Spent the day tooling around in Freeside.  Did a lot of experimentation.  Hope I didn't break anything.  Update in the OP.

 

Did you get any lag? What other Sexout mods did you play alongside it?

I haven't experienced it yet today.  But that doesn't mean it isn't there.  In Freeside I've only seen it yesterday inside the Wrangler.  I sometimes get the same thing when on a date and I choose affection/flirt, and the date is sitting down.  lol I have to laugh because I could be seeing a pattern where there isn't one when it comes to that part.  It's very flip a coin.  Funny thing is I leave the area and it goes away instantly.  Leaving the Wrangler into the street went right back to normal.  Same with the date thing.  Leave the area and it disappears.

I am using the updated NVSE and extender though.  Don't know if that means anything.

Hmmn, I got some very strange results. Started off in "Freeside" where Dixon and that lot hang out. Nothing, everything went smoothly. Only, I didn't get a single proposition. I changed my outfit from the last time to a "Sexy Nightwear" and tagged it as "Looks like a prostitute" in SCE, though unlike the other one, I tagged this one as Sexy and not slutty. Got lots of flirts, dinner requests, more flirts and so on, but no solicitations.

 

Then I changed cells to the one in Freeside where the Atomic Wrangler is, and bam, my FPS went from 40 to 6. No stutter, just really bad lag. Tried changing cells to the Van Graff shop - and even there I got 6, which is weird, because indoors I usually get like 100+ FPS. Went back out, same thing. Went to the Atomic Wrangler, same thing. And now the trippy part - returned to the Freeside cell with Dixon and all that - bam, back to 50 FPS, but now with stutter. 

 

 

Can't say I've quite seen anything like it! This was with version 29 by the way. And yes, I have NVSE 4.2 beta and NVSE Extender 12 beta2. 

 

Going to try some different things and see what happens.

 

EDIT: Before I quit last time, I saved in the "laggy" Atomic Wrangler. Reloaded now, and got no lag or stutter whatsoever. Still no propositions wearing Sexy Nightwar flagged as prostitute. Talked to James Garret, wore his outfit, got propositioned once. Seems like the odds of getting propositioned in the new version have fallen a little, as I didn't get proposioned again at all, even outside. Also, the "follow player" and "proposition" tokens don't seem to survive saves, as I had to reload and the john that was following me wouldn't have the "continue solicitation" dialogue. I was stuck and had to manually delete the tokens to "reset" it.

 

Went outside, started getting stutter, but no lag this time, not even across 3 cells.

You have to look like a prostitute after 7pm, unless they've been patrons before, then they won't care.  You have to re-dress also if you set things explicitly in clothing eval before they'll take effect.  If you've recently been shunned, no one will solicit you for 30/60 min game time I can't remember which (on another box now).

 

You're a trooper.  I only tested over by dixon, the wrangler, and the street out front of the kings.  I never went into Van-Graff though I do get solicited by the van graff doorman outside almost every time I go over there.

 

Tomorrow I'll do some jumping around and see if I can break it.  What's your total sexual encounters?  And what's you're appeal strength in the console with what you're wearing?  As you get more the scanner opens up to more NPCs in the area.  I wonder if that has something to do with it.  I should probably stop guessing or I'm just going to cause more problems.

 

I'll look into the tokens too.

When you mean redress, do you mean put on desired clothing, open eval, tick boxes, then  change into something else and then put it back on, or something else? Because so far I've just been putting stuff on, ticking the box and going from there. NPC appeal was 9, and something else was 20. Can't remember what now. As for Sexual Encounters, I don't know, probably not a lot, because I started from a "clean" save this time.

They're presets really.  I just apply them as a stack.  So let's say you set an outfit to sexy and pretty and exposed this or that, and short skirt, and slutty, and prostitute on top of that.  They all stack.  I think so far the red corset has the most boxes checked by default is why it get's up there.  Dirty/grimy clothes lower appeal on the other side of the coin, they too stack, but I haven't seen an outfit that applies more than one at a time.

lol  Use the player room.  It's private.  That's why he said see Francine about a room as a hint.  Though that's just fluff really as long as you can get into the room you're good to go.  You don't actually have to rent it unless you want to sleep there.

 

Also they don't take a cut of your profits sort of like the NCR, and you can work for the Kings at the same time (though getting hired there clears the other gangs).  Still thinking how I'm going to do Gommorah.

 

EDIT: Another thing, good aligned patrons always pay, you never have to chase them.  Though there's a glitch with SmallerTalk if you hit them just before they leave the room and they exit, and then you exit the room, sex starts when they complete their smallertalk approach (haven't figured it out yet).  So take them away from the door if you want to catch them before they exit the room.

Ah that was you! I wasn't sure, I was like... wait, was this room always a separate cell?  I just assumed when he said see Francine that he meant the "vanilla" room.

 

Also, I've tested everything else (Sexout, SCR, Slavery, Pregnancy, Breeder, Drugs, STD's, etc) and I don't get any lag or stutter. Its definitely something on this end. Haven't ran into that bug yet (the payment one).

 

Anyway, I'll keep you posted as I experiment.

I remember people reporting that one of the Damaged combat armor meshes caused a lot of lag itself, perhaps there's a similar issue with a prostitution outfit?

I don't think it's any of that stuff.  I really do think it is this mod.  I have a lot of re-writes planned already for it.  As I've moved along there are a few things I've noted that I could be doing differently (better), but they were so embedded in the current method I just added a reminder to my notes and chalked them up for 'I'll get to that later'.  It probably doesn't help that I've been too lazy to add in more (read proper) debugging.

 

I may start another stripped down test version alongside the one currently in the OP.  Then I could rebuild the test case in increments until the hitch reveals itself.  I wish someone else would chime in and say 'I get it too'.  It would really help to at least get a second confirmation.  What's weird is I experience it more often during dates with intimate NPCs than I do with solicitation (when we're alone), and you experience the same thing more often when soliciting.  So something tells me it's not population related (but don't take my word for it just yet).

 

I'm going to stop adding stuff for a minute and spend the day just trying to recreate the problem.  Just in case: I'm using the 4GB launcher and stutter remover.  Though I think installed them unnecessarily when I was straightening out the scanner.  Stay tuned.

T:  I'm only testing dating, not soliciting.  Remember when I asked about CASM working?  That's because I was having freezes (not stutter/not crashes) either on dates or during an approach or something like that.  Does this help you feel less crazy?

 

I had assumed that it was just me as that I have a TOTAL of 2 GB of RAM on my system (although I do have the game set to use hard drive caching if it needs to).  I try to run everything performance low.  I've got stutter fix and anti-crash dlls installed.

I suppose I could try dating too and see what happens. For the record, I'm using the 4gb launcher and have the stutter remover, nvac and some other stuff. 

 

@ nyaalich: Even with 2gb memory, the "stutter" is fairly conspicuous, you'll know it when you get it. It also happens at precisely timed intervals, so its not "random" like most stutter. I used to have 2gb and had the same problem, though without the affected plugins, it would work fine. I'd still get "stutter", only normal game stutter.

 

In any case, you could try the propositioning and see if it gives you anything?

I'm onto something stand by.  Will post a test case shortly to try.  I've been able to recreate it while soliciting.

OK here's the skinny.  First off I switched to pop casinos full version.  I get low FPS inside the Wrangler with or without my mod (the spike upon entering for the first time is probably a little worse with this mod enabled).  Other than that I was getting the pulse stutter under almost the exact same conditions as described by CK.  Same zone to zone changes, everything.

 

I've only done a little testing with this one and some of the spell durations are toned down, so some dialogue may be broken if a spell times out too soon.  I've completely gutted the promiscuity limits in this one and am using a completely different method.  The attached test esp will automatically set your promiscuity to 20 (representing 20 times total having sex).  Which is the main problem I'll have to iron out if this one works better.  It will mean you'll really need to work up a rep before anyone will solicit you.  I tried it at first as a virgin and no one would would even look at me. lol

 

Let me know if this does anything?

 

EDIT: Couldn't get it to pulse stutter with this one.  Fixed a few things with named NPCs and solicitation (you shouldn't get stuck without payment dialogue anymore).  Tweaked spell durations.  Update moved to the OP.

T:  I am personally having problems when CASM saves during a date, so I took a look at CASM and decided that I could add in some checks to delay the save.  However, for the most part, it seems like all tokens are given to the NPCs (locket, ring, bracelet being exceptions).  Is this right, or am I missing something?  And it looks like you're using Sexout's scanner to build your own list of nearby NPCs (excluding ppl already tracked, creatures, etc.)?  I'm trying to figure out how I could check for that, and it seems like if the only DRL trackers are going to the NPCs, it would have to scan all nearby NPCs for one of the tokens.

What happens when it saves?  You mean when you load saves that it made during a date?  You're trying to check for what exaclty, I'm confused?

 

Let me take a guess.  Are dates not ending as they should, but the NPC gets stuck in them on game reloads?

 

EDIT: I think I know what you're asking after thinking about it for a minute.  The end of the date packages are processed both by the tracker and the activity token depending upon whether or not they are able to have a tracker.  Let me know what's going wrong exactly and I'll work on it.

No.  It's DURING a date when it tries to save, the game freezes and I have to kill it.  The odd thing is that the last two times that happened (after a reinstall of CASM), it actually did complete the save, and I was able to load it.  The date token was cleared successfully at the beginning of the load.

 

I was just trying to think of a way to modify CASM's scripts so that it checks to make sure that a date or sex isn't going on when it tries to save so it will just wait, kind of like how it waits until you're out of dialogue.

Did notice my johns stopped following me rather quickly though (compared to previous versions) - like, they stopped, but when I spoke to them, I still had the "continue solicitation" option. The third time, I was actually paid right after the act automatically and didn't have to go after him. I think he was an NCR Squatter - was it because he was aligned good? Or a glitch? Didn't get any lag or stutter.

 

Then I exited the North Gate, near North Vegas. There are thee Kings gangs member there, any my FPS plummeted to 6-7. Went into North Vegas, same. Went into that apartment building in North Vegas, same. Noticed nobody was soliciting me. In fact, the console was totally silent except for Spunk. Returned to Freeside - FPS back to 40 now, but with stutter. Went into the Freeside bit with the Atomic Wrangler, dropped back to 6-7, with Stutter. Returned to the other Freeside, back to 40 with worse stutter...

Ah I see.  Thanks for reporting that.  I still hadn't figured out what was causing that but now I know.  Mine did that occasionally but I had chalked it up to a fluke because I couldn't reproduce it.  CASM is a well known pita.  I wouldn't put yourself out with CASM.  I'll probably just have to buildref it in and make sure it doesn't go off when dating somehow.

Poop.  I tested all over Freeside yesterday without a single stutter.  Though Dixon crashes the game 50/50 during sex (still haven't figured that out).  I never made it up to North or Westside.  Back to the chain gain I guess.

OK I can no longer recreate the pulse stutter.  But since we know it's classic list filling up behavior, we might as well start there.  I've disabled all of the dynamic list building in this one.  Try moving from place to place normally first, and if it doesn't stutter, THEN try soliciting.  Maybe we can narrow it down to soliciting.

 

@nyaallich  I think I know how to remedy the CASM problem.  Can you tell me when it freezes exactly?  During date follow?  During eating?  In between date start and activity start?  I think you're getting it more often because you're using a companion and I'm not.

 

EDIT: Re-uploaded.  Fixed the payment trigger timing out too soon causing money up front not to work.

 

EDIT EDIT: Moved to OP.  I couldn't get this one to pulse stutter while soliciting.  Still get the usual frame drop in Wrangler due to popcasinos.  I did find a slew of little bugs here and there which I tried to clean up.  Crossing my fingers.

This new one worked for me. No pulse stutter or lag, really. I noticed I'm not having to chase my johns down for payment, but other than that, no real issues. This was a light test though, as I've deactivated a bunch of Sexout stuff hoping perhaps to find anotehr culprit. Will keep you updated as I activate other plugins.
