No way around it, sorry! I made sure to get all the big changes and such done so that this would be the only update with this requirement, so it's pretty much the only time this is gonna happen. (Unless several years from now I decide to turn it into "Ultimate Waifu Cards" or something lol)

 

For now you can always finish your playthrough with the old version and play v3 at a later point - it's definitely better experienced starting fresh anyway. (Congrats btw on getting down to the last 5 cards!)

Cool! I never bothered messing with leveled lists. Currently I play Lorerim which has crazy amount of mods. Do you think I should make a merge-patch for leveled lists, or this mod should work without anything like that?

The mod uses leveled list injection, so it works right out of the box alongside any other mod that edits or adds things to loot lists. The cards are also primarily additive to basically be an infrequent, decently balanced addition to vanilla/modded loot. For reference, I also play a sizable load order with LoTD and other loot-altering things.

 

But yeah, in short, no need to do anything else!

I ended up spotting some small issues that needed fixing so I fixed them, sorry for the hassle!

 

- Fixed Desert #8 having the wrong art

- Fixed a floating candle in the display hall

- Noble Trader now has her merchant faction so she can trade again

 

I just updated the main file with the fix, but here's a quick patch as well for those already playing. Overwrite and you're good to go.

Just discovered this today and love the mod, thanks!

I can't get the Gachas to work if I have more than one of a premium in my inventory; when I click on them, I just get the message, "You cannot equip this item".

If I drop the pile and pick them up one at a time, they seem to work as expected.

Since you can buy them in bunches, this solution was not obvious to me.

If this has to work like this, you might like to document it.

Anyway, thanks for your great work--much appreciated.

Thought I already had this fixed but I guess I was wrong. Thankfully since you brought it back to my attention I did a lot more digging and finally learned exactly what is making that happen. I have a solution in mind for how to re-implement them so they work 100% of the time and I'll try to have it out as soon as possible. I actually had another small content update mostly done, so I'll basically be tossing this into it.

 

For the meantime, the dropping method is the way to go and thanks for your patience! Glad you're enjoying the mod regardless.

Hey so you know you probably don't have to require a NEW game, but you will require a clean save.

 

1: Inform your users they need to make a clean save.

 

2: Be in a single cell alone  ( that is NOT tied to the mod ) with no other NPCs or followers. Save the game. Shut the game down.

 

3: Uninstall your mod. Load the game. Get message mod is missing. Load.

 

4: Wait for everything to load. Make sure there is nothing still loading in the background. Make a new save.

 

5: CLEAN the save. I personally use ReSaver ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/5031/ ) .

 

6: LOAD the save. Wait for everything again to finish loading. SAVE as a new save.

 

7: feel free to have users load your new mod. It will be like they just installed it. Myself personally I will probably make a note before I go through these steps of what cards I actually already had and then just use additem menu to give myself back those cards, so that it was like there was never anything lost in the first place.

Just released 3.1! Overall aiming to polish up v3 a bit. Here's the changelog copy-pasted, please take note of the gacha-related stuff in particular, if you experienced any issues opening them before.

A bit of new content, gacha ""fix""/rework, rebalancing + art update!

 

Fine to update mid-game if you're playing v3. Might want to wait a few in-game days for everything to catch up, and just to be extra safe make sure you're not standing in a mod-related cell.

 

***If you have any stacks of "dud" gachas from the previous version in your inventory, drop them on the ground one at a time and pick them up again to fix them. If one last gacha appears to be exploitable (doesn't go away) then leave it there for gachas to continue working normally.

 

- The Ethereal Trader is now available to trade with in the Portal Room!

 

- Gachas reworked
-- They now open the instant you buy/loot them again, like in past versions
-- New types of gachas added that give different amounts of cards, along with special rarity gachas, and now gachas indicate how many cards they give
-- They now appear much less often at misc merchants - if you want to buy lots of gachas you can still unlock the portal room and buy plenty from the ethereal trader!

 

- Further upgraded art for 9 old cards. Most likely the absolute last art change.

- Portal room key now costs 175 dust instead of 200

- Added a spidery section to Mystic Caves to make it feel more complete, also re-balanced the boss/boss room so he can't be cheesed quite as easily

- Made creature loot less generous, and made it so gachas no longer have the chance to appear as loot for players below level 10

- Stopped cards from appearing in household containers

- Misc fixes including the in-between stuff I released earlier

Seems to be working fine now, *EXCEPT* I now have in my inventory 1 Gacha (basic, 3 cards) that won't go away!

1. I can click on it and get the "can't equip" message.

2. I can drop it and pick it up again, and I get 3 cards.

Great, except when I look in my inventory, there it is still/again.

I can repeat steps 1 and 2 for as long as I like. ;)~

The "can't equip" thing is inconsequential since they changed to be instant, but I did recreate the second issue you mentioned. If you drop it again, have an empty inventory and go to buy gachas again, they should all be working as expected now.

 

Actually, just came up with a true verified fix, I'll be getting it out soon!

Random question: if I wanted to change the name of the cards ingame to something else besides just "Waifu + number", how high is the possibility to break something?

As long as you're changing the only the item names and not any IDs, then it's safe. You'd also have to change the names of the activators if you wanted them to show up when hovering over shelves.

Thank you, also I just had the idea that it would be cool if everytime that you open a book, there was a 3% to 5% chance to get a basic card. I like the idea of some people on skyrim using the waifu cards as bookmarks

Sounds like a fun idea, I'll maybe look into it. And yeah, possibly other creative sources of cards as well.

One last mini-update, sorry for all of these. Basically just one last change to make absolutely sure people's experiences are as smooth as possible. And yeah that's truly it for a while, I'm legit taking a break now because I'm pretty worn out after working on all this stuff, lol

Fixed a single card using the wrong normalmap (and triple-checked all the others while I was at it, just in case)

 

If you're up-to-date with 3.1.2, then you can ignore the main download and just grab these meshes instead:

I'm still basically taking a break, but soon enough I'll be working on more future things like the alternate versions or possibly the Description Framework add-on like I mentioned before. Just need to decide what to focus on first.

I've nearly finished my alternate art for the cards, one little thing I noticed in doing so was that the card for "Forest 13" shows the art for "forest 3" when in your inventory but is fine when displayed.

 

Will post my alternate cards if you're happy with that @doragonmaid
