Fictional characters who DESERVED BETTER.

Which fictional character do you think deserved better? Same rules:

No real people who appeared in fiction.

The media in which they originate doesn't matter.

NO POLITICS OR RELIGION. Let's keep this within the guidelines people.

For me, it would have to be the Clones from Star Wars. They were nothing but puppets for Palpatine to use in his take over of the Galaxy. The Clones were loyal to the Jedi they fought with, but could do nothing when Order 66 was activated. That's why I feel like the Clones deserved so much better, because they had their own personalities and truly cared for the Republic, but could do nothing to stop themselves from betraying the Jedi and the Republic.

I have a candidate:

"Harey Kelvin" from the novel by Stanislaw Lem -> "Solaris".

there are two film versions

- the better one by Andrei Tarkowski

- the better known one by Steven Soderbergh

"Harey" is present twice in the plot of the novel ... as the dead ex-wife of protagonist "Kris Kelvin" and as a "copy" created by the ocean from Kris' memories.

that she has to "die" at the end ... I ALWAYS thought it was unfair ... she also deserved the chance to develop herself further.

My Skyrim PC. She has to test all those devious LL mods no matter how hard she tries to avoid triggering them.

She's only pretending not to like it. In reality, she loves it. Keep punishing her.

Dang, you know her pretty well.?

I had a suspicion already that she secretly visits Skyrim SE ?

Well - I definitely have it better when it comes to Skyrim... in some part of this fucking multiverse I'm going to die on an intensive care ward in 2033 and come to Nirn.

This has nothing to do with faith - but with the knowledge that "infinite diversity" also means "infinite possibilities" ... and every absurd thing that a human mind thinks up ... somewhere else -> is reality

that's why the term "fictitious" is so ... complicated (as Recorder always says)

it's fictional here... it's real there... so how do you avoid "real".

???

You must have some sort of 007 week or month atm?

I must admit it's fun to watch them all in chronological order and see how society has changed. At least in the movie kind of change.

Me also feels sorry for Mr. Q ?

Newest to oldest I trust? Otherwise, you're doing it wrong.

WHAT? NO!

Oldest to newest. That way I don't need to watch em all and give up before the last... err 3?

Misogyny goes down ⬇️, action goes up ⬆️, not so hidden Advertising ⬆️, story and the 007 feeling goes down the drain ?.

At least that's my impression in chronological order.

But what James Bond movie was actually good?

I have a confession. I have never seen a James Bond movie in my life. I know some references, like “shaken, not stirred”, but that’s pretty much it.

Pfft. You start with the bad and end with the good.

I start with the cheesy ones that's true. ? I even think James bond movies need to be a bit cheesy. ?

Those early movies have all the archetypes of evil villains and Mr Q rocks in those early James Bond movies.

From the newer James Bond generations I liked the one with Pierce Brosman, but that might be caused only thanks the tank driving scene and his role in Remington Steel.

(I had a crush on Stephanie Zimbalist that's why I had to watch every episode ?)

Wasn’t she the one he was only married to for 10 minutes before she was killed?

War sie nicht diejenige, mit der er nur zehn Minuten verheiratet war, bevor sie getötet wurde?

She was the only "Bond girl" to marry Mr. Bond.

all the others Mr. Bond just fucked - Diana Rigg however was led to the marriage altar

that's why ... and because of many other things ... she is special

?My parents even lied about my age, so we could watch them together in the cinema.

Personally, I recommend Goldfinger or Thunderball to get into the right mood.

Casino Royale gets it quite good if you prefer the modern world

?

One thing that always annoyed me whenever I heard about the Bond movies was how he was a womanizer. It's nice that he got married, even if it didn't end well.

Eine Sache, die mich immer genervt hat, wenn ich von den Bond-Filmen hörte, war, dass er ein Frauenheld war. Es ist schön, dass er geheiratet hat, auch wenn es nicht gut ausgegangen ist.

But this actor was only allowed to play Agent 007 once - a pity, really.

A necessary death ... otherwise it would be too much of a happy end :classic_unsure:
