Can confirm it lost compatibility with le, no idea if you plan to support le going forward and try to fix it but I hope you do. I'm an le boomer and like the mod

Did you try to repack the bsa archive? The new version has a bsa archive that's for SE, I assume if you repack it for LE it should work. Can be done with tools like Cathedral Assets Optimizer

 

I don't know of anything else in the quest design itself that should hinder it from starting with LE. I still consider the mod to be beta though, until I get enough feedback that it's stable and if I don't find anything to change/fix/optimize ^^

What exactly does "Total rework!!! - Requires new game!" mean for versions > 0.5.x?

Does this warning apply "only" to users who already had installed an older version prior to 0.5.x and/or does this warning also apply to users who until now never had installed it at all?

It's especially the warning that simply updating from an older version won't work. The mod now does include an autostart quest though and I'm not sure if that starts if you install it mid-playthrough. You can try and let me know ^^

I have never even heard of this tool before so i did not. Can you give me a quick tldr on how and I'll give it a go. also after uninstalling and installing .3 again the quest you referred to started I think. Is it called a book to read and talks about giving power to a female dragon born?

 

cuz idk what else mod I installed with my new game coulda done that so maybe my mod manager did a shit job uninstalling and installing .3 and I have some weird leftovers from .5

I forgot to mention that in the picture: of course, before clicking run, you have to click "Open Directory" and search for the folder that includes the files of my mod.

Nope, the autostart quest I've mentioned isn't visible to the player. Its only purpose is to manage the visibility of the bookcase, so it gets hidden as long as the player wears quest DD items.

I'll give it a go now also wonder what mod started that quest. cuz ive never had that happen before but im trying a bunch of old ass mods that ive never used before too

Nope, the autostart quest I've mentioned isn't visible to the player. Its only purpose is to manage the visibility of the bookcase, so it gets hidden as long as the player wears quest DD items.

I see your tutorial im a dingus lol, i need to click the folder thought since i selected one mod option itd have me grab a specific bsa. fuck maybe i shoulda put this on my desktop its trying to extract all my bsas from over 200 mods

You don't need to choose the bsa archive, you simply choose the folder that does contain the bsa

Well it started so i assume its gonna work. accidently running the extractor on all my bsas seems to have fucked shit up so I can't test it rn because i need to fix that/maybe reinstall lol

I have attached the bsa i had in my folder when the game loaded and did not crash. Idk if it fully works but it stops the crash on launch issue

 wait it turned them into bak files. This might be easier to fix that i thought

ok it was an easy fix. deleted the vanilla skyrim bsas that got turned into .bak and verified my game files. fixed that issue and the mcms of the mods still there after letting it stew for a few so i think the mods just work anyway. ill find out soon enough lol. But it appears it fixed my shit. wont have to do a reinstall after a reinstall

very quick question inregards to new game, is it like new new game or can it be one after i set up my mcms but havent even talked to statue of mara in alternate start yet?

So the narrative is slightly flawed i feel like:

The key to hidden bookcase is under the Urag's desk, but he is sitting by it all day. That is until night came and he went to sleep, that i went in and took key and went for bookcase. Then quest says that Urag caught me opening it, but he wasn't even in the room nor on the way to talk to me. Not even after (T) waiting till 8 am he wasn't at the desk yet.

 

Seems he was waiting downstairs, stuck in cutscene sort of. I went there myself and he then started convo the moment i stepped through the door.

Hmm, never tried this occasion for some reason ?

I'll try to come up with a fix for that, normally he should walk towards his desk from wherever he is at the moment you close the bookcase.

 

In the meantime, you simply can try

to pick the bookcase at daytime, when Urag's around. With v0.5 onwards the bookcase is pickable to make it easier to start the quest. I know, it's not that stroy-driven anymore, but at least one of the possible answers makes sense that way. So one can say it's party of the story anyways ^^

 

EDIT: got an idea for a quick hacky patch, try v 0.5.3

Urag now gets ported to the stairs like he just entered or ported there when he's not around when the quest starts. With a quick test he reliably showed up and walked towards his place ranting before the scene continued. So all as it should be.

Sry i don't have save for that point anymore, the quest worked despite the little glitch and i'm now further on in the exploring phase.

So when Urag was downstairs he left me there in furniture with the chastity, then moved on to the library to his Skyrim things as usual. Furniture was removed after escaping it and i think it was clean state to continue.

The v0.5 has its voices already included in the bsa archive. They are up-to-date.

 

If too many people don't like the voicing, it is audibly artificial in the end, maybe I'll extract it as extra patch again.

So i have Special Dwemer Gyro and quest asks to find Zenidius but there are no map markers at all now. I explored the last dwarven dungeon throughly, which btw wasn't open yet anyway. I had to level up to 14 so i could take vanilla Skyrim quest from Riften so that the cave entrance appears. That was Avanchnzel, and i forgot the other potential locations which disappeared from the map long before i even saw the places. I also tried talking to Urag but he also asks me to find Zen.

 

Edit: Temp fixed with "placeatme" command.

Upon retrieving the item, the Gyro in your case, the quest first should ask to return to the point where you last have seen Zenidius. Only when you get close enough to that point, then the quest asks to search for Zenidius and should show the markers, too. That shouldn't be much of a problem, as those points always are on your way, back at the entrance.

 

Additionally, you never have to delve into any dungeon to find Zenidius, as he always will wait either outside or right at the entrance inside. It's only needed for the items and then he tells you what dungeon to delve into. I tried my best to avoid using quest locked dungeons for the items, too.

 

One change to former versions: The quest won't show a message in the top left that you've found Zenidius, it just continues to the next objective and tells you to talk to him. In that case the marker always shows Zenidius' location.

Here a back port to Syrim LE. VErsion 0.53 not fully test yet. but Intro is works well.
Voice already Packed into 1 BSA.

Nice mod! Didn't play through it all yet but here's a compatibility patch for Obscure's College of Winterhold.

 

I moved the forbidden case to replace one of the book cases in the entrance hall where Urag hangs out. I also moved the scene markers accordingly, and the note + key to his new desk.

If you look straight out from Urag's desk, it is the further of the 2 book cases on the right wall. You might need to move around the camera a bit as the container activation popup slightly interferes with the "rotating collection" popup from Obscure's COW. Get pretty close, 3rd person seems to help:

I remember having to get a key that unlocked a bookshelf, which had a book that made u able to craft devious devices - but that's it.

Oh yes, there was much more. ?  A rather unique fetch quest.
