Skyrim AE for Beginners - V 3.1.0

Hi!

Thanks for all the effords made on compiling this huge intallation method! It seems that i cant find a wet function redux version for Skyrim AE.

So, because i really want to use this mod, if i downgrade my Skyrim 1.6 to 1.5.97.0 with the unofficial downgrade patcher, will the mods of the first page work so as to be able to use the wet functionredux mod too? Is this what you mean with "This is the reworked version of my 'Skyrim SE for Beginners' for the newest version of Skyrim AE. It will also work with an updated version of Skyrim SE from STEAM (aka Skyrim AE Light). " comment of the first page?

Thanks in advance!

P.S.: Sorry if this has been asked multiple times but i cant seem to find a F.A.Q. section

@Aylis Have you seen this mod?

Yep, it doesn't change much in comparison to what we have now.

In the beginning i tried the downgrade but it broke quite a few mods. So the guide is for everyone who has the newest version from STEAM even if they didn't pay for the CCC (aka non-paying user is 'AE Light' and paying user is 'Full AE').

Wet function has always been (even on SE) a bit wonky. I will take a look at it later as i'm not too happy with some effects of RASS. But it will need quite a few patches and its LO will be hard to get to work (already read about a few problems with it).

57th rerun of DynDOLOD finished. Now lets see if my work of the last two weeks really works out...

With and without DynDOLOD the standard map it is looking good - with 'A Clear Map of Skyrim and Other Worlds' installed it breaks the visuals again. *sigh*

Its water supposed to look like this? what did i do wrong? what mod can it be? we have no mod that its named water or anything

also: how i can make so the Black Bands on the top-bottom of the screen get a bit smaller? I know its part of the ENB but its a bit too much.
i also cant find the mod responsable for making my entire UI to be missing unless i run/take dmg

@Jessica_Degurechaff I had that issue and resolved it by tweaking the load order. I hadn't noticed but when updating some of the mods things got a bit out of order and caused funky stuff. Green fog and buildings that only appear when you look at them from certain angles were two of the fun ones.

Id suggest double checking your load order and make sure nothing accidentally got pushed to the bottom when being updated.

Not sure if it will be useful to anyone but going to share the spreadsheet I made of this list that helps me keep track of my load order. Please keep in mind that my order is NOT definitive, that it's just what I have found works for me.

Excuse me for asking again, about the LOD Mesh Fixes for DynDOLOD from the foundation section, what options am i supposed to choose?I don't see any of them listed further down the other sections (the options are Cities of the North-Morthal, RedBag's Rorikstead, Bright Waterfall fix for ENB (only the dyndolod part of that mod is supposed to be installed, not the actual mod as i understand it...) and Rodryk's Dragon Bridge (Parallax or Non Parallax)).

If i dont choose any any of the options, LOD Mesh Fixes for DynDOLOD only installs a meta file, which is nothing.

Is there a way to download your spreadsheet?.

@pgrm

When you install it you have only one mod in its FOMOD installed: Bright Waterfall Fix.

So you'll only need this patch and nothing else...

Tips and Tricks

'Windows Defender' and 'Nemesis'

  Reveal hidden contents

Open Settings > Update & Security > Windows Defender

Open Windows Defender

Go to 'Virus & Threat Protection'

Click 'Manage settings'

Scroll down and click 'Add or remove exclusions'
Add an 'Exclusion'

Click 'Process'

Type: "Nemesis Unlimited Behavior Engine.exe" without quotes.

Resolution of Textures

Generally it is a good idea to have a better resolution for things you constantly see or get close to. Armors, weapons and skin are constantly visible so a higher resolution is advisable. On the other hand it makes no sense to use 4K for coins. Wasting system ressources for a negligable effect on something of this size.

My recommendation would be:

Mountains/Rocks         : 4K+ (Standard is 8K with MM)

Landscape                    : 2K

Armor/Weapons          : 4K

Skin                              : 2K+

Architecture                 : 2K+

Small objects               : 1K- (depends on size)

Sorting Plugins

  Reveal hidden contents

Plugins are always in the order that their respective mods appear from top to bottom in the list (so start at the top and enable the first, download the second, enable it, and so on). Exceptions to the rule are basically:

1 - Every plugin in bold goes to the top of the plugin order (and then respective of each other bold plugin in the order they would appear top to bottom in the list)

2 - This list says to move a plugin

3 - You run Wrye and it gives you an error about mismatched plugins. That just lets you know that a plugin needs to come after another one in the list. You shouldn't run into this unless you've missed something.

4 - When you enable a mod, it enables multiple plugins. Here you just need to use common sense as far as which should go first (i.e., for KS Hairdos MP the main plugin would go before the wig one, or in SOS the main plugin would go before the dick plugin).

hi, DynDOLOD is spitting out: "No plugins found in data folder" got a fix for this?

I just found the culprit!

I always thought there was something wrong with the creation of the LOD. The distant mountains were too bright and that vanished when you got closer to them. I reran DynDOLOD several times with different configurations, tried all available patches i could find, to fix that but nothing really helped.

To cut it short 'Seasonal Landscapes' was interfering. It looks like some of the textures are not completely working with parallax and caused the issue. Adding the new texture pack below 'Seasonal Landscapes' seems to finally fix the problem.

And the standard map is finally looking fine too.

Make sure you added '-sse' as an argument for the use in MO2.

No, we have to overwrite it with 'The Omnibus - Terrain Complex Parallax AiO'. I'm just rerunning DynDOLOD to make sure everything works as it should before i can release the planned update.

Imgur doesn't work here. It is better to just post an image here (but put it into spoilers).

You almost got it. ;)

Now just put the pic into the spoiler. :)

Are the mods you installed showing up in the right side of MO2?

Similar to this:
