Simple solution: don't read the forums.

 

I've been using Nexus for 14 years now, I visit it on average once per day, my download history in my profile is 84 pages long, yet I don't have a single post on their forums. I'm there to get mods, not engage in social drama.

You can pay them for premium service, not the authors directly. Nexus pays mod authors for number of dowloads (terms and conditions apply (tm)) and there are no rules against linking your patreon/coffee/whatever on your own mod page.

 

With the amount of flak Nexus is getting for their various decisions, one thing has to be handed to them: they do not paywall (yet).

OK. When you go on Nexus, you can just download the mods, right? No charge for downloading mods. They don't make you have to pay for it. That's what I'm saying.

I do not understand this thread... you and you alone are responsible for what happens to your game never had an issue over at Nexus my only real complaint would be they delete  on a whim or a unfounded complaint. As for the forums there could care less about them I do not use them.

Oh yeah I can confirm this. One time I posted my screenshots on the Nexus to debug a problem, and I got these nasty comments that criticized me bimboifying my game. It was PSBoss' Azura statue in the screenshot... But the screenshot section is filled with lewd mods, so it was kind of hypocritical. For all the infamy this place gets the community is top notch, and it's what kept me here ever since I made my first post.

Sadly unless I just want just adult mods I have to go there eventually given all the quest gameplay overhauls etc are over there I wish there was an alternative unfortunately there is not
