ALLofthem Posted September 18, 2025 Posted September 18, 2025 Is there a reason for the the OnMagicEffectApply() function in US_Urag_Script to still exist? I noticed that the only code in there that would actually do anything is commented out, and that particular function causes some issues on my side when I accept Urag's research offer and eat the black goo (potentially due to a bad interaction with other mods). After doing that, I get repeated Papyrus stack dumps as below: [09/18/2025 - 11:13:52AM] Event: US_Urag_Script.OnMagicEffectApply, Frequency: 3120 [09/18/2025 - 11:13:52AM] ###############Stack Dump Summary End################## [09/18/2025 - 11:13:52AM] Dumping stack 3179925: [09/18/2025 - 11:13:52AM] Frame count: 0 (Page count: 0) [09/18/2025 - 11:13:52AM] State: Waiting on other stack for call (Freeze state: Freezing) [09/18/2025 - 11:13:52AM] Type: Normal [09/18/2025 - 11:13:52AM] Return register: None [09/18/2025 - 11:13:52AM] Has stack callback: No [09/18/2025 - 11:13:52AM] Stack trace: [09/18/2025 - 11:13:52AM] [alias Urag on quest US_UragGRQ (5917BCBD)].US_Urag_Script.OnMagicEffectApply() - (requested call) [09/18/2025 - 11:13:52AM] [param 0]: [Actor < (00000014)>] [09/18/2025 - 11:13:52AM] [param 1]: [MagicEffect < (30B8845C)>] I'm not sure why the function gets triggered at such a high rate, but the fact that it calls Game.GetPlayer() at the frequency it does brings the Papyrus VM to its knees. The magic effects listed in the all the stack traces are from Adamant, so I'm guessing that's the mod that's interacting badly with this function.
kurotatsu Posted September 18, 2025 Author Posted September 18, 2025 This is a good catch, that code is remains from experiments to handle being hit by the shout. Safe to comment out all the OnMagicEffectApply event handler and recompile. Try to do that and see if it goes away? My guess for that weird behavior - something spams with some spell, maybe some cloak spell with too much repetition. This mod does nothing like this.
ALLofthem Posted September 18, 2025 Posted September 18, 2025 I'll give that a shot once I can get Papyrus script compilation working on my side, I think I'm just missing dependency source files. I'm pretty sure at this point though that Adamant is indeed doing something with applying magic effects too frequently, as there's a few comments in its discussions that mention issues with vanilla scripts that use OnMagicEffectApply.
Zaflis Posted October 15, 2025 Posted October 15, 2025 (edited) Just a thought, if there was slight customization possible for the dragon shout equipping full abadon set? It's actually very common thing those overlord level or around that draugr shout. Or if it could give some lesser set (full or partial) sometimes? Would be nice if it was same with poison traps, but i know that behavior is from UD side. But this might be one of the reasons i don't like this mod much in bigger playthrough because those devices are really long and tough to get out of, and so frequent to get equipped. Or maybe a slider for % chance of it to equip anything? Edited October 15, 2025 by Zaflis

Be careful though, because they are directional so you have to aim at the draugr whos shout you are trying to block. If you don´t like ward spells because you want a shield or don't have the magicka, you can always get the artifact Spellbreaker. A shield that makes wards. 1

Good luck trying to guard against those in Skuldafn. Especially with mods like Skuldafn Better Defended and Hand Placed Enemies. You get swarmed with about 3 dozen Overlords, and they all have the shout. Even Odin's wards and ZIM's version of Spellbreaker, both of which are considerably more powerful than their vanilla versions, can't handle that. I can't imagine how nightmarish this place must be with the crap that are vanilla wards, which I never used before Odin.
kurotatsu Posted October 15, 2025 Author Posted October 15, 2025 (edited) Please don't forget that the shout is now distributed by SPID. So you can edit that file with notepad and set percentages as you like! For example you can comment out Overlords getting top level with 100% probability, leaving only random ones in. To comment line out - insert semicolon in front of it (;) Or change 100 to percentage you prefer. Edited October 15, 2025 by kurotatsu

pangxie250 Posted November 29, 2025 Posted November 29, 2025 Why does my draugr only emit a normal shout?Do I need to complete the main quest first?
kurotatsu Posted November 29, 2025 Author Posted November 29, 2025 It depends of your level. Shouting draugrs can be met at level 20+, exceptions are dungeon bosses, those can shout even at level 1 of player. However even if draugr has the shout they might opt to use other ones.
MrBig Posted December 7, 2025 Posted December 7, 2025 (edited) with the switch to SE for future updates does that mean you have ideas planned for expansion or is it more for bug fixes etc? Had a little idea for possible new stuff, to make Skyrim a little more unforgiving but I don't know how easy or hard making stuff is so might very well be outside the scope of what you want from ideas Abadon Living Latex/Abadon Slime (same thing, just flavour names although could be different things) A new custom enemy/NPC (just humanoid equipped with full latex suit/gloves/hood to look as doll like as possible) that can randomly spawn either in the wild or in same way as thugs/assassins that target you. When it does spawn it can have multiple versions; it can just be hostile, attacking with Abadon shout or with 'perfect' Abadon weapons that will always bind you (or at least high chance) it can be 'friendly' and initiate conversation with you like hired thugs and equip you with any of the things you've unlocked with Urag including extreme stuff like execution potion. It can reward you with a large amount of things like gold/abadon gems/ingots etc to compensate player but the main point of it is that the player doesn't have a choice, you WILL be getting bound. If you are bound already when you come across a living latex then they would have some fun with you, using you and could potentially add extra gear depending on how you are bound already. and finally it can 'encase' you, absorbing you into it, turning you into a doll and equipping itself to you as a new Living Latex outfit, with some new living latex tentacle plugs that fill your holes and latex tentacle gag filling your mouth (just custom plugs with flavour text/effects mostly, not expecting new models or anything to that extreme) like the execution set, this would be extremely hard to remove and would be regularly morphing its shape, equiping various latex restraints to bind you tightly. a living latex sample would also be something you can research or show to urag to test too Edited December 7, 2025 by MrBig 2
kurotatsu Posted December 7, 2025 Author Posted December 7, 2025 So this is kind of Devious Striker, but Unforgiving type? Love the idea, written it down! However when and if it will be implemented - that's another story... 1
MrBig Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 a bit yeah. was thinking a bit rarer than strikers since it would be much more punishing but also, iirc, strikers can wear all devices while this is latex focused. I love unforgiving skyrim but currently everything is at the players control; drinking the potions, doing stuff for Urag etc. Skyrim could be a little more unforgiving if something could target the player and make use of all the fun toys available. of course I know not everyone would like not having the choice so I imagine would need to something you can turn off and thematically the whole goo concept just very much lends itself to a living latex potential, both for an enemy (a large concentration of goo gaining some sentients) and as a punishing set. getting covered in goo and turned into a rubber doll just fits 🤭 2
MrBig Posted December 19, 2025 Posted December 19, 2025 For some reason I can't get the abadon shout to work on SE. I have SPID, I changed all the value's to 100%, stood there for a few minutes and let myself get hit multiple times with shouts but no matter what I try abadon shouts just don't trigger.

Please note it's highly random and depends on your level. You have to have level 20+ by default for draugr to start getting those. Also you want to change cells after changing SPID file, because those enemies which were already processed probably wouldn't be processed again. In some locations draugr are fixed to low levels, like in the first barrow where you are getting Dragonstone.
MrBig Posted December 19, 2025 Posted December 19, 2025 (edited) i'm level 50+ and travelled to different dungeons to try, but its all just regular shouts. tried spawning in numerous overlords/deathlords too. unforgiving skyrim itself is working. completed all the quests/research etc, just shouts that don't seem to be. Edit: I don't understand this sort of stuff but trying to look at files related to SPID and I found this that the shout says fail. guessing thats important but as I said beyond my understanding Edited December 19, 2025 by MrBig additional info

Thank you for the help and the place to focus on Edit: All fixed, your suggestion about newest version was correct just it wasn't for powerofthree it was for SPID itself, somehow I downloaded an old version, installed newest and shout works. Nalessa Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Really liking all the unforgiving mods so far, especially Urag's quests, get gold and goo from escaping his tests, use that to put in the chest, makes you want to engage with the bondage devices more instead of just one and done. Only suggestion I could make is make the log give a little bit more info. Right now, it keeps saying need more time and gold, but I keep waiting and putting more gold in the chest (25.000 gold so far ) Would be neat of the log would say "I need a lot of time and a lot of gold to progress", and it turns to "I only need a little bit more time and some gold now to complete", to kind of give you a vague idea of how long or how much gold you still need to add. 1
