The Sisterhood of Dibella LE (January 2025)

Ok I am going to toss up a Papyrus log for you Skyrimll, I don't crash a lot in the temple but more there than anywhere else. This log was from a character saved just outside the temple. Went into the main area, talked to the sisters some. Tried to turn in some donations after waiting 24 hours and they kept saying I already donated that day come back tomorrow. Then I went to go deeper in the temple and got a CTD.

So I thought this log might help with maybe seeing what is causing the CTD's in the temple and what might be causing the issue with turning in donations refusing to update.

If it doesn't help no biggy, just figured it wouldn't hurt, in case you see something that shouldn't be there or something that is missing and that is why that quest is not updating.

yea I actually put this mod on hold and am running around doing other quests.

Until I can get some clarification.

It seems I missed something but I can not seem to find what it is.

Ok I think I found part of our problem, if you use console command it seems to make different marks. I found some marks in the donation box, I took them out but they would not stack with my other marks. When I went to talk to the new Sybil I had a new line in dialogue about giving her a mark of Dibella which I didn't have before. When I clicked it she took only the 3 marks that wouldn't stack with the ones I used console command to get. So it seems console command won't let you cheat. Though I was only doing it so I could test out the full mod and provide feedback.

Anyways thought I would let you know about this since we had the same issue there.

I have question what to do when you find the 2 mising sisters? what to do next? how to advance the story?

P.S good mod but lack walkthrough :):P

Ok I checked and if you do help mark of Dibella in the console there is actually two of them now. One of them will update the quest and one of them will not update the quest. I added 100 of each with console command to check and one of them worked. If you look at them in your inventory one of them looks like a coin and one like a gem. The coin one will update the quest.

I think he made a new item "Mark of Dibella" just for this mod, and used the coin look for it.  There are similarily named items with that gem look for the quest in Riften betwen Svana and Haelga.

I don't remember why he made new ones, possibly just for the new look, possibly to not interfere with the vanilla quest. I think there was something written about that all a long way back in the postings.

I just retextured the vanilla Mark of Dibella.

In CK editor, it is called FFRiften11Mark (FormID: 00041F95).

I don't know why you would see two versions.

By the way... I fixed a few quest stage issues at the end of Chapter 1.

I will release the fix after I make some progress with backdrop elements of Chapter 2.

The story for Chapter 2 is almost sorted out.

If you are playing a male character, does the mod currently end after you rescue the Sybil?

As a male character, you should still be able to complete chapter 1 since you should have received the Dibella's Heart perk.

What you will be missing is some side quests, like collecting donations to the temple or having to look for the missing sisters.

I am still looking for a way to involve male characters with the Temple.

i want to recommend 1 thing. thats to not have them requip there clothes if they been taken. im not sure but i think its causing a bit of problems wtih other mods.  ive played a good 6 hours yesterday no crashes. i go do the quests for this mod and find out after zoning a in and out a few times of the temple i crash alot more and its just the temple.

im thinking what it is when u zone in one mod is saying they suppose to be naked then the dibela mod saying no they suppose to be clothed and so they fight a bit when u zone in.

also could we get bodyslide files for the armors u using? i could probaly do some basic cbbe hdt ones but they wouldnt be very good but would get the job done. kinda sucks to see that the body and hdt bounce that seems like i spent forever tweaking for my tastes not working on any of them lol.

Ok after I turned in the two sisters quest I was able to turn in donations again. I don't know if this is a bug, that the quest won't update till you do the two lost sisters or if that is how it is meant to be. If it is meant to be that way then perhaps a change in dialogue is needed to explain the PC is not a full member or something yet. But I am guessing it is a bug since you do some gathering of donations before that.

I wrote it down as a bug and I will check it out soon.

No worries, I am hoping to finish this mod in the next day or two. Though not sure how long it is. So far it is pretty long, if this is the first part of several this is going to be a massive quest mod. Right now I just finished joining the bards college and got the quest to go get what's her faces Flute.

I would say I am near the end of part 1 but each time I think that there is another part. :)

You are about halfway through part 1.

I cheated with this quest by linking into two large sets of vanilla side quests that are often overlooked but fit well with the Dibella theme.

I just finished playing through chapter 1, and all went rather smoothly. Towards the end I was given the final quest a second time if I talked to Mother Hamal after already doing it, but that's the only problem I could find. Mother Hamal and Fjotra were also having a bit of an issue with their pathing through the Baths after one of the options of the final quest, maybe a nav mesh issue or something? At least one of them would usually get stuck near the bed, walking up against it for a while before finally making it past. No big deal, but figured I'd report it anyway.

Great job on part 1, can't wait to see where you take it in part 2 :).

If I am only half way through then it is in deed massive. As for tying it with vanilla quests, I like that for actually playing. Makes testing it take a little longer though :)

So will part 2 be as big?

Can you describe exactly how you were given the final quest a second time?

A dialogue topic and NPC you were talking to would be very helpful.

Certainly, spoilered:

Upon closer inspection I can't actually do the quest again, it just makes the text appear in the middle of the screen as is usual when you're reaching a new quest stage. When I go back to the Temple of Dibella after choosing its fate in Riften, Mother Hamal still has the line of "I know what you did to the last Sybil. You must pay." After her four sentence dialogue, the quest update to go confront Haelga in Riften appears again in the middle of the screen. When I talk to Haelga the dialogues for the quest don't appear a second time though, so I reckon it's just the trigger that makes the quest stage appear in your quest log that happens a second time. Using the same dialogue on Mother Hamal again doesn't trigger the quest update a third time, it seems to happen only once after completing that quest stage.

I don't have a save game any more close before picking the temple's fate, so for now I can only say for sure that it happens when you side with Sanguine. Not sure if that's relevant.

Well finished the flute quest.

Now have to go get Finn's Lute, which I kinda expected by your comments about me only being about half way done. I am guessing you have to end up doing all the Bards College quests. Which will slow down my testing. :)

I am looking forward to getting back to the temple to see what's going on, see the next created part of the quest.

Greetings.

I've had to be away from Skyrim and the internet and such for a few months, so I am just getting around to playing the new version. In a word, splendid (though I am not quite finished with Ch.1 yet). There's a long list of things that I like a lot about this, so, kudos, and thanks as always.

I do have a question:

I just finished the Mara section of the quest and returned to the temple to get the Sybil promoted.
After asking Senna if the Sybil was doing any better I immediately had a dialog option about a "disturbing letter" though I have seen no letters.
I read through some old posts and I assume this is the "letter from Haelga" that you can find in Hamal's chest after you find the key to it.
So, A- is that dialog showing up a bug?
Also, and I am sure that this was answered somewhere in the thread, I cannot figure out how to find the key. I've been over the underground bath areas repeatedly and have found no keys, no letters, etc.
That would be the B- to follow A

C- I am guessing that this is related to B, but I tried picking the option to show Senna the letter I didn't actually have and she suggested that we get more evidence, but with no indication what that might entail. If it is just that I need the actual letter, then there is no question here, but, mmm... thought I'd mention it in case it is something else..

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions/etc.

Also, just as a note on playability: Using LAL "left for dead" as a start I came across the roadside traveling sister near Old Hroldan and went to Markarth on her advice, and have been playing this questline almost exclusively since, starting at Lvl. 1, and playing as a mage. It has been, both doable and fun.

Thanks for the comments :)

It is indeed a bug with the quest stages and I already fixed it a few days ago while play-testing the quest again before working on chapter 2.

I did not release that fix yet as I am replaying it yet again with a male character this time, to fish out more bugs.

Among other things, Chapter 2 will deal with the question of male members in the temple (no pun intended).

Posted

So any other hints other than it will include some for male PC's?

Also I finished the Lute mission and what I expected I got the drum one next. I think that is the last of the bards college ones so looking forward to seeing what comes next.

My targets for chapter 2 are:

- some path to make males active members of the temple again (which is why I am playing through it as a male right now)

- a branch to complete the corruption of the temple if you like what Sanguine did to the place

- a branch to clean up the temple if you told Sanguine to back off (which, by the way, he is inclined to do since you have Dibella ultimately on your side).

Both corruption and cleansing branches will revolve on various Shrines of Dibella across Skyrim.
