Guys is the game cooked? It's been years and there's no decent mods out there yet

I've played Skyrim and FO4 long enough to know that the really good mods only appear after 2 or 3 years. Like Skyrim was just texture swaps during 2012.

Man, this is the truth.
I was chomping at the bit for Fallout 4 mods and it legit took 3 years for mods beyond texture swaps, weapon mods and mediocre mesh replacers to appear.
Now we have a pretty healthy collection.

Hell, even Skyrim Special Edition took a while for mod creators to catch up to Skyrim LE. It took a long time for adult mods that weren't ports to show up exclusively on Skyrim SE.

The #1 reason Skyrim is still as popular today as it is is due almost solely to NSFW mods. Anyone who claims different is either ignorant or has an agenda. I suspect that once the SF modding ecosystem is more robust, and more NSFW mods get created and shared, that the average number of SF players will climb again.

The DAZ-alike (UBE for Starfield?) looks incredibly promising, but keep in mind that UBE 2.0 is extremely performance heavy, so it really only works to replace the Player Character (and maybe a companion or two) with that mesh. It's not a viable NPC body replacer, which is what we really need right now. But maybe drp will keep this in mind and tone it down a bit from where UBE is currently.

Exactly.

I'm just hoping when/if we get some sort of "official" framework like Sexlab, its comes mostly fleshed out.

if you call mods like Rigmor of Bruma, Sim Settlements , Tales of 2 Wastlands , Fallout London, etc as bad. you should really stop playing,

This way, you can continue to reach conclusions of astronomical proportion based on absolutely nothing.

NAF is way more powerful. Just needs someone to make a user friendly api. I think that's what you mean, actually, the user interface portion. NAF is pretty much poserHotkeys functionality now which I'm very greatful to Snap for because it was out of scope but he did it anyway.

So anyway about the body situation, I don't pretend to be completely clued up but as an animator I've looked into it a bit, I talked a bit to the maker of the DAZ body and tested the new SFF. I also am making my own body mod now which is a very simple implementation but easy and highly compatible. They all have pluses and minuses. We might not know for two years lol.

Conceptually speaking, this is a problem mipmapping was designed to address.

Though doing a plausible job of mipmapping for npc mods would require better modding support tools than I am aware of. (And, of course, it's rare that the player character would be in scenes which would benefit from mipmapping.)

When is CBBE coming? I wish it would from the bottom of my hart but it will never happen. unless you want to put your money up front. it is so hard a time intensive to create such a Fallout 4 framework. we are talking about 4 people working 192+hr each to get a working test demo. yet you want it for free???? Please please prove me wrong!!

While I do think the modding scene for this game will get a few good nsfw mods down the line, it's clear that there is very little enthusiasm at the moment. I hope we have some things by 2028 like CBBE.

DJ Legends got body slide and outfit studio to work in Starfield here. Still in testing phase though. Maybe CBBE might happen after all

This is great news. So what are the missing feature? Reference bodies?
