Bug report

Purification path, Orla

When reading

Spoiler

Orla's love letters

the quest ONLY updates when I have them in MY inventory.

I tried it

Spoiler

while I was sneaking and while they where still in that box.  They where properly marked as read, but the quest didn't update. I took them anyway, since I knew I will need them.

I returned to Orla, but got no dialogue. Then the idea struck me to try and reading the letters again. Now the quest updated and Orla had her dialogue.

Some condition I guess ? ?

Hi all

I am stuck on the quest to find the two travelling sisters.

The first one was at the broken tower redoubt where I found the Sybill as well.

On asking the Sybill about sisters, she says that one is at the fort where i found her and the second "was killed by a hagtaven above a gaping cave near her village"

Any ideas where this might be???

"(F) Ask Senna if there is anything else you can do. She will ask you to find two missing traveling sisters. Talk to NPCs in and around the Temple for clues (even outside Markarth). The sisters were sent by Mother Hamal to two Forsworn forts on the road between Markarth and Rorikstead. Read letters on the corpses of the sisters when you find them. When you return to Senna with the news, she will officially make you a Traveling sister."

Try to search the Blind Cliff Cave, as far as I remember.

Hi,

How do I start the "A Sybil's Journey" quest? After the vanilla "Heart of Dibella" nothing seems to happen. Thanks in advance.

Cut & paste from the walkthrough

Spoiler
  • (M/F) Rescue the new Sybil and bring her back to the Temple safely. Once you have returned and talked to Mother Hamal about the Sybil, she will tell you to drink from the altar in the main Temple. Drink and receive the Agent of Dibella perk.

  • (F) Ask Senna if there is anything else you can do. When you return to Senna with the news, she will officially make you a Traveling sister.

Hi,

Thank you for the reply, but finding the two dead sisters is not the "A Sybil's Journey" quest. It is part of the "The Sisterhood of Dibella" quest, where you collect donations. "A Sybil's Journey" should somehow start separately, where she should get ranks like Novice, etc... But I can't figure out how to trigger it. The walkthrough doesn't say.

In that case, I didn't understand you and at what step of the story you are.

What was the last actions that you did? What is already done?

Did you already had the task to find the two missing sisters? Did you drink from the holy water? Are you already a travelling sister?

From my few plays as a sister I am tempted to say that the walkthrough is pretty exhaustive, especially in the earlier quests taht we are talking about and that all is mentioned and nothing is missing. ?

That makes we wonder where you are stuck?

Well, until now everything was pretty straight forward. I play female. Collected 10 donations for Senna. She gave me the key to the Inner sanctum. Talked to Mother Hamal. Started the vanilla "Heart of Dibella" quest. Completed it, by bringing the Sybil to the temple and praying at the Altar. Then, only one quest left in the Jourlal, "Joining the Sisterhood of Dibella". Talked to Senna. She asked to find two missing sisters. This updated the "Joining the Sisterhood of Dibella" quest in the journal. Found the two sisters, read their Notes and talked to Senna. This again updated the "Joining the Sisterhood of Dibella" quest to its standard state of simply collecting donations. And now, I am stuck. I need to start the "A Sybil's Journey" quest.

Aaah, I see  Sorry for being not awake to catch that. Need more :coffee:

Do all bullets a few times... from an immersive point of view it is like you are now "living" a few days as a sister

Spoiler
  • talk to the sisters
  • collect marks by fighting forsworn, looting, or having sex with member of the temple faction (switch SLSO seperate orgasms of, should you have it)
  • help Fjotra in her lesson , e.g. have sex with her (if I remember correct it is 2 or 3 sessions, or was it days with sex ... ?)
  • talk to Senna
  • repeat

Senna will have a new dialogue option to start the quest when you have "lived" among the sisters for enough time

I'd like to add to everyone else's idea and make Daggerfall Clovers a bit easier to acquire. Having to run all over Skyrim when you don't use fast-travel is really awkward.  Maybe you can get them from travelling sisters, from Haelga, make a deal with the Thieves Guild to get them, etc., that way you can bump up the requirement to 10 clovers, but because they're easier to find/acquire, it doesn't feel like a glorified fetch quest. Maybe even make it a possible reward from collecting donations, and make them a quest item so that players don't accidentally sell them, up until you need to use them for the quest. Also doesn't force players to break into homes and steal them, which feels especially bad since it goes against the main purpose of the mod.

I have done everything except remove and reinstall the game.  The clovers are NEVER in any apothecary's inventory, and I can only find SIX of the ones hand-hidden by beds in the game.  Very frustrating.

That's because they are (a) clothing and usually not part of the merchant "allowed" sales. Furthermore they a (b) very rare because they are expensive.

If you don't want to steal them (like me), console additem them in your inventory or placeatme them while you are somewhere in the nature to give it an RP feeling.

Hey guys, I've got a problem.

  Hide contents

I'm currently expected to receive a gift of charity and talk to Fjotra ... but I can't talk to her about anything else than "I have something for you" and "How can I assist you, Sybil?"

Do I have to wait a certain time or is it a bug?

If you have an adopted kid, you can trigger the Gift of Charity by giving your adopted kid a treat or gift too.

Ya funnily I did that too, but the thing is, Fjotras Dialogue didn't trigger. I've tried it with beggars, my adopted boy and through console commands just to be sure.

I think back then I installed it wrong. Don't have the mod anymore, but still noteworthy I guess.

there is a well-known bug that occurs in the Vanilla dialog system: If you have too many dialog options, it may be that the menu just "swallows" some lines. There's no vanilla help, but try this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2246 When I had the same problem with Devious Cursed Loot, it helped me there

That wasn't the issue. I already used this mod you linked at that time. (Thanks for addressing it tho, I think everyone should know this mod.)

Fjotra had literally two dialogue options available, nothing more. So it's impossible that it was the too many dialogue bug anyways.
