift like from Hancock, Fahrenheit or Ford, or just one you happen to find during a quest that needs a home I like this a lot - more than I expected to, and it's a really cool way to complete the quests that we've done a million times the regular way, and the introduction of The Silver Shroud as an actual character was really cool. I intentionally avoid reading page descriptions when I try new mods (which often backfires for a bit until I get the LO right - CS and NR were both done without viewing more than the required mods and same here) so I actually was not sure WHAT to expect, other than you made TWR and it was good so I wanted to try this one. I don't know WHAT I expected really. I knew I was supposed to be some kind of assistant, there is a player home somewhere in town, it probably had AAF scenes since it's on LL in the section that it's in, but that was my impression going in. I guess this is another request for one day, but I really want more Shroud quests if there aren't any planned. It'd be cool to sorta play the Mistress of Mysteries to his real world character, as Little Pawn, which in a way you kinda already are, but I want to see how that dynamic builds up. I also had a moment where I realized....has anyone actually seen us both in the same room at the same time? Like, seen and lived? I had a few times playing where it occurred to me - he could have been in my head...I'm still not completely sure XD he's legit like a comic book character and he is either super dedicated to his craft of being the Shroud, he really IS the Shroud, or I'm hallucinating him which means I killed AJ and started all this, I wiped out Sinjin's gang on my own, I was passing letters back and forth to myself, I imagined him threatening me in the ally. I'm like an opera singer here, me me me meeeeeeee XD But I kinda like that I genuinely can't tell what is real and what is not when it comes to that guy. It's a little trippy to think too hard on this guy and I LOVE it. Anything that can make me question my own logic and sanity is pretty impressive. Frankly, I don't even think I want to know the real answer. It's almost more fun to question myself 🖤 1

They are indeed quite useful and come at just the right moment. A few weeks ago I started to rework this mod (again 🤪). Things like changing all the funny solutions I made in the earlier days of this mod and also edit some quests here and there, add new NPCs and also new quests. In the long run I also want to make my mods work together (if installed). Quote ...or I'm hallucinating him which means I killed AJ and started all this... While I was working on the current release of this mod, I thought about something similar. Is the player actually “good,” or do they just think they're doing good things and end up as the villain without realizing it beforehand? The guys in the warehouses could have been normal people who were just defending themselves after the player and a bunch of heavily armed mercenaries invaded their home...Who knows? 😃 1

I honestly always feel so awkward leaving suggestions because I worry they'll be taken as criticism of the mod or contribute to taking the fun out of it for a mod author, so this makes me happy 🖤 I'd LOOOOOVE a way to play both and have them connect somehow if you do. Spoiler If you're still trying to figure out how to connect the two, you could have Hancock send LP to pick up a report or something from CIT and when you get there it triggers TWR normally, because you get the message but the same situation arises where Yasmine is not there yet and offer new dialogue options there if you have the assistant job, or if you wanted to start TWR first then you could have to go to Goodneighbor with Yasmin or Jefferson (shhhh don't tell Ford about my crush on Jefferson he'll be like so not happy for me lol) for a quest and it could trigger this mod, maybe slightly different in that you still do everything as normally but have whoever came with you either wait around maybe at the Third Rail for you, or something and once you choose to keep playing the mod, have some kind of interaction? I have no idea what you're changing in this mod, or what you'd plan to change in TWR but based on the mods as is those would be fun as a player to go through 1 hour ago, Heinzelman said: While I was working on the current release of this mod, I thought about something similar. The guys in the warehouses could have been normal people who were just defending themselves after the player and a bunch of heavily armed mercenaries invaded their home...Who knows? 😃 Spoiler So basically how I feel and what I wonder every time I do this quest in the base game XD I'm sure it would be fun regardless but I'd love to see this done in a way that gives replayability and roleplay value, the way some of your other choices have. I really appreciated that about this mod particularly, where depending on what you do before arriving and your perks, how you interact with people your character can have a different experience overall even if the main outcome is the same, like even the slight difference of knowing what the subway line colors mean was really cool, going from one character to a new one. It would be so fun if this became like a roleplay type choice, depending on what you do during the quests. Like, when you're asked to take care of the warehouses there is an option that's like "killing some guys sounds like fun" and two others of figuring it out or not wanting to fight. I think if someone chooses killing being fun the outcome of who you are should be vastly different from the other two, putting you like in a villain type role. It could change how people interact with you and treat you, I'd still play even if you just outright make me the villain of course, but it might still make it harder for some new players if they've invested in a more kind character getting thrown into being a bad guy. Also an alternative to add more villain themes is how much of Kendra's advice did you take to heart the day you met, like if you choose to threaten vs use charm/sex/flirt to get what you want, that could be a way to track some kind of villainy. Maybe some here or there is ok but too many and it starts to change how your interactions with people go, like maybe they're less willing to talk to you and more afraid or angry with you? SUPER cool would be if you choose enough villain dialogue and actions you have to face off with The Shroud, maybe like peaceful resolve at the end if you choose the right dialogue like if you didn't realize how bad you'd become and promise to change vs taking on that villain role and having to either fight or lose him as a quest giver (think like a companion who is mad at you and just scolds you every time they see you because they're done with you), or if you choose enough more shy/submissive options or are more kind/professional/question things like killing the warehouse guys maybe, then you get new quests there, and other different outcomes. Oh, and on the matter of the warehouses, you could have them either be allies or being problematic for the triggermen in TWR which could also be a reason that the mod triggers if you have both 1

And I want to add more between these mods, but it can be a bit tricky, because I always need to check the current progress of the secondary mod to avoid any mess. I wanted to check this out and apparently Magnolia recognizes you too!! Spoiler I think that it would be such a headache to have to add in progress checks back and forth between the mods for sure now that I think about what that would probably involve. I don't think anyone would fault you if you did something like...check when the game launches if the player has both installed, if no then just run whichever one is normally, if yes then maybe add a tiny marker or quest or something that directs a player TO that other quest? So, like I know for Fens Sheriff Dept the mod directs you to DC by having caravans handing out fliers for the diner, The Machine and Her has the radio...is there a way you can change how far the Silver Shroud broadcast that Kent has can go? Like, if you're choosing vanilla or vault dweller routes, you'd get it exiting the vault and if you're wastelander then wherever you do spawn it would start up too, it could be just like a super simple "quest" of click-and-done, so you get a quest like it looks like I've found some sort of radio station, I wonder if it's from a nearby town? You have to tune to SS radio and when you do the goodneighbor marker appears on the map as it would if you were near it in Boston and did the same. That way players are more likely to start one mod before the other, you can either add in a small quest either having to pick something up from near CIT, drop something off, or even find a note in one of the warehouses on/near the door or on one of the bodies that triggers TWR to start. If you want the warehouse guys to be allies of the Fenway Patrons you could have the note mentioning some kind of job and you can go to check it out to make sure it's not something that could harm goodneighbor or if they're enemies of the Patrons you could have them holding a note where they were gonna warn those two guys you help Jeff with in the beginning of the mod but now you have the note and want to see what was happening I thought of a small way you could tie the mods in without really needing to add quests, just add a dialogue and adjust a reward based on it, it would be cool if you've already at least once practiced pole dancing at the Velvet lounge, when you go to Old Neighborhood to talk to Amber and Santiago asks you to poledance, if you get like extra caps for being better than expected and it's kinda implied that you've done this before. If you didn't alter which mod starts first then you don't even have to change anything with your dance at the Velvet Lounge if you've already danced for Santiago's customers since Hancock is gonna be a lil shit about it and make you try to keep dancing for him even if you totally killed that dance floor XD but Santiago might be impressed in reverse considering you're not *really* a sex worker of any sort (probably. possibly) 1

Like, if you're choosing vanilla or vault dweller routes... The original idea was that the player couldn't be Nora and would be forced to use an alternative start mod because I wanted to use the “sole survivor” (Nate, but as an NPC) as a potential love interest and main character (while the player would only take on a supporting role). But I backed away from that (and Ford was born as a replacement) because it was too difficult (I was just starting to make mods at the time and spent days figuring out how to get the player to drink whiskey and stuff like that Sometimes I want to go back to that idea, but I think it's better to stay away from it, and apart from a few not-so-good decisions, I'm happy with the direction LP has taken. So it's okay if the player is Nora or Kate or Starlight. One thing I will change is the approach to the vanilla quests. In LP2.x, I was still too unsure to take on the vanilla story and left it optional. The next version will be a bit bolder. 1

I say this having NO clue how one would even go about doing this, so I have no idea how much might need to go into doing it this way, but could you kinda incorporate some sort of alternate start of your own, or take over after character creation the way that FROST does? Like you can create the character and then get a message box pop up letting you know that this isn't real, either just matter-of-factly or in a joke (I must be having a weird dream, last time I drink before bed kind of joke) and you select between traits for the mod that you want people to have? Or, modify the SMU menu the way it is for Nuka Ride to just let players click the Little Pawn options they want. That way you can narrow it down to like, wastelander vs maybe prewar but not Nora, add in others like you say above that you want to for compatibilities and all that. Regardless, if you want to remove the option of Nora route and make this for new game only then you should! Like obviously when you're capable and actually feel like it, but you should do it in a way that's going to be most fun for you to play first and foremost. Use the selections from SMU to alter dialogue slightly or something, like depending on what you chose as what you were doing with your life, and people shouldn't complain too much. You'd have to make it clear that it's not update friendly at that stage is all, but luckily there's not too much they'd have to redo just yet I have to be honest, if choosing between Nate and Ford I'd still choose Ford anyway, unless you massively modified Nate's personality enough, so this may have been a good call. I can't be the only one XD Don't ask me why but even when my character likes him, for some reason, he annoys me 🤔 Actually, one thing I did like about FSD a lot is that you essentially become a companion character, even getting lollipops called "sidekick snacks" which I also like a lot about mods like LP, where you don't feel so much like a main character/god, and makes it more immersive. Not that I'm not a total Goddess and all, but sometimes I would like to moonlight as a normal human XD Adding in more that makes you feel like less of a main character would be so, so appreciated!!! It's partly what I enjoy so much about doing the quests for Shroud, because it feels like he's a main character for sure, and I'm a type of sidekick. Yes pleeeeease change the way the vanilla quests function for players. I've actually been avoiding them anyway because they don't feel right for my character to do them. With all the holotapes for the Railroad in Goodneighbor and the guards mentioning it I've gotten into the RR (which made it really cool to do Bella's quest) in a couple but aside from map markers and stuff being suggested by guards you have no real reason to do them. The Cabot quest always triggers but I don't really do that one as is, because again there's no real incentive for a character who chose the job she did, so if you're doing quests from the vanilla story over, I have a request to please do this one, even if it's just given differently to me 🥺

That means the plugin isnt really enabled. Are you using the Vortex Mod Manager? I've heard that it can sometimes be difficult to configure. If I'm correct, you need to make sure that mods are deployed and enabled during installation, otherwise the problem you describe may occur. If that doesnt help, try to reinstall.

I'm improving many parts of it, adding more options, etc. Too early to talk about details and it will still take some time till its ready 🙂 4

I just tried out Triggerwomen, only did the first quest. And I like that it had the option to not give into sexual demands, with hubard? (can't remember name, guy waiting in room at old neighbourhood). Seems to fit my head cannon better, and the general vibe of the clubs is nicely done. Yeah, I'm gonna have a proper, playthrough with this one. Cool, if Little Pawn had options like that, where possible, such as the first part, when Hancock says to have sex, could be an option, where if you accepted a drink earlier, you then later polity refuse sex but then pass out; and then get a message pop up, that you wake up unable to remember, what had happened last night. But, then you would have to change the rest of the interactions to fit in. Just my opinion (I don't know anything about modding). The having to sleep with Hancock and forced sex scenario's didn't fit my fresh out the vault character 😅, but I can see why people like it. 1

You raise an interesting roleplay issue here. I use Start Me Up and play as a wasteland scavver, so would fully expect sleazy encounters in that type of world. 2

I thought it was totally immersive too that the boss would expect sex from the new female employee. In a many country's that was expected even in our timeline, until not so long ago and is some countries is expected even now. So I expect in the post-Apoc it definetly would be de rigeur. 2

In my roleplaying, I like to think having options (where possible) for pc to not agree to every sex request, but totally expect the sleazy encounters Edited March 6 by M.BISON 1

The mail delivery guy should give you a "(LP) Letter from a stranger". Its probably already in your inventory, because this scene is easy to miss as it doesnt start the dialog cam. Gubbe73 Posted April 2 Posted April 2 (edited) Hello Just finished your lovely mod. I had 0 issues at all, it was for me totally bugfree and i had a good time. It is also its "own thing" and is a different experience more "nice and not so brutal" as many other mods here on LL (that i also like tbh). I really like this mod has its own distinctive style!! And my hero silvershroud saved me, just awesome hehe 🙂 Keep it up and thanks again dear modder for making fallout 4 feeling fresh 10 years later! Edited April 2 by Gubbe73 1

Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words. I'm glad everything went well and that you liked my mod. 🙂 I'm currently working on a revamp of this mod, which will include many new features and additions while still hopefully preserving it's own idea. The rework itself is almost finished. I hope to have everything else done before july. But I can't really say for sure, it might take longer. 4
