That's your problem. You can fool around on google and try to get it running as an administrator, or you could just move your skyrim install out of the program files directory, or disable UAC in control panel.

Posted

yes its installed where it should be , but what is the windows UAC ? i mean i have tried to run it as admin but when i right click on the".jar" i cannot select "run as..."

You generally don't want to have Skyrim or any other game installed in Program Files.

well i did move the install to get rid of the UAC and i run the sk armor patcher but when i click "pacth" it start to verify some mods then it close .. but when i search for the esp file there is a .esp.bak only !.... what is wrong with me ? did i do something wrong ?

Please attach and post the file located at 'skyrim\Data\SkyProc Patchers\SKArmorPatcher\SkyProcDebug\=--Debug Overview--=.txt'.

If you run 'boss gui.exe' it should ask you to track down the game. Alternatively you could install boss to 'skyrim\boss\' like I do, either or.

If you're going to move "installed" programs around then you're going to have to update your registry. My skyrim is in Programs86, via steam, and I have no issues, so I don't think your folder location is the problem. I'd say you haven't set things up correctly to start with.

He has UAC on, it does dumb things, that's why being in program files is an issue.

Wooop ! it finally worked ! :)

so here what i've done to make it work for me :

i moved the install directory somewhere else to get rid of the UAC as the Awesome "en_hawk" told me . ( C:/ Games ) instead of "Program Files"

then BOSS could'nt find the "skyrim.esm" , to simply solve this problem , i just had to run skyrim with the "Skyrim Launcher" not the "SKSE" and then "BOSS" finally find the "skyrim.esm"  thats all ! then i start the SK Armor launcher and patched to get the SK Armor.esp  :D

now i would like to thanks "en_hawk" for his help !! thank you !! thank you !! thank you !!

P.S : sorry for my bad English i'm French .

Just found a small issue and wasn't sure if anyone talked about it before.

I was having a little trouble with becoming a vampire, the better vampires mod, and race compatibility. long story short, everything worked, but I wasn't being tagged as the race "skmonlivampire" so I wasn't getting the quest tags.  I found a quick fix by using player.setrace skmonlirace vampire, and everything worked, or so I thought. first time I went to a 3rd person view, I glance at my face and noticed something was off. My cahr looked very different. I opened the racemenu and all of my sliders were gone. Seems there may be an incompatibility with the vampire subtype and racemenu, chargenextension and the ece patch might not cover it.

Of course, I did have to use the console to get there so there still might just be something wrong on my end, I tried to fix it another way but the console was the only thing that worked. Has anyone else experienced this?

edit: Just went into the races ini in the ece patch. saw skmonliracevampire in there, so no idea what is causing the conflict on my end.

okay i really hope this makes sense... Firstly i have a LOT of experience working with pre-made assets, vanilla skyrim, ect, but when it comes to using and MAKING assets from scratch im really confused as to the process. So let me do this step by step so hopefully it makes sense.

1.) im using MO, trying to keep a relatively clean Data folder.

2.) the mod this is for, i already made and it SO FAR only uses an .esp

3.) So after making it and testing, i moved it out of my data folder and packaged it to be installed through MO like any other DL'ed mod

4.) next step is to follow what was said above. Im assuming that since im running CK through MO that the files will be on my Overwrite.

5.) Okay so if im correct, to re-package it to be installed, i can just make a folder and emulate a/the folder path needed, how it would look in skyrim's data folder, re-archive it and install and it should work fine?

(i think already that all above already makes sense, i just want verification)

6.) now, as for the renaming of the textures path.. if i just put in the path textures/gsnfjsrgt/sbhbegkd.. whatever, to where im GOING to place the textures, they WONT display in nifskope YET if i do exactly what ive said so far, UNLESS i make my folder structure where it will be once installed and nifskope is set up correctly. Right?

I hope this makes sense, im just looking for clarification on the best/accepted way to do this.

one other thing is that it exports a head .nif? where is it specified in CK for THAT npc to use THAT mesh?? O.o

EDIT: Dot worry too much about figuring out the above. I realize now, again, why i switched to MO :D soooo easy compared to every other way there is, once you get your set up up and running.

In NifScope you have to add the base path to textures in the settings. This has to be set to your data directory. Then NifScope will find and display your textures.

The mesh created by CK is placed in a path that includes the name of your plugin and the file is named with the Form ID of your character. That way, the game knows how to find the correct mesh. Just leave the path and filename as created by CK. You just have to put those files (including their path relative to the Data directory) in the same archive as your .esp and you'll be fine.

Well I only tested the races against the vanilla vampirism, which all worked properly(race changes included). You are absolutely sure you are using the version of RC that is linked in the install instructions, and have installed it with the correct options for better vampires?

I'd go do a test run on a different custom race(make sure it has properly configured RC support) and see if its giving you grief as well; SK is as properly configured for RC as you can get, which puts the matter a bit out of my hands in terms of BV compatibility.

Regarding the face changes, the vanilla child counterpart races should have the vanilla vampire face effects, whereas the monli/drow should not. I can investigate in more detail if you'd like, but I'm doing a skyrim reinstall presently and it isn't operable at the moment.

i'm back for the final review of this awesom mod !

so after playing it all day , i can say that this mod run smoothly and clean on my low-end laptop. ! actually it run better than the old mod i had ..

but i have a question :" my character has a male voice, (the adult one) and i was wondering if there was a custom kid boy voice to download for my character ?

i know that there is a voices mod for the followers but i did not find any for the dovahkid "...

i wish i was a modder like all of those awesomes peoples that make mods like this one , but maybe if we take the default dovahkiin voice and change the speech and tone like those apps where you can change your voice on your phone .

Thank you guys for this awesome mod you guys did an amazing work !!!!

Yeah, I read a lot of pages to make sure I was using the right mods, and the most updated version too.

Tried a few more custome races. Yours actually performed the best. On the better vampires webpage itself, it even says to use the setracevampire comand when using a custom race, so it seems to all be somewhat working more or less. https://sites.google.com/site/bettervampires/compatibility

Really, everything worked as it said, just not having the char gen extension support when my race was a vampire was it. Im going to backup the chargen extension files I have, mess around with them, and see if maybe I can find a fix, as that really seems to be the only thing not working.

Also, I just did some tests for the other Skykids races. The chargen extension worked for most of the other skykids races being vampires just fine, mostly. The Monli and Drow vampire children didn't have extension support. The Argonian, Nord, Imperial, WoodElf, HighElf, Orc, and RedGuard vampire races worked just fine chargen extension support and all. And When I tried to open showrace menu with the Child Breton, Khajiit, or DarkElf vampires, the game crashed.

Well its sounding more and more like a BV problem vs something with my mod or RC. I'll admit the CGE issues you are experiencing are... odd. Your face should definitely not change when your race swaps, regardless of how the new race is setup.

I'll look into it in greater detail for you, once my new install is up and running. Thanks for letting me know.

So, I turned off BV as a test. Turns out using the console with it and custom races is pretty much the expected course. Without BV I was turned into a vampire as the Monli race just fine. Thing is, I still didnt have CGE support as a vampire. I am running a lot of mods so it still might just be me, don't really have the time to turn them all off one by one to check if its a conflict on my part. Someone else might want to check if this a reoccuring thing, or just for me.

I've followed all the instructions on the main page. Im using all the correct cosmetic and compatibiloity patches, and the armor patcher is working just fine for me. So other than this vampire think Skykids is working fine.

There are a couple for Rcots that work just fine.  They eventually go under femaleeventoned... so just change the folder name to maleeventoned and you're good.  They actually sound more like boy voices than girl voices to me.

So, small update. Its funny how the dumbest ideas always seem to be the ones that work.

After a while of messing around ingame, I noticed in racemenu that after I used player.setrace, the race wasn't listed as Monli, it was "PlayerRace". I wasn't sure if this was normal after using that command, or even if there was a way to fix that. So I was tired and frustrated, and I thought why the hell not. I went to the CGE folder, and added Playerrace and PlayerraceVampire with the tags to the races ini in the monli folder. Loaded up my game, and sure enough it worked for some dumb reason.

Now I know this isn't any sort of real fix, but it worked.

Anyways, I decided to test some things out. I made a test profile, pretty barebones, almost no mods at all. I tired both with BV and vanilla vampires. Both times becoming infected and being a vampire did not allow the use of CGE. I checked racemenu, and again even without the console, becoming a vampire by infection, or console changed race in racemenu to PlayerRace, and adding that to the races ini fixed it. I decided to keep testing, I did a pure vanilla char, no mods, nothing. became infected, sure enough, after becoming a vampire in racemenu, race was set as PlayerRace. Seems that just how skyrim was coded.

Just want to make a point that all the vanilla races worked with CGE even with the races as "PlayerRace" in race menu. Might be something to look into.

Like I said, I'll look into it in greater detail once my new install is up and running. For now I'd suggest simply not fiddling with your characters appearance post creation(or at least not while as a vampire perhaps?).

Oh, the reason I was messing around with racemenu after becoming a vampire, was the appearence changes as soon as I become a vampire. Thats what got me started down this whole line. I was a vmpire, but my char looked terrible. (Try having a char you spent quite a lot of time on making the appearence, then turn off CGE, the results are not pretty.)

Anyways, like I said, I found my quick fix, and it works, that post was mostly for your information. Let you see what was happening in my game with a few varitables, and to see if you get similar results. If not, no worries, if so, something to look into.

Had a friend do some poking around, the monli does have vampire face morphs enabled despite what I remember, just an FYI as that could be a potential factor.
