I have a small issue : as soon as the quest starts (after speaking with Urag), there is a bug with any station. As soon as I interract with an object such as : bed, smithing table, alchemy, enchanting table, etc... , the character instantly leaves the station. Same with you, what route did you go when talking with Urag? If you were neutral or naughty he normally should lock you into a pillory. If that didn't happen, that may be an explanation. But for that, I need a Papyrus log, too, to look for any errors. Or did it happen? Have you struggled out of it sucessfully?

Unfortunately, I don't seem to have a papyrus log, so I guess when I do that quest again, I'll have to use that console command.Ā

Thank you, it worked in the end. i was being a dumb ass "Urag's key" only unlocks Urag's restraints, like the collar and such.

I've tried all different ways : All the neutral and all the naughty answers, and all yield the same results, sadlyĀ :(
I don't have any animation/pillory or anything happening after the dialogue, here is the papyrus log related to the event.
I've made sure to run pandora with multiple animation packs, so I have no clue where it might come from :/Ā

I'm currently testing the mod on my new "1.6.1170" installation.

So what do I find at the orc Urag's "desk"?

It's basically the same thing that the current DD "legally" places -> a note and a key... and I can open a bookcase with it.

Only this time it's -> illegal.

-

The animation with the "running back" from the bookcase to Urak works - as does the "locking" in the KG and the transfer of the quest info.

I know from the forum posts that there were some problems here - but not for me.

-

I have a note here, though -> before I started this quest, I had already been promoted to Archmage, and the old orc also calls me "Archmage."

If possible, please consider in a later version whether the player is still a "student" or already the "boss."

As expected, there were a few potential targets for "Zenidius" listed - I found him in "Mzinchaleft" - the "Special Oil" was quite close in a "Random" chest... I was afraid I'd have to fight my way through the entire city.

The next mission takes me to Raldbthar and this is where the problems begin:

I had completed this ruin shortly before starting "The Forbitten Tome" -> the shard for the special forge is at the end.

So, I walked through the location again, virtually without enemy contact, and looked at the containers I'd already looted -> no luck.

Okay - there is a way to set a "marker"... but it completely fails -> no matter what combination I try with the "Set" command - "unknown variable"

-

So I looked at all the "Global Variables"... and tried setting the marker to Zenidius -> that worked immediately.

So I don't have the correct spelling for the "Special Dwemer Gyro"... and here I'm asking for help.

"Set tftEasySpezialDwemerGyro to 1" doesn't work... and please don't ask me how many variations I've tried!

I searched for chests again at the beginning of the ruins of Raldbthar... and actually found one I had overlooked.

So back to Zenidius - he tasks me with finding a Centurion Gyro... in the Dwemer city beneath Markath, of course.

I had already completed this quest before this one... and here, even after two hours of searching, I FOUND NOTHING.

So, I have no idea how to use the "mechanics" for placing the quest object.

By the way - in addition to the actual Dwemer city, there's also the tunnel - into which the player is sent in the quest by "Calcelmo" (eliminating the spider).

Here, I then preceded the quest with a set stage - just to test out how it continues (content-wise).

So, I traveled to Zenidius with the "fake gyro" - picked up the book, and continued on to the orc Urak.

Ā 

He sends me (tied up and blinded, of course) to search for "his" key in the "students' dormitory."

I really searched every chest there... even with TCL and TGM in stealth mode (including the "merchant" chests) -> NOTHING!

Is that really the point of this quest, to "break into" the students' and teachers' chests?

From here on, I'm out... I uninstalled the mod... I don't understand the point of the whole "enterprise"!

There's a FAQ which tells you the solution ^^ "set tftEasyObjects to 1"Ā (without quotes). Literally this, no alteration for any specifc object needed. Once you found it, you can set it back to 0 (zero) with the same command "set tftEasyObjects to 0" if you want to search the third object again.

The item should be in the ruin, even though you've emptied it before, it gets placed once the quest starts.

Thanks for your suggestion! Yeah, the original source by Min were at least two quest lines that were very loosely connected by the Mage's Guild, so the inspiration thought of you advancing those quests in parallel to the Mage quest line.

Additionally, I didn't really think about somebody doing that quest "that late". But I can try to think of some fun twist if you're already Archmage ^^

And now comes a problem that probably very few users of your mod will have -> another mod "overwrites" the target chest in the armory... it's covered by a HUGE armor chest.

Now I also understand the "spirit" behind mods like CD or DCL... and none of them correspond to my own understanding of BDSM – the bondage dress and the dormitory are too "intrusive" for me personally... especially not suitable for a character who's already an archmage!

Well, that's unlucky, but nothing I can account for. The mod looks for special marked chests within the dungeon, it doesn't really choose a random one (if I find out how to achieve this with native quest alias conditions, that definitely will change ^^). So probably, this might happen again in another run.

Well, I'm kinky myself and one thing I learned: BDSM is as diverse as human beings. Every single inidivdual has their own understanding of it.

The big problem in this case is to tie together gameplay mechanics with those different BDSM styles. And the first question for this: do you want to target the player or their avatar? With the avatar you have many possibilities and can try to tackle everything BDSM has to offer, but it's more like a show or porn while playing. Most of the defeat mods go this route, you watch you avatar bearing the consequences for the defeat. Most prominent, rape: DS by forcing the avatar under the will of the attacker, bondage often included and SM arguably by painful unconsensual sex or sometimes whipping. All big aspects covered.

Video games mostly want to catch their players though, as do mods like CD, DCL or this one. So, what options do you have to get BDSM plays into video games? BD (bondage) is not possible (yet?). How would I be able to make my mod tie up some random player in front of their PC? SM, similar problem. Only way would be E-Stim by a connected device and how many people have this?

Leaves us with DS. Those are often tedious, exertive and/or boring tasks in RL, too (if it's not long-term), but with some satisfaction in the end. That's definitely feasible in gameplay. A popular video game example for this case, imho, would be Souls Like games. Very hard boss fights with exhaustive repetitions but the satisfaction of defeating said boss in the end.

This one is similar: it's tedious to run around and search the stuff, but you should get the satisfaction in the end to hand over the book at last. And if you choose the bratty answers, most brats want to receive some punishments: the key search.

So, the thing with CD, DCL, my mod and others is less a narrow understanding of BDSM or something. It's more the few possibilities to target the real person with your BDSM play.

If you have good ideas how to widen up that spectrum, I'd be more than grateful to hear them! Sadly, I myself personally am mostly into bondage and sensory plays, not so much into DS, so I'm not good at finding fun new ways to carry this by gameplay :/Ā

Alle wichtigen Aspekte werden abgedeckt.

Videospiele wollen ihre Spieler aber meist fesseln, ebenso wie Mods wie CD, DCL oder diese hier. Welche Möglichkeiten gibt es also, BDSM-Spiele in Videospiele zu integrieren? BD (Bondage) ist (noch?) nicht möglich. Wie könnte ich meinen Mod dazu bringen, einen beliebigen Spieler vor seinem PC zu fesseln? SM, ähnliches Problem. Die einzige Möglichkeit wäre E-Stimulation über ein angeschlossenes Gerät, und wie viele Leute haben so etwas?

Bleibt nur noch DS. Das sind oft auch im echten Leben mühsame, anstrengende und/oder langweilige Aufgaben (wenn man nicht langfristig spielt), aber am Ende mit einer gewissen Befriedigung. Das ist im Gameplay definitiv machbar. Ein beliebtes Videospielbeispiel hierfür wären meiner Meinung nach Souls-like-Spiele. Sehr harte Bosskämpfe mit erschöpfenden Wiederholungen, aber die Befriedigung, den jeweiligen Boss am Ende besiegt zu haben.

Ƅhnlich verhƤlt es sich: Es ist zwar mühsam, herumzulaufen und alles zu durchsuchen, aber man sollte am Ende die Genugtuung haben, das Buch endlich abgeben zu kƶnnen. Und wenn man die frechen Antworten wƤhlt, wollen die meisten Gƶren eine Strafe: die Schlüsselsuche.

Also, bei CD, DCL, meinem Mod und anderen geht es weniger um ein enges VerstƤndnis von BDSM oder so etwas. Es geht eher um die wenigen Mƶglichkeiten, die reale Person mit seinem BDSM-Spiel anzusprechen.

Wenn ihr gute Ideen habt, wie man dieses Spektrum erweitern kann, würde ich mich sehr freuen, davon zu hören! BOTH chests exist – the smaller one from the vanilla game containing the quest item is almost completely covered by the 3D model of the armor chest from "my" Dwemer mod... so I had to "walk into" the larger chest via TCL to be able to interact with the smaller one.

The contents of both chests do NOT interact with each other – so no problem for your mod in this regard... You don't need to change anything.

Regarding BDSM in computer games... if I have virtually no chance in-game -> my character has no opportunity to make a decision (see DCL's quest chain with the prisoner in Helgen)... that's not a good solution for me.

I assume you're familiar with Laura's mod (Laura's Bondage Shop)... there's not such massive coercion here.

I played through your mod primarily because I'm working on a quest suggestion for Laura's mod:

- The current mod includes a longer voluntary confinement in her shop - you essentially "advertise" her shop and are paid.

- The multi-stage main quest is complete.

- The player's advertising was successful - now the first customers are coming into the store -> the shop is practically being presented in the shop - the player is the model (Laura is probably working on this right now).

- And now the previous supplier of the shop is out of commission -> the player suggests making it themselves or getting a construction manual -> the blueprints are in Urak's library (which would be my idea).

Will Urak release the plans immediately (current DD mod) or will there be expeditions to Dwemer ruins... and how can these be designed in the spirit of Laura's mod?

I'm sorry, I think this mod is somewhat seriously bugged.Ā  It's a good idea and everything, but some things have to be resolved.Ā 

Ā 

Bug Nr.1Ā 

After Urag does his initial spell, the workbench at the smithing stone don't work any more.Ā  It the workbench starts up, the menu starts up, but then the menu disappears again after one second or so.Ā  Maybe with quick clicking, you could get something in, but doing that for the rest of the game, surely not.Ā  The same happens with the smithing stone to sharpen weapons.Ā  Basically this is the same issue that user Wild Trout has reported above.
This bug also happened once before, and may be inherited from DD, as a contraption-trap once triggered the same bug, but it was slightly worse even, since every time when using e.g. forge or smithing stone, the other animation from the contraption would play again.Ā  Made the game unplayable and had to go back a lot of saves, because you don't notice it at first in the dungeon, and only later you find out something is permanently damaged in your game now.

The reason seems to be:Ā  The game still thinks there is a running scene,Ā  tftPunishSceneScript, (see third screenshot).Ā Ā And that seems to be breaking all the workbench, smithing stone, alchemy tables etc.Ā  And this is getting saved with the savegame and therefore permanently damages the game after that.

Bug Nr.2

Then I find Zenidius.Ā  I bring the Special Oil no problem.Ā  Then he wants the Special Dwemer Gyro.Ā  But its not in the entire ruin where Zenidius is.Ā  Even though he says "My research bla bla bla, item must be in this ruin."Ā  But it's not.Ā  Its somewhere totally different right aross the entire map of Skyrim in a different ruin.Ā 
So, okay, I find the stuff and bring it back from the other ruin.Ā  But the Script doesn't recognize the Gyro, see screenshots below.Ā  Sadly, the only option is "Sadly, bla bla bla".Ā

Hi there!

Awesome quest, by the way.

Yet I'm having an issue for finishing the quest. Just found the Urags device keys in a barrel at the dormitory.

But quest doesn't advance. Should it?.

I tried to open the devices with the keys, but items are not removed. (Im ussing Unforgiving Devices, unlock minigame goes well, locks reads as unlocked but item is not removed).

Also walked back to Urag but there is nothing new in there.

After Urag does his initial spell, the workbench at the smithing stone don't work any more.Ā  It the workbench starts up, the menu starts up, but then the menu disappears again after one second or so.Ā  Maybe with quick clicking, you could get something in, but doing that for the rest of the game, surely not.Ā  The same happens with the smithing stone to sharpen weapons.Ā  Basically this is the same issue that user Wild Trout has reported above.
This bug also happened once before, and may be inherited from DD, as a contraption-trap once triggered the same bug, but it was slightly worse even, since every time when using e.g. forge or smithing stone, the other animation from the contraption would play again.Ā  Made the game unplayable and had to go back a lot of saves, because you don't notice it at first in the dungeon, and only later you find out something is permanently damaged in your game now.

The reason seems to be:Ā  The game still thinks there is a running scene,Ā  tftPunishSceneScript, (see third screenshot).Ā Ā And that seems to be breaking all the workbench, smithing stone, alchemy tables etc.Ā  And this is getting saved with the savegame and therefore permanently damages the game after that.

Then I find Zenidius.Ā  I bring the Special Oil no problem.Ā  Then he wants the Special Dwemer Gyro.Ā  But its not in the entire ruin where Zenidius is.Ā  Even though he says "My research bla bla bla, item must be in this ruin."Ā  But it's not.Ā  Its somewhere totally different right aross the entire map of Skyrim in a different ruin.Ā 
So, okay, I find the stuff and bring it back from the other ruin.Ā  But the Script doesn't recognize the Gyro, see screenshots below.Ā  Sadly, the only option is "Sadly, bla bla bla".Ā

Yeah, this mod was my first experiment of doing other stuff with the CK instead of just glueing scripts into the game, so there may be multiple bugs. That's why it's still Beta.

On the other hand, you are the first to report those bugs specifically, and I don't know what else you did. For everybody else so far the dialogue seemed to work flawlessly once they got to Zenidius with the requested item.

For the blocked workbenches, I don't know what's causing this. Probably, as you mentioned, the contraption, but I don't do much with that except calling the DDc API script.

I can look into it, but maybe some script didn't advance properly on your end. Do you have a script log or something?

I'm not sure. The three items in question are Urag's Collar, Urag's Belt and Zen's Belt. Those are the only three quest items, the only three items that can be unlocked with Urags Key and they all carry their respective DD item script, so in normal circumstances they should behave like any other quest device as well. Meaning, once they get unlocked, they should send their events

I believe we solved it. I removed the forbidden tome from the list of mods to patch with synthesis.

It doesnt work with the save I had before ending the quest, but seems it does if I reload a save before I started the quest. Will keep you updated.

In the meantime: I have a sugestion for you.

It onvolves a change from original mod. But I'm wondering if Zen could be investigating the dwarven quirassĀ 


When you find Zen at the end of the quest he might ask you for a last job of testing his device.

I mean... he probably had something in mind for the special oil, gyro and... the other.

I knew of this "armour", but I didn't think of combning it with this mod ^^ Might have a look into it, will only happen though if I get it to work as an optional add-on.

It's an interesting idea though, the original mod had some follow-up stuff as well. Maybe I will dive into that, too, on that occasion.

Honestly I give up... I have look everywhere in every body,chest for the special Gyro for 4 hours. Found 5 normal Gyro.

Made the dungeon from side to side and never found the special gyro. The item cannot be spam or found.Ā 


Even look with TCL cccode. Disable every Chest and re-enable it.

Ā 

No marker... At less you could put it on the guardian Centurion or made a possibility to spam it with CC code.

Ā 

I spam the book and see Urag for at less complete the quest.

Ā

Hey, that's really strange. The quest shouldn't even be able to start if the gyro isn't there as it's part of the required aliases.

There's an issue with the punishment scene in the intro when the player pisses off Urag. A pillory scene is supposed to happen here, however it does not, it skips right to the chastity belt equip as fallback. Log says the following:

Issue is that the "tftPunishScene" property on the quest stage 15 script fragment is not filled, it needs to be set to the scene of the same name. Without this, the punishment scene will hang and prevent DD contraption usage and sex scenes for the player!

Also, the bookshelf itself has no theft status (I don't know how to say otherwise), and when selecting the key and opening the cabinet, nothing happens, you can safely pick up the contents and read all the books. What is the problem? Skyrim version 1.5.97 costs DD 5.2, DDCL is the LATEST, DDNG, and if you remove the "The Forbidden Tome" mod or perform a clean install of DD 5.2, the note, key, and forbidden bookcase will still exist. I'm sorry for my English, it's not my native language.
