Open3Dlab is just a model sharing site, right? Providing the character models in there and let people use them, thinking that they're free assets is just wrong.

No modder should be paywalling mods, they don't own the IP of the game. Nor do they have a gun pointed to them to make mods.

 

Making mods is a passion project. The ones that want to tread in grey waters can accept donations and hope the game's legal team doesn't bite.

Sad, Just sad, Nothing I can say to you. You are CONVINCED. That modders should be paid for mods. You neglected to take into account everything else or you simply refuse to. You think they ask for payment now because its harder? You think because its harder they deserve to be paid. You poor thing, They only do this now because patreon exist. Those who would've never bothered otherwise would have stayed in hiding and let the free makers enjoy themselves. Now free makers get compete with the idea of "I can make money from this now?". There is so much more you don't understand or refuse to because you have already asked or have happily thrown your money away. That would be great if Capcom would be removing ALL the mods and videos from Youtube about RE 4 Remake. The thing is that they only are deleting the NSFW mods for Ashley and allowing all the other for Leon or Luis. Also, you can download plenty of normal mods for Ashley on Nexusmods, so what are you saying has little sense (unless you are trying to say that Capcom has the intention of selling nude or skimpy skins of Ashley).

I took a look, there are no high-quality mods, basically they are color-changing clothes, for the time being，I mean Ashley's clothes.

He just wants to get everything for free, even if he gets mods for free, he will complain, like some players in The Elder Scrolls 5.

The earliest free mod creators gave up distributing mods for free because of the appearance of such people, in order to avoid endless complaints and insults.

And your assumption and judgment about me is entirely wrong. Your Claim about free modders is also entirely wrong...where are you getting your information? Stop making baseless claims. What indication do you have the creators aren't modding for free? It's SOME modders that aren't which is the problem. You keep repeating that there's so much I don't understand- but then you don't actually tell me the thing I don't understand? I told you the FACTS as someone who has made mods in the past. I made plenty of Sims 4 mods as a college student when I had the free time. Even on a game that old painting weights and getting everything to interact right was very time consuming, but I just did it because I wanted to see the characters I liked in the Sims. I know for a FACT that modding for a game as new as RE4 remake is 10X more work than that. That is undeniable FACT.

 

What is your argument? You have never personally talked to any of these paid modders, you have no idea of their personality- you just assume they are greed driven people. How is that a FACT? Are you psychic? You read their minds? You make this crazy broad stroke of judgement of these people claiming it's because you're informed about them... I was kinda joking about the underage thing before but now it actually does seem some of you here are very childish.

 

My advice- go make a mod. See how difficult it is and then come back and say all mods should be free.
