Sneaksmile Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I use ECE and Racemenu but now I have troubles now I can't select the eyes and the coverwoman mod looks weird ,witch mod I need to deactivate....ECE or Racemenu? someone have this trouble to ?
gvman3670 Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 If you're using both ECE and RaceMenu you should only have one active at a time.
Sneaksmile Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 If you're using both ECE and RaceMenu you should only have one active at a time. But all the changes on the body and face of my character that I do with the ECE will be lost if I turn off ECE?
gvman3670 Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 There can be some changes switching from one to the other. But I haven't used RaceMenu in a while so I can't say for certain that you'd see any. I do know that when I tried running both at the same time it wasn't exactly nice and would sometimes crash.

I have the both and I never have crashes when I open the Racemenu I think I'm lucky ...then I'm going to change the eyes deactivating the ECE and then activate it again ...I hope that works , many thanks for respond....some people here are really shy or something like that and never respond.
gvman3670 Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 some people here are really shy or something like that and never respond. As far as Skyrim modding is concerned this is the most friendly and helpful community I've seen yet. By far. You can ask questions in the Nexus forums and get absolutely no responses or negative ones that don't help at all. With a membership that big you would think answers would come in seconds, but they just aren't very friendly over there. Maybe they're just too scared of the banhammer?
Nemmitron Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I'm useing Racemenu with CharGen Extension (ECE Morph) and i'm really happy with this setup. And I think the best part of Racemenu is the Overlays Plugin. I LOVE tattoos ! This setups runs on my pc since two weeks, before i had Racemenu + ECE setup. But I miss good compaibility with this. I mean, it works and i had no problems, lke CTD's or something, but I was never really really happy with this.
Rayblue Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 On my new playthrough, tried ECE again. But it seems that I couldn't get the kind of facial shape I wanted for my character, so I wound up going back to Racemenu with the ECE-like sliders in.

Well yes, this forum it's a little more friendly than Nexus but not too much ... many people here think that all the users are geeky-nerds with big glasses that know everything about computers and never respond the basic questions , also many links on this site are broken and nobody re-upload them and also many people upload content without preview pics and that it's really annoying.

So you recommend me that definitely disable the ECE and add CharGen Extension to the Racemenu to replace the ECE ? I don't know many things about the mods but I think many of them need the Racemenu, right? I love the tattoos of the Racemenu too !!!
Bonnie Lass Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 ECE has way better body sliders in my opinion, and I can't figure out how to add 'em to RaceMenu. So I'm either sticking with ECE or using both.
Riex Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I was using both to be honest, I love the tattoo overlays and love the options on ECE. If you use both you get a few less features and I couldn't seem to export anything but it worked. I just tried switching to just RaceMenu + Chargen, but I just cannot get a nice round face or nose out if it. I wish I could just switch. If anyone has any tips to get the face/nose more rounded, let me know. I really just want to recreate Vaelara (Below) with just racemenu. I just cannot seem to get my nose rounded or my cheeks, it's really annoying. ;P Sorry for the blown out lighting, this was not intended as a character showcase I was simply saving my settings for this character as my save game got corrupted and I decided just to start over. To be honest I thought about just using ECE, but I really love the tattoo options, especially since you can make them glow and I wish you could make facepaint glow as well.. I had a really great looking magic character before this one with glowing tattoos.
XunAmarox Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I prefer RaceMenu because ECE greatly changed how my face looked which wasn't really acceptable.
Cyndi Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I originally used just Ece, then I used both, and now after a clean install, I'm using Racemenu with chargen and ece morphs. Characters seem fine either way to me. I do like being able to save a basic outline of what I like for a face as a preset though. I do play on a laptop though, so maybe I don't see stuff as clearly as some of them super computers can put out. Still pretty good though I thought anyway. Haven't tried the spf command yet with my current setup for editing npc's however. Hope it carries over properly to ck fine.
kusman Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 ECE. i have tried to install both racemenu and ece at once but... to throw away extra feature for UI change is not worthed imo
hryh23k9823u Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Those extra features are in Racemenu: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/36925/? Plus more options like overlays, that ECE doesn't have. Also, compatibility with custom races...

It's my personal taste and works great for me.

iamgregor Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 I prefer ECE not just because of the vertex editor, but because I see a lot of the feature in Racemenu really unnecessary. Don't see the need for the tattoo overlays for the body. I could just open gimp anytime and apply tattoos with more customisability and with BodyChange anyone can isolate their characters body with the NPCs. Some of the features like "displaying racial skill bonuses" do not arouse interest. Racemenu has similar features like ECE (e.g light options), but I feel like there's less options and overall ECE does better. The features that come with Racemenuplugin.esp seem pointless compared to the sliders added by ECE such as the "head size" adjuster. I prefer my characters to have a decent head to body ratio without being a giant. The features that come with Racemenumimic.esp can be useful but there will be problems such as: facial presets/morphs, unnecessary features such as: hair color/type, and scars. Despite my criticism, remember you are entitled to your own opinion. Whether you choose Racemenu or ECE is entirely your choice and doesn't make you less, of a human. edit: my mistake, there is a "head size" slider for RaceMenu. Nevertheless its good to see that RaceMenu is getting better with every update. The updates might go to the point where it's just personal preference. In spite all this I celebrate the diversity of the community . I decided to add my character to the conversation. Still having confidence issue (but I do need feedback after all) of whether to post my characters in public. I created this character without using ECE or RaceMenu, ended up making a pixy looking young-Imperial. Diesel_old.png Still not completely comfortable with the loads of feature ECE added. Tried my best anyways. I'm planning for this character to be a half-rogue, half-mercenary bounty hunter-esque (?) something along those lines. A highly independent Imperial/elf women. So in-comparison to my previous character, she has a more athletic body proportion. Supposedly fit for combat. Diesel.png Well I'm not sure if anyone views this thread anymore but I've been editing my character alot the past month. So update Helena.png I need to change the nose alot. The lack of enough poly is visible even at a distance. I'm having a hard time getting my character the way I want, but I found a follower that's almost perfect. How do you get the mimic function to work? It says something about adding a spell through the console, but the command doesn't work as-is. I imagine you're supposed to replace the X's with something, but what?

Guest Omega1084 Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 I prefer RaceMenu. I tried ECE and it's nice and all but RaceMenu's new updates dragged me back. I was okay with it.
Skyrimfloo Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 RaceMenu with CharGen covers pretty much everything ECE does, and one of those is already working on the manual vertex editor, so I would say that ECE has its days numbered.
blabba Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 O_o If you update to the Alpha release of SKSE (1.7.0) and load up racemenu you'll see a few more new racemenu icons including: A VERTEX EDIT MODE! Disclaimer: It is not functional yet, I believe Expired is still ironing out bugs and waiting for the SKSE team to finish the 1.7.0 update. Anyway, soon enough there will be less excuses to keep using ECE over Racemenu (<--- My personal opinion lol, feel free to rebuke it)
dobmc Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 I remember hearing people talk about the addition of the vertex editor in racemenu more than a month ago. Actually if you look back at one of the first posts of this thread it was already planned since last November… And here we have blabba confirming that the vertex editor will be included when USKP gets updated to 1.7. The current version of USKP is 2.0.2a, wait what.

This is why I should stop posting in LL and go back to learning new tricks for modding in Skyrim xD! I fixed my original post to reflect it should be SKSE not USKP. Edit: Too many Skyrim acronyms....
