Basically, i was saying the Nuka Cola from a roleplay side. Maybe one want to make a character that doesn't like drink much alcohol or he is a "milkdrinker".

And that's fine.  I can add it.  I'm just not sure it belongs in drinking.  Here's my issue.  Drinking is just a word to describe the social activity.  aka Having cocktails together.  The drinks themselves don't carry the effects, but the entire activity does.

Which means I would have to un-apply any effects for that activity just for nuka.  This makes me think that if nuka isn't going to play a role in that activity, then it simply shouldn't be included in that activity.

As for role playing, there is nothing in the drinking option that forces you to drink.  You can always say no, and it isn't beyond reason that even a milkdrinker might get asked to have a drink.  When you choose the drinking option it's only an exchange of goods, even then no one is forced to actually consume the beverage.  Also, it's not the only way to get someone to like you in this mod, just one of many.

Maybe that's the problem really.  I think once I add more activities you won't think you're missing out on something so much.  Then you can easily ignore the drinking option as a milkdrinker, because there will be other options that suit you.

If you're looking for something like having a soda together, Sarsaparilla is in eating.  Nuka would fit nicely in eating in this context imo.  These are just my opinions.  What do you guys think?

*I freely admit that the reason I want to either go all in with nuka (full drinking activity effects) or all out (add nuka somewhere else), may be because I'm being lazy.

Posted

The issue here is options in an unintuitive location; users aren't going to go to "food" to share a Sarsaparilla when "drinks" is an option. Can you have Nuka-Cola show up under a new menu option "non-alcoholic drinks" but still use the food activity internally?

Posted

Right I think that's part of the problem.  All dialog are currently placeholders, none of which are intended to be permanent.  Add to that the fact that I use a lot of colloquialisms to describe the placeholders.   Drinking could mean other things to other people.  For me, where I'm from, if anyone came up to me and asked if I wanted to go get a drink, it would never be an indication of non-alcoholic beverages.

I'm trying to think of a term for a placeholder that is broad enough to add other things besides nuka.  I don't want to add a new activity just for nuka cola.  Maybe I could split eating up, move some of them over to a new activity called 'Snacks' or something and put nuka and sarsaparilla over there along with all the junk food type foods?  Then leave the meals in eating?

You see what I mean though?  I don't want to struggle too hard on an issue that will probably be solved when real dialog has been added.

2 ways that I can think of to handle it:

1) If you want to leave it under drinks, you could have it as one of those ways to debuff people who are trying to get you drunk to take advantage of you.  It could apply both ways (PC or NPC).  It could lessen desire or make them more aggressive depending on <magic scripting>.

2)  Having a cola seems like a thing to do while hanging out.  You could make non-alcoholic drinks and/or snacks a semi-random chance.

Of course, if you have a snack option, meals are supposed to be during certain hour ranges, so you could just have a snack option during the gaps, like if it was after 2 PM and before 6 PM (or however the meals are scheduled currently) and so on.

<crickets>...

Update in the OP.  Dating is back in, but has been redefined.  It now means 'Let's get together sometime.', as opposed to 'Let's make an appointment to meet.'.  Eating and drinking conversations are also back in.

EDIT: Dancing as a date activity and pick up line is now in.  Also possible stalker double team upon submit.

EDIT EDIT: And.... fixed some broken stuffs.

T!:  Couldn't get the last things ironed out before work this morning, but most of equippable flowers is working.

You can give the flowers through dialogue.  NPC will equip it, and then after 24 hours, the flower vanishes.

Things not working/implemented yet:

  • 24-Hour restriction doesn't apply to PC (haven't implemented)
  • Equipping the flower should give the PC CHA +1 (haven't correctly implemented)
  • NPC should be unequipping the flower during combat and then reequipping afterwards (not working)

Once it's finished, you're welcome to pull in stuff for DRL and reconfig the gifting mechanism (probably sub-option in the DRL menu).

Don't ask me why I put the textures in a BSA.  I don't remember now.

What are you going to do with it?  I could just buildref it in as a gift item if you plan to release it.  I'm going to do gifting a little differently this time.  Much less restrictive, you'll just need to have the item.  Since that's the case, I think I'm going to simply provide support for any items added by other mods. ie. chocolates, etc.  As opposed to swiping the assets from other mods and including them.

I'll eventually release it, but I plan on doing a lot more with it.

  • Add a vendor on the Strip
  • Make buyable and craftable weapon versions with damage for silly time
  • Add a greenhouse home at the top of the Ultraluxe (hopefully.  I may have to put it on The Tops.  : P.  I need green in my game.)

That's probably it.

Shit.  I didn't tell you where to find them.  A copy of each is hovering in the Goodsprings gas station.

Edit:  And if the flowers don't look right when equipped, it's cause I didn't update the BSA after resizing and rotating the flowers.  : P

@nyallich  Looking forward to it.  I'll sure make room for it.

Update in the OP.  Taking baby steps towards getting prostitution back in.  Now, if you set the player sexuality in SexoutNG to gay, there is a 25% chance NPCs of the same sex as the player will also be gay.  I put this in as a sort of test for if/when I try making prostitution compatible with males (so they have customers).  We'll see how it goes.

EDIT:  Bi does nothing.  Only the 'gay' setting, and only on the player.

I had an idea: what about when you reach certain point in a relationship with a prostitute NPC, she/he asks for a (big) certain amount of caps to buy her/his freedom or to terminate her/his contract? Could something like that eventually be included?

Posted

I don't know.  Maybe.  I've got a full list of hooks to put in where the storyline allows for it.  So it will be a ways off.  Where would they live after their change?  Wouldn't they need to change class?  Sounds problematic.  I'll see what I can come up with.

Is anyone else having trouble getting Sexout Lust to work with DRL? I remember Jezzy had a problem earlier this month, but was it resolved?

Lust's orgasm tracker fires off just fine for other mods; it's just DRL. The bug occurs on multiple saves, for all NPCs I have tried.

I think something in DRL is preventing Sexout from setting Variable04: this is the condition that aborts Lust's lite tracker for me. Not too experienced with SexoutNG, but wouldn't this prevent any callbacks (regardless of mod) from registering NPCs as "in use"?

I'll do some more testing to see if I can further isolate the problem.

What is the bug exactly?  What is or is not happening that should or should not be precisely?  This mod does not alter Variable04 in any way.  It does cast the NG finish now spell, if you get caught.

Sexout Lust prints the "NPC is paused or invalid" message. Lust will then remove the orgasm tracker, preventing the sexual act from benefiting anyone as far as Lust is concerned. No climaxes, and the player will always end up super horny and Unsatisfied. It's not a devastating bug, but it is a little strange.

The reason why Lust aborts the tracker is because Variable04 is 0 at the time of its callback. I'm unsure why Var04 doesn't get set for DRL in particular -- NG has full control over the variable, and simply chooses not to set it. Var04 will eventually be set, but only after the callback has discarded the NPC as invalid.

Maybe there's something a little wonky with the Sexout call. I dunno.

Note: In the current version of Lust, the "paused or invalid" printC is commented out. For debugging, I restored it and printed out all other relevant conditions (# of pause tokens, Variable04, etc). Var04 is definitely the culprit.

Was sex interrupted in any way when this happens?  How many NPC were present?  This is the only thing I can think of that would clear Variable04 due to an NPC breaking up a sex act via the spell SexoutNGFinishNow.

Sorry, forgot to mention that: just basic 1-on-1 funtimes. Always in a private location, with no interruptions. I highly doubt interrupts would affect this anyways, since the tracker gives up as the act begins.

The versions of both mods are current, btw, and I tested on a fresh save file. Load order (wrt Sexout ESPs) is just Lust, Willow, DRL/DRT.

Seems the new call for SexoutNG brought back the scan stutter.  Confirmed there is no stutter with the old Variable04 method, just a heads up.  In any case, I think I've optimized the scanner and it's running smoothly again on my end.  Update in the OP.

EDIT: And..... now I'm having all sorts of random animation problems.  Could be NG related.

Hi! I've installed this mod, but I see no dialog related to this mod when I talk to NPCs. Also I don't see any NX masterlist in my new vegas game folder. I tried both with a TTW save and a Vanilla save, with no results.

If you could lend me hand it would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

I'm uncertain what you mean by "NX masterlist."  If you've just installed Sexout for the first time, you should probably install Sexout Lite or Sexout Sexkey to verify that Sexout has been installed correctly.

I have other sexout mods and they work fine. Actually i don't even know myself what i mean by NX masterlist , it's just that I saw that name in the first post nad thought it may be related. Then again, I have no idea what's going on. Here is my load order, see if you detect something suspicious:

Ah...the NX stuff is modder gobbledygook talk.  ;)   Pay no attention to the variables behind the curtain!

If you just started it, you probably saw that a Little Black Book was added and equipped.  Unequip it to start the mod.

EDIT:  If that isn't the case...well, um...I've been too busy working on my own mods to fire it up recently.  (SHHH!  Don't tell T!  :( )

Posted

Alas, nothing happens when I unequip the black book. On the other hand, when I equip it and talk to a NPC the control dialog appears. When I select it, a window pops out, telling me that NPC is not compatible. (Don't worry I won't tell anyone, as long as you help me, muahahaha).

Posted

Bleh....so perhaps I have it totally backwards.  Compatibility is based on sexual-orientation of the NPC, the differences in your karma, possibly other levels and...and...*sad face* I don't know what else.  You can eventually win over incompatible people.

Alas!  I was once the second most knowledgeable person in the thread!  I have brought dishonor both to myself and DRL.

BRB...sharpening tanto.
