Skyrim AE for Beginners - V 3.1.0

I just installed skypia's Dynamic Dodge Animation. It works with all three of the well known dodge mods. I have it with TK Dodge RE - Script Free, mostly because I already had TK installed. dTry's Key Utils is a requirement to make TK work. I installed the NG version from the dKU posts page. It gives TK Dodge 8-way dodge. I can confirm that it works for TK 8-way, even in my marathon torture held-together-with-duct-tape almost 2 year SE play thru! I don't use dodge as much as I should, but I like it so far.

 

I also am using TK Dodge SE - TK Dodge For RE (from files page) to support the "RE" version, and TK Dodge - Settings Loader.

 

I am not really promoting TK over the others, just giving some FYI. I am really curious which dodge mod is chosen here. This subject is ever evolving, and I have not tried the others.

 

Notes:

-FWIW, I think the Dynamic Dodge Animation mod might not work with more recent versions of Distar's mod.

-There is also the issue of invincibility frames (things like IFrame Generator RE AE Support). I have not tried that yet, but it could reward skill/timing and compensate for a more punishing game.

Not certain about it, but i'll take a look at:

Got to see how i handle the required changes to 'Nemesis'. Maybe i'll tinker around and create a separate patch.

 

✔️Guard Torch Remover                                        Fixes the guards still using torches even if they have a lantern.

✔️Clean Save Auto-reloader                                 This should prevent a few broken save-games.

Helm Hair                                                           Sounds good, but i didn't get it working (for now?).

 Lets HDT those ARMORS                                    Could fix the vanilla armors that still show up.

 

Maybe i should split the AE-Update before it becomes too big for my taste...

I have been following the guide and i have finished until the "PC" part of the guide but i have a problem. After finishing with "PC" i did a test run and the hair is stretched and when i start to change something(mainly the hair) the game crash, is this going to fix by itself following the guide or did i do something wrong?

You're missing the physics for the hair. Just continue...

Yeah, sorry about that, i was following the advise of testing after every part of the guide, i was scared of continuing, sorry again

Nah, it is stuff like this that can only make the guide better. Sometimes i forget that 'obvious to me' is different from 'obvious to others'. ?

Good point. The best way to test a system is to pay attention to someone who is new to it.

Hi everybody. Wanted to give a huge thank you to Aylis and the community for helping huge dinguses like me to build a beautifully modded skyrim. I'd be lost without y'all so thank you so much!

Speaking of being lost, I recently updated my modlist to AE following this guide and everything works beautifully EXCEPT I'm getting this odd textural glitch on ground covers around larger rocks. I've double checked, fiddled, and enabled/disabled  everything that I can think of for hours, but for the life of me, can't find the source. Could anyone maybe point me in the right direction as to what may be the culprit from Aylis' list? Maybe I've done something extra silly?

Looks like some textures are in the wrong order and get overwritten.

 

Add this just above of 'RBT' in 'Patches':

Texture Patch.7z

 

Personally i don't need it (looks fine here). Should i readd it to prevent problems like this? I hate uploading bigger files as they take forever. And compression is never good for textures...

Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately it doesn't seem to have done the trick, unless I needed to rerun texgen for it to take effect? Otherwise if you think it's an overwriting issue I will try to comb through my list and see where I made an error. Thanks again!

Looking at the pics there are a few things coming to mind:

1. The rocks are too shiny. So the mesh and the textures don't work together.

2. The mismatching ground is a texture that doesn't blend with the underground (which it definitely should).

3. I don't recognize the texture... Which i should as i had problems with exactly those areas.

 

Try disabling 'Granite Mountains for Majestic Mountains'. I don't use them anymore and will remove them later from the guide. 'MM' isn't perfect, but i found out that the supplied basic textures are surprisingly good on their own.

 

Almost forgot: the rocks in the armor previews are using the basic textures from 'MM'.

After taking everything apart and going through mod by mod it seems that The Omnibus - Terrain Complex Parallax AIO was the culprit for the wacky textures. I'm not really certain why or how to fix it but that seems to be the case. 

 

Oddly for some reason using the ground cover textures for Skyrim 3d Landscapes fixes the terrain seams, but obviously introduces the spiky rocks.

FYI there is a mod that exposes possible infinite loops retained in the save files with dragon souls not absorbed.  It's Dragonactorscript infinite loop fix.  I found two of them in my saves from dragons killed while flying that landed somewhere over some mountains.  I never found them once they went out of sight in the mountains.  Right now, I'm just deleting them from the saved game using "ReSaver".

 

This is also included in the "Unofficial Skyrim Modder's Patch - USMP SE", which I didn't see in your list, or I missed it.

 

If "Unofficial Skyrim Modder's Patch - USMP SE" is not to be included, I'd like to understand why so I don't load it once I get around to rebuilding using you list.

You could test this:

 

Install Skyland Landscapes Parallax at the bottom of your textures, or at the very bottom for now. It worked for me to get rid of the spiky ground issue, at least. At any rate, it won't hurt anything. Aylis is the absolute master at this stuff, though!

Thank you for the suggestion! Skyland Landscapes Parallax fixes the odd ground seams I was having near rocks however it ironically does away with the ground parallax textures for me. I really must have done something odd to bork things up this much, but I really appreciate the help.

Depends on your system. Here, with seasons, its roughly three hours.

We change so much in the landscape that those errors are normal (and we can't do much about them). It will work anyway...

I ran into a couple dyndolod texture errors in Morthal today.

 

1) the inside wall texture on the bridge towards the sawmill. both left and right side. flickering between 'ok' and '120p res'

 

2) some of the roof gables (i.e. the inn). bad flickering when turning. a little less flickering if I just move past.

Update to 0.9.14

 

Integrated most of the patches for 'Full AE' and some improvements. I also fixed some seams that were introduced before (there are still some, but i got an idea how to fix those too). 

 

RERUN

You have to rerun at least the third part of DynDOLOD. The textures are close enough that you might be able get around rerunning the first step.

 

Make sure that the unofficial patchfile for CCC (in 'Foundation') is up to date and rerun 'LUX' and 'LUX Orbis'. Otherwise you'll get flickering textures and/or issues with objects. 'LUX' tends to sort of 'rebuild' parts of mods and can be the cause of problems.

 

Note

I included all the required files for the new body setup. This way they are easier to get.

It is only needed for the generation of the files.

It will take a while, but there will be a follow-up. I was pushing this one now as i wanted to include the landscape fix and the whole thing was already getting too big for my own taste.

This is a framework. It alone can't show anything.

 

Have you activated and configured the widgets add-on?

I didn't change anything here and it worked ootb. Is the player widget active?
