Would there ever be the possibility of this becoming a non-replacer at some point? I love the mod but sadly, this mod and Calcifire's portraits cannot coexist.

Actually making a non-replacing version of the mod would probably be pretty easy. I'll get working on it soon and have it posted in a few days. I've already limited the replacement wherever possible, so all playable species are added in without replacement. I remove vanilla species and categories by overwriting 00_portrait_categories and 00_portrait_sets with blank files, so if you want to restore base game portraits you just need to delete those two files from the VF mod.

My recommendation is to use something like irony mod manager's conflict patch creator if you wanna use this mod and calcifire's together, especially if you use Calcifire's director's cut. Lot of stuff will overlap, like event portraits. Making conflict patch yourself allows you to pick what you see from either mods, as well as solve this overlap issue.

Hey I have a problem where none of the portaits are even showing. It's like the mod isn't even there. I have it imported into the mod folder on stellaris and tried launching the game with just the framework and the VF(VF being ontop of framework) None of the images show, and the vanilia portraits are still there.

If the VF portraits aren't present and the base game portraits are, then the mod is not being loaded correctly for some reason. Are you sure that you have the mods enabled in your playset, and that you're using the playset containing them?

If they are and it still doesn't work, check the .mod file for Vanilla Framework (it opens with any text editor such as notepad) and verify that the path is set to "mod/Vanilla Framework". The .mod file is used to tell the launcher that the mod is installed and the path tells the launcher where to find it, so if VF is installed in the mod directory then "mod/Vanilla Framework" would be the value you want for it.

If the .mod file looks good, check which version of VF you have downloaded, as the legacy 2.31 version of VF is meant for pre-3.12 stellaris and will not work on the current version of the game.

Just finished work on the non-replacer, it will be up soon. There will also be a new section on the page explaining the alternate versions of VF, I recommend you read the non-replacer description so you know what to expect.

So they seem fine. I went into the notebook for the Vanilla framework and its path was as you described.  I'm also using VF portaits and Vanilia framework non-replacer. I have them both installed and am also using irony mod manager for my modding.  No mods appear when I try through the game launcher.  image.png.bb48fcbbc7066b46d5c787e8a5a3f657.png

Are other mods working for you fine or does this seem to be a VF problem? Because if you can't get other mods to work either then this is not a Vanilla Framework specific problem and you could probably find better support elsewhere.

So I figured it out. So when I download the mods, the folder for the Vanilia framework is labeled NR.24.B or 2.42. The problem was the .mod path is Mod/vanilla framework. But since it's in another folder the pathway is different.  I just took the Vanilia framework folder from inside NR.24.B *leaving NR empty) and that fixed it. It's probably just a me problem since the mod is labeled right for other people upon download.

I see now. You're actually supposed to put the CONTENTS of NR 2.4b in the mod folder, not the NR 2.4b folder itself.

Hm odd. Well regardless it works as intended now. On an unrelated note, any plans on adding more portraits to the species or anything like that? i'd be down to help. At least with the gathering and converting to the proper image type and size if needed.

We already have an active image-gatherer, but more contributions are always accepted! There are some quality control guidelines and I can reject images that do not meet our standards, such as images that contain extreme fetishes, images that do not fit the theme of the species, blurry or distorted images, and images that simply aren't sexual enough to be put into a porn mod. Image files must be 500x320 and (optionally, as I can convert to the right format when inspecting them) dds format with mipmap. I'll always accept expansions of existing species, but any new species are going to need my approval and at least 5 images of each gender. If you're interested in image contributions, send me a message on Loverslab and we can coordinate from there.

That's me! If you plan to join with collecting images I would not complain.

We have a new member on the VF team now: Xenodragon54 has already started gathering more images for existing species such as 06Avi.

Also, I had some stuff come up lately so I didn't have much time to work on the next update. My new goal is to have it released a week from now.

I offered these images to Mugginnato, before their hiatus and thought I'd put them here if anyone wants to crop and use them. They are raw images but they have a variety of states and some even have futanari variants. Please note these are from WH40K and some may be repeats of images already in the mod but I'd thought I'd offer them just incase there's any interest.

Will you be adding more femboy pics?

Depends on what you mean, if you mean in general if there will be more Femboy pictures in the new Species, yes.

But if you mean a "Femboy" Species that's a different story. It's harder to do as we need to get images for Female, Male and Futa of each new species so to have a "Femboy" Species we would need to change it to something that that allow us to have the ability to fill out each gender.

Like MalikilsHere said, we won't be specifically adding more femboys, but some of the male portraits added in the future will happen to be femboys.

Hurray, that's enough too "there will be more Femboy pictures in the new Species, yes"

I guess while we're on the topic of new Species, the next three I plan to collect images for are Sheep(Mammalian), Warframes(Arthropods), and Symbiotes(Necroids). I already have some of the Warframe pictures picked out and just as a warning, there will be some Warframes missing. I'm trying to get at least one of each Warframe but some of them just don't have horny enough pictures for them but I am keeping a list of ones I miss so I can look for new pictures when a new Warframe gets released.

i really want the xenomorph portraits to be added to the mod at somepoint from the lewd galaxy mod is there a simple guide to just do it my self?

There is already Xenomorphs in the mod but only the Prethoryn Scourge uses it, ModderWhoModsThings could just add it to the existing portraits like they did the event portraits.
Until then you could try to use the Stellaris Portrait File Generator that Modder made to add new files or I think that someone made another file generator but I can't find it(too lazy).

Actually there's a simpler method. As the xenomorph's are already setup as a full species in the portrait file it's as easy as adding "VFswarm" to one of the portrait_sets, I added them to the artthopoids set personally. Here's the file I modded and you can just do a replacement of the file in VF Continued. If ModderWhoModsThings has a issue with posting modded files I'll remove it when requested.

The mod is open source and everyone is free (and encouraged) to make and publish any changes they want. Modded files may be posted in this thread as long as there is a clear description of what changes have been made.

The best way to add portraits to this mod is to use my Stellaris Portrait File Generator tool as MalikilsHere mentioned, as it is designed to be able to easily modify existing files. You will need to download the VF kit, open the species file you want to modify in the Species File Maker, add the species to the file and save, then load that modified species file into the Portrait File Generator along with the vf2.1b template to generate a new portrait file. Then you must replace the old portrait file in your VF mod with the new one you just created. The process may seem a but convoluted at first but when you learn how portrait mods work it's actually pretty streamlined.

I would recommend waiting a few days before making any changes though, because soon I will finish a species expansion update where the VFswarm (xenomorph) species will get more portraits and be made playable from the Event Species category as an arthropoid. It would be best to wait for the new update, then add the portraits from lewd galaxy to the VFswarm species on the Event Bio species file, then create a portrait file from that and replace the 101_VF_Events.txt file under "Vanilla Framework/gfx/portraits/portraits/" with the newly created portrait file.
