Yeah, except I was on step 1 at the time. Instructions didn't really say you had to use xLODGen first. 

 

Currently trying to figure out why texgen keeps hanging on a creating a dirt dds

Running into a strange problem with Texgen that i'm kind of beating my head on.  The Texgen goes for about 5-6 minutes hanging on the same line.

 

[06:14]     Creating D:\Dyndolod output\textures\dlc01\lod\icewall01lod.dds from 2 textures

 

Been looking around trying to figure out what mod could be causing the problem, but Texgen is not throwing any errors that I can find, and, eh, can't figure out how to kick start the dang thing again. Any thoughts?

not sure if it applies to you @asebw but I have to completely shutdown my antivirus each time I run dyndolod else stuff goes horribly wrong ?‍♂️

t'was a fun week to investigate that particular issue ?

Added a comment about AV to the instructions of DynDOLOD (could have sworn i already added that before ?).

I'm also looking into a different solution for Windhelm. I've just entered the underground of Windhelm and those locations are really bad. I hope it is caused by the 'Grey Quarter Patch' as this would be much easier to fix. Yep, thats the one implementing those.

 

I may have found a way to simplify the installation a bit more. So far The Omnibus - Terrain Complex Parallax AiO looks very promising and could replace  roughly (still testing) 6 mods.

Anti-virus is not the issue here I think. It's never given me an issue with Texgen or DynDOLOD in the past. Also, as far as I can tell Texgen and texconv are running without an issue. Just something is causing the process to grind to a halt as soon as it hits that file. My first thought is that it's running into a file of some sort it's not liking, but I'm not sure what it could be because Texgen isn't throwing any errors that I can find.

Found the solution:

It can happen that the enb-cache isn't working for the game anymore. This usually happens after an update or changes to the settings. Deleting the content of the cache folder forces the creation of new files that then 'fit' again. 

 

 

 

Interesting, I will see if I can get my enb-cache working. I went to clear the folder but did not find the folder to even exist. I did add the line to enable cache so looks like I have some more poking around to do to figure out why its not building. Thanks for figuring that out!

@darqonus I have the same problem with terrain textures and don't have the enb cache folder either, after a little bit of googling i found out that from the enb version 0.484 the cache is not generated. From the enb author page v0.484: Removed shader caching functionality as it not works because of some skse plugin or mod manager which replaces file access functions.

I wonder if clearing out the Nvidia cache would help. Going to try that next but I already scrubbed my main Skyrim folder to give that a fresh start so waiting on the download right now. Will update if I find anything tho.

Strange... I deleted the files yesterday and they got recreated with V0.484.

I have 0.488 enb version and this is what happens...

This is my skyrim folder, enblocal.ini and enbseries.ini (i downloaded it from the first page):

Has anyone run into a problem with Nature of the wild lands and texgen/dyndolod? Seems like two of these files are causing my texgen issue.

 

EDIT: scratch that, apparently it's one of several mods that may or may not be related to the problem...

a) it really really with cherry on top needs a new game to function somewhat properly

b) there is still a lot of weirdness happening (i.e. works fine with mod a and works fine with mod b, crashes if you have mod a and mod b)

c) a lot of mod authors that have frankensteined something into regular sexlab would have to find a new solution

 

Currently I would not recommend unless you like tinkering with your modlist more than actually playing.

 

Now once the author eliminates the need for SLAL it will be much more interesting.

I am currently running it in my SL load order without issue. I cannot say I have exhaustively tested every aspect of SL but I have not run into anything obvious just yet. As for the Anim Searcher ya that breaks things badly if used with it where as the Grass Patch seems to work fine for me along with it.

Which grass patch? The only conflicts I'm seeing are with other sexlab mods like slso and the lip sync fix.
