Apparently, Britain is banning fake rape porn.

Recommended Posts

I can understand that some say ban all porno specially parents if some young kids are raped which offcorse is terible and those who have done this must be in prison for rest of there lifes.

But where we draw a line and is banning right tool?

I don't think banning porno on internet stop raping.

And what we wanne ban next...?

Goverment only want to control, i seriously doub there motives why they wanne ban porno or other things they dont agree with.

Next computer animated rape which not involved any human beings is not aloud watching or playing it you end up in yale.

Chopping of heads slaughter humans with loads of blood NO PROBLEMO, but naked skin, nipples or genitals your BUSTED and go to jail ;)

They just dont want a free internet.

Big brother watching, 1984 is comming soon near PC rig in your house:P

Don't you realize how sick you are if you watch that shit.  You should watch something healthy.. like the gory bloody horrific murder scenes in movies.  Or depictions of rampant large scale massacres with body counts that rival many battles fought throughout history.  Or perhaps a nice family film depicting cannibalism.

Everybody knows that violence resulting in senseless death and slaughter is much better than anything relating to sex. Cut off or sew up your genitalia right now... if you want to be a proper human.

Um. Certainly, you haven't heard about consensual BSDM, have you? The idea here is to prevent rape culture from spreading, but "banning" something is anti-democratic. You are preventing free speech and share of ideas, actual rape is... I can't even find the right word to express how bad, disgusting and mind-breaking it is, but we are talking about fiction, porn, and this could extend to what we have here at Loverslab with some mods that allow the player or the NPCs to rape each other.

Don't you just love it when politicians discover the internet.  First clean up the internet, then sort out world peace in a jiffy... is there an election coming up? Funny how when it comes to this sort of thing, there's always a lot of announcing and never much getting done. Filtering google search terms by god... well, now, taking it seriously are they? Good one!

The problem is that politicians in a way reflect some of what a number of people want, and in a democracy this allows for both pleasant, unpleasant decisions. The system is volatile to that point; we can't say for sure what tomorrow's politicians will reflect, not only they will reflect what their voters supposedly want, but they will also reflect anything people can allow. I admit, that they seem to hate the idea of net neutrality, nor seem to see the internet as what it is from our point of view.

We need a newer generation of politicians that also has the proper view and understanding of the internet to approach such subjects that aren't as simple as "Let's ban X." "Let's ask X service to provide with Y data."

To some extent, this may have positive results, but puts the whole idea of what the internet is for David Cameron and his administration, and where the UK politics as a whole is heading into question and inevitably shows that--not that they are incompetent--but they can't approach their voters into the same grounds when it comes down about the internet and this is reflected by such wet work when it comes to internet-related issues.

"Oh, people are doing bad stuff on the internet!"

"Let's kill their access to the 'bad stuff' without thinking about all the lectures of political science, philosophy and law. Or considering how our voters may or not use the same methods for discreet, private and intimate purposes that aren't within the scope of the 'bad stuff' we want to stop."

What scares me isn't that Britain is banning fake rape porn.

It's that the wording OP used implies there's real rape porn. I find that idea to be a little more disturbing, personally.

Well, there have been those cases of an astonishing combination of evil and stupid where rapists (and other criminals) have filmed their crimes. Say hi to your Darwin award!

Lack of respect for free speech seems to be a general problem among British lawmakers, and that's a very unpleasant thing :(

And I thought Germany was already the worst of the worst in internet banning policy. But I am absolutely, positively sure that people will find a way around these bans. Be it via VPN or TOR (which in Germany is now on the list of tools to be illegalized, at least that's on the political agenda).

And guys, there is only one reason why politcians and the ones in power hate the net and want to ban it as they see fit: Because people like you and me now and always will be able to communicate with each other using it. We can even communicate quite safely via encryption. Ooooooh, that's not good in the eyes of global players and their political lackeys. People talking about social and political fuckups across any border in realt time. To make things public that without the net would have been kept under the carpet. There is no greater threat to oppressive power than the oppressed talking to each other, exchanging ideas and pointing out facts.

Nowadays it doesn't take some biased, paid and thus highly dependant "professional" journalist to bring facts to public ears. It takes... the net. Even one guy alone can make the big guys squeal like the pigs they are when blowing a whistle. Just think of E. Snowden.

That's why those in power and their marionettes, the politicians, want to control the net and its contents.

Politicians the world over like to project themselves as the "do-gooders" by using a shotgun approach to anything deemed offensive.

Using fake morality laws to distract people from their own lack of morals, that is.

Anti-porn laws must be a real land-mine for politicians though. I would guess it makes a lot of people really upset but few dare to say anything, so the politicians pat themselves and are completely oblivious to the number of votes they will lose.

Mean while they say they're more free than the us.

I'd rather not have these kind of comparisons, or it'll land us in 'pure politics' and flaming, leading to thread closure. You'll find politicians in every country when it comes to stunts like this, nationality has nothing to do with it, and neither does political ideology, really.
