[WIP] Skykids - Child races & other technical goodies - No more armor patcher! New CotS R2 Race!(6/22/15)

Okay, i'm fairly positive this it the incompatible program:  ReProccer.esp  http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/28467/?tab=1&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D28467%26preview%3D&pUp=1

When i run SUM with this and Skykids enabled, it runs fine, but the game ctd's on load.  Adding it to Skykids's blocklist.txt and running SUM, game loads fine.

Here's the debug file.

EDIT: As an aside, thanks for your patience with my lack of mod troubleshooting skills.  I know i've been bouncing all over the place trying to pin this down.

Okay, It cant be reproccer on its own, as myself as well as several others run it without incident. Are you sure your version of reproccer is up to date? Have you tried it without the IA7 patches, or with the IA7 patches and without the armor patcher? Try disabling everything in your load order that isn't explicitly required for the armor patcher and reproccer and see if it crashes on you then.

Unfortunately nothing sticks out in your armor patcher debug log as erroring, can you post your reproccer log as well first before proceeding with any more testing?

Hello again,

I tried to use SkyKids again with a new Skyrim mod set and I am still getting (Record Lengths are off) during custom patch export.

Attached is Debug Overview and Export text files. I hope you can help me with this!

The record lengths error is almost always caused by a malformed plugin. Open the patcher, go into the 'other settings' area, and enable debug logging, then rerun the patcher and post the 'trace.log' that it creates(you may have to rename it to a txt).

Try disabling/blocking 'AetherSuite.esp', see if that fixes it. If its still crashing after that, post your log files again.

Block/disable 'jackgapubdlc00.esp'. Really, if its still throwing that error just open the trace log and disable the last plugin file it lists and repeat. These errors are caused by malformed plugin files, which are broken in such a way that they still more or less work in the game/most editors, but cause skyproc to error when it encounters them(its rather strict about standards compliance). You could probably fix them once this is all said and done, but right now I'd focus on tracking them down so you can patch first.

I have determined that Dovabear.esp was causing the issue. This is from the Dovahbear Follower mod so I placed it in the block list. The mod works otherwise. Thanks!

On to the mod, (finally) I noticed a lack of hair choice on the Monli race. Is that intentional or is there an issue here?

Hello! I have been using Skrim Redone alongside this mod, but I was wondering if there was a way to have these races use the new race powers Skyrim Redone added/changed?

Hey en_ ,, is this alright to use along with SK NPC replacers or will it go screwing around with them, and if so, have any idea how bad? im sure it will at least a bit :/ i may have to just test it :/

I don't see anything that jumps out at me in terms of compatibility. Whatever loads last should end up taking priority.

I'd have to make a patch for it. I run SkyRe as well, so this is something I'd be interested in too, I'll get around it at some point...

So basically then, if loading that patch after the main SK NPC .esp's affects them too badly or at all, ill try with loading them right after and see what it does. Ill look into it later. And may I ask for a rough ETA, if you have one, on the next NPC replacer update, covering the males. I still see several realllllyy girls boys running around. Idk if i mentiond this previously or not, but the boy in Whiterun and one somewhere else, cant remember where, both are currently girls. At least in the face. lolol

Could it be done through the creation kit? I remember seeing something related to race powers in there somewhere.

Hello, by the travel I made through the pages of this topic, I understand this mod can get along with RCotS as long as you don't modify all children (meaning just get the races), Is that right?, if I download and install this mod's races will I be able to keep RCotS untouched?

Also, do this mod comes with eyebrows, hair, scars, eyes, etc.? I know for instance RCotS doesn't have scars at all.

Correct.

Also you are able to patch any addon hair/eye/scar/etc mod to be compatible with SK using the included(mostly automatic) patching scripts and provided guide(see the technical information section). Several mods already have premade official compatibility patches provided. As for scars, I believe I included all of the vanilla scars as well, if I missed them feel free to let me know and I'll see about adding them in.

Ok sweet  :) I'll try this mod right away!

I have some interesting things to report on hair selection.

With Race Menu (and Race, I do not need compatibility patches to select ApachiiSkyHair or Oblivion Hair Pack for child races. Activating the SK hair patches removes those hairs from selection from the child and vanilla races (and crashes the game sometimes).

The Monli and Drow Child races have no hair selection EXCEPT hairs from the Hairs Pack v2 for the Tera Elin Race, which is selectable for every race, though I think that is because those hairs are standalone.

You have something overriding the races, or your formlists, or your hair mods, or you messed with RC. That's a really weird problem you describe, which I've never heard of of encountered before, but it basically boils down to something conflicting with... any of the things mentioned above(or you installing the mod wrong).

Gonna need more detail than that, start with your load order.

Hi, thanks for this great mod but I'd like to make it compatible with resplendent racials package, Any Idea how ?

It would be faster for me to do it myself, link me to the mod in question and I'll see what I can do when I have some free time.

I will probably use this mod when I can use MO with it, but I hate manual downloads. Messy.

Since it is my understanding that you aren't modifying the faces currently, would it be very hard to use tk children on top of this?

Firstly, you can use it with MO, it just requires you to set it up as a package on your own(don't inquire to me as to the details, I'm a wrye user myself). Secondly, we do modify the faces so using TK children over top would be a no go(at least from the users end). If there is enough interest I might be able to be persuaded to make some sort of plugin for it...
