[Wip] Intimacy Project

This new one worked for me. No pulse stutter or lag, really. I noticed I'm not having to chase my johns down for payment, but other than that, no real issues. This was a light test though, as I've deactivated a bunch of Sexout stuff hoping perhaps to find anotehr culprit. Will keep you updated as I activate other plugins.

 

I went through and gutted a bunch of stuff.  They should try and not pay now with the one in the OP.  I went everywhere.  Thorn, the sewers, Westside, North, all of the apartments, outside the gate on the way from Freeside to North (just as the residents were all going home in a group, got two of them), outside the gate from North on the way back to Freeside, the alleys by Dixon, Mick and Ralphs, the Kings school, Wrangler, all of those places soliciting, twice.  Ended up at Wrangler 4am for the third run of that place.  The mod is sort of out of control right now when it comes to soliciting once you get your promiscuity up.  They'll come at you again and again and again.  I'll put a cap on it soon.

 

Mucho apprecianado for all the help.  Really, you rock!

Now that's what I call testing haha. Right, I'm going to test the "new" new version in a bit, but the previous one worked fine, so I'm not expecting any hiccups. Better safe than sorry though!

 

And no problems, it is my pleasure, when mods like these work, its a win for every one!

People might want to be carefull with automatic save programs, I've never used one because I noticed I could screw up a game save if I quick saved during Sex animations.

 

Yeah CASM is well known to toss a wrench in the works with many mods.  I've only had it happen once recently, before this recent update.  It both saved the game, and ctd.  I grabbed that anti-crash dll and installed it.  We'll see if it helps.

Updated.  Let's see if you can work yourselves out of a job.

 

- added regulars dialogue.

- regulars always pay.

- regulars always tip.

- intimate NPC regulars can fall for you.

- regulars will solicit automatically 1/gameday when:

a. it's after noon.

b. you look easy-prostitute.

c. you're nearby.

 

Got something crazy planned for the Mormon Fort.  Messing with it next, then back to relationships.

CASM shouldn't break your game if it saves during a sex animation.

I have CASM running so that it saves my game every 5 minutes. (Been running NVAC for a while now though and it has all but obliterated any kind of crashes. So am going to up my interval I think.)

Anyway point being (lol) I've resumed my game many many times to a point where CASM had saved for me mid-sex. Never had any problems with it, ever.

 

People might want to be carefull with automatic save programs, I've never used one because I noticed I could screw up a game save if I quick saved during Sex animations.

CASM shouldn't break your game if it saves during a sex animation.

I too never have a problem with it saving mid-sex.  But I do almost always have a problem loading and playing that mid-sex save.  Which is why I always delete them.

NOTE:  None of what follows applies to playtesting DRL, so don't think that I'm adding issues to the list.

 

I use CASM because using Save on Travel/Rest/Wait can (and has for me) cause problems.  Before relying on CASM, I could not remember to save often enough and would lose 30+ minutes of game play.

 

IIRC, if I pick up from a mid-sex save, I get knocked out and the effect doesn't wear off, so I have to revive and disable/enable controls in the console.  Things may or may not persist in being a bit off after that, and loading a previous save from there does nothing because the damage seems to have been done until you exit out of the game and load back in with a not in the act save.

Dittos here.  Though I did get freezes on dates (twice, several verisons apart), the game just froze without saving and it took a three finger salute to remedy.  The other night was the first time I could actually attribute it to CASM (it saved the game then CTDd).  It only happened once though and I couldn't recreate it on demand so I'm still using it.

Haven't made it through a date to a nightcap, but for eating and hanging out and having a drink, it's been behaving very nicely with CASM.

 

One oddity:  I know it was during "Eat Lunch" at least one time (and probably the first time as well, but I thought that might have been a fluke).  He got stuck in the eating package.  When I changed cells, he appeared behind me, eating lunch in an invisible chair.  EVP didn't work.  ResetAI did.

 

Funny Story:  Since I've been testing and resolving bugs in my own mod, I've decided to have a some fun and actually *play the game* to experience the quest mods that I've semi-recently downloaded.  Charon and I go to Helios One.  After almost succumbing to a fiery doom, I wander around looting the place and enjoying not being shot at.  But since I'm still testing for DRL, I should probably do some more of that.  There's a chair in the room.  Cool.  That means that 'Hang Out' will probably work nicely.  Proceed to hang out.  Does he sit in the chair?  No.  He saunters out of the room and down the hall until he opens a door where there's another robot waiting for us.  We kill the robot, and then he decides to "Small Talk."  At least he's being true to form.  Not a bug.  Just a poor environment date decision on my part.  ; )

Eating shouldn't cause them to follow.  Was it a companion you had set on follow?  Also, when eating/drinking know that they will continue to eat or drink 1 cycle beyond the package ending.  I set the follow timer way up in this last version (1800 seconds), I'm wondering if I missed clearing it someplace?

Updated!  I haven't completely tested the prostitution questification (I got to Street Walker but didn't complete it).  If anyone finds anything, let me know.  I may add some perks to go along with it later.  I also haven't tested the date reminder yet.  Let me know if it's broken or too annoying.

I'm not sure how long a cycle is, but I'm guessing that it's not 10-20 in game minutes.  I think that was an Eat Lunch.  Tried Hang Out later.  Walks a long way to a chair, I guess I got in his way when he Small Talked or something, then he wanders to the next guy's house to help tend the crops, gets tired of doing that, so he walks back to the chair at the other house.  I think I only got one Small Talk instance in both encounters.  I don't remember how many there are supposed to be.

Yeah I still have to work on companions.  I'll probably have to temp set them to wait or something.  Also, you can't substitute companion follow for this mods follow.  Some of this mods dialogue depends on the NPC being in this mods follow state.  What would you prefer happen in this situation?

 

You'll know a cycle.  He'll put away the food/beverage at the end of every anim cycle, then if the package is still running he'll pull it out again and repeat.  Definitely not 10 min.

 

3 times a day I think for small talk during activities.

More Updatery!  Whore quest added.  This is mainly a quest to keep track of your progress as a prostitute.

 

Notes:

- completing the quest is NOT required.

- call it quits at any stage of the quest.

- optionally remain at the current quest stage, and retain any current regular clients.

- option to change your identity and put whoring behind you as character history.

 

How To Advance:

- create more regular clients.

 

How To Remain At Current Stage:

- do not create any new regular clients.

 

How To Get Demoted:

- piss off your regular clients.

 

Profession Options:

- Neighborhood Slut

- Street Walker

- Bar Girl

- Working Girl

- Professional Escort

- High Class Whore

- Wasteland Madam

- Bride Of The Wastes

Just a quick TLDR.  I've updated the TODO list and put some order into it.  Any help is always appreciated.

 

As of right now, the prostitution stuff is more or less on autopilot barring any feeedback.  I would really prefer to work on the more difficult things first.

 

Gifts: I want gifts to be occasional only.  I also want to use this gifting mechanism later on to gift clothing for NPCs to wear for certain activities.

 

Questions: What items should be used as gifts, other than Teddy Bears, clothing, food, beverages?  How often, and under what circumstances should gifts be given, other than what I have planned (which is to give outfits for one another to wear)?  I haven't really looked very hard for items.  Where are the flowers?  Do I need to create ties and socks so there are gifts to give? lol

When you say that any help is appreciate, are you talking about just general feedback or tossing out ideas about how mechanisms should work or about building some mod thing that's independent (or independent enough) so that it doesn't modify what you've already done (hence being modular...mwaha!) and then allowing you to build it in?

 

Gifts:  Definitely a rare thing.  When the idea came to mind, the complicated version was to have gifts be separated into small everyday gifts (food, drink) and then once a week or so larger or special gifts (clothing, teddy bears, etc.).  While clothing and misc junk are on different ends of the value spectrum, bringing someone a teddy bear every day seems a bit to clingy or something to me.  And again, the larger items improve some disposition.  Food or drink could also be tied to you asking someone out on a date or the eating a meal options, and then you'd have to have at least one food and one drink item in your inventory to give them or they'd get pissed (lowered disposition/trust/whatever) and/or possibly end the date.

 

Other gift ideas:  Pre-War Books, Toy Cars, Nuka Truck (don't remember if you can collect these or not).  I'll try to think of more or see what I come across in game.  There could be a recipe for making a set of tools (wrench, hammer, 2 wonderglue, paint can, turpentine, lunchbox (or optionally allow vendors to sell toolboxes), and whatever else I've left out).

 

And nothing says "I love you" like a paperweight.  Oh...wait...

 

In my mind, I'm convinced that making flowers into a melee weapon like a club and forcing an equip is possible.  I don't know if flowers are in containers or free form in the GECK.  They should be expensive (due to rarity), and a vendor should be located in the Strip.  I could try to make this happen because apparently I never want to work on my own mods.  I won't personally alter meshes because I went into Blender once and then slowly backed away.  I'm also not a visual artist.  : P

 

And what I can tell you is that I'm totally not looking through modder resources to find other possible gifts that the author has given people permission to use.  Definitely not.  And definitely not obsessed with the success of this mod.

 

Another complicated activity idea:  Gambling (on the strip or with Caravan).  Granted, not all NPCs play Caravan by default.  I don't know if you could trigger a generic game of it or not.  There could be an option "Here.  I've got a spare deck that you can use." and then have options of giving them a decent deck like yours or a shitty deck to up your chances of winning because....Best 2 out of 3 or best 3 out of 5.  If you win, you get to decide something that the NPC has to do.  If they win, they get to choose what you have to do.  There's also the possibility of strip whatever with each loss, which could possibly get you kicked out of a place in public or just cause a scene.  With strip <game>, there's obviously the chance that you wouldn't make it to 2 out of 3, etc. because sex.

I admit my laziness is sometimes a driving force behind my decisions.  To my thinking food and beverages are covered in the eat/drink activities.  Pre-War books I hadn't considered, but they make perfect sense, good catch.  Perhaps it isn't a matter of what the gift is, but why you're giving it?  Are you giving it for some special occasion?  Are you giving it to 'make nice' after a falling out?  I agree that it should be an event, as opposed to just another option to manipulate the NPCs stats.  Then there is the consideration of what the NPC will give to the PC?

 

I have several in game items still planned.  A 'Boom Box' used to activate dancing.  A rolling pin used to activate cooking, maybe?  And a broom used to activate cleaning.  If the gift item could be centralized into one thing like these others, then I would consider making gift items.

 

I had at one time considered 'Strip' caravan.  Playing Caravan is one of my very favorite things to do in the game.  I gave up on that idea because I couldn't imagine how it would work mechanically speaking.  It wouldn't make sense I don't think until we had more individualized articles of clothing.

How would these be activated outside of a player home?  Do all courtable NPCs have homes?

 

The items would just play an animation.

 

I'm sure some of them don't have a home.  Unfortunately I can't field them all, I'll need feedback to sort them out if they're unreasonable for intimacy.  So the lists are kind of WIP still.
