Skyrim SE or Fallout 4?

Recommended Posts

Hey there all!

It's been a few months since I took a crack at modding a bethesda game and I want to get a decent NSFW load order set up again. Only problem is I can't decide on Fallout 4 or Skyrim SE. I don't know how the NSFW modding scene for these games has changed since I stopped playing them around April or May.

Any thoughts, and suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :)

(Also which one "looks" better?)

Fallout 4 is better and worse.  Worse only because the protagonist is voiced, so almost any interaction requires fuzdora or voice duplication.

SE via Sexlab or Flowergirls is well documented and fairly easy.

SE has more mods. They're more up to date, usually being worked on even now. FO4 has a bunch of mods that seem pretty much abandoned. There's a few diligent modders in this community keeping things going, though.

I think you would have to have both or you will regret it. Definitely.

If you literally had to choose one or the other with a gun to my head I'd say SSE though. Because:

 -SMP

-Thousands of good sex animations (I'm currently making FO4 anims though to try to help out in that area)

-Probably many more sexy outfits with SMP support

If there was a good physics solution to Fallout 4 and a new animations pack it might tip the balance that way a little.

Another problem I see with FO4 is that Starfield is coming soon which I think will simply end FO4 but not Skyrim.

As much as I'd love to say Fallout 4
I love Fallout 4 because you can make modern slutty girls without it breaking lore and setting lmfao
the game is just so poorly optimised, that I see why the game hasnt had a mod revival
Theres this Korean streamer who has smooth FO4 modded gameplay, however he's on i7 processor
Im on i5 and a 3060ti graphics card, and it constantly buffers (with the loading screen symbol and blurry screen)

Skyrim on the other hand... has so many good optimization mods that dont take away from the graphics, amazing soft physics for characters, plenty of mods, and active community

I have not done adult content beyond some body replacers for Fo4.

Skyrim SE has a good selection but honestly really have not gotten around to it with SE,

The combat overhauls, new animation behavior frameworks...

True Directional Movement, oh man its amazing playing with a controller in 3rd person!

Better third person selection, finally pick stuff up without fuss in 3rd person.

Crazy Crazy Crazy martial arts combat animations available for skyrim now and all that stuff works with Ordinator....

Its a whole other combat game now.

Normally I would  say SSE, but FO4 has Nuka Ride, which in itself is worth a dedicated playthrough. I have never played FO4 before, on my first playthrough not so long ago I went with this mod and after completing it (the mod's storyline that is, not the game), I will never play FO4 again. Nuka Ride made it obvious what a great RPG FO4 could have been but is not.

I went back to Skyrim afterwards simply because mod-wise it has much more to offer than FO4 will ever have. Unless you're a gun nut and want your daily fix of 1911.

Now I wish Skyrim had an equivalent of Nuka Ride.

tl;dr:

FO4 just for Nuka Ride alone.

Skyrim for everything else.

Maybe leave NFSW content out ot the discussion, when first question is, which type of game you like more?

FO4 has a very different style, and not only because of the VATS system. If you like the one more, the other one will not give as much joy.

If you actually want to play the game, that is.

Personally I bounce back and fourth between both, they're my two favorite titles - but Fallout gives me that profound feeling like "this shit is probably going to happen one day IRL" and as uncomfortable a feeling as that is - it's probably why I've spent way too many hours playing it than I'd care to admit; hits closer to home than TES. Though I also played it out so bad that I haven't touched it since late 2020 or early 2021 and went back to Skyrim SE, keep thinking about updating my mods and starting a new game though. Hah, just realized this probably wasn't any help at all - my bad.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll definitely have to check this out!

I enjoy both fairly equally but fallout is fun because, dystopian post apocalypse lol.

Make sure to get all the requirements, even the soft ones, it's really worth it for full experience.

Agree with this, lore friendly is #1 for me.

Also FO4 needs more modders, so please do FO4.

As much i'd love to say Fallout 4 is the winner but Skyrim has the upper hand in that regard in almost every way i guess.

I play both as most here probably but come back to FO much more frequent. Despite a lot of hate towards bethesdas interpretation for fallout, i deeply enjoy the setting, music and details. Roaming around with some sinatra on the radio, doing ya' thang. I love it. Last but not least, the combat system isnt the hottest out there on the market, and never has been. While in Skyrim its noticeable in almost any fight, Fallout has Gunplay that covers the lack.
But when it comes down to NSWF mods, its easy to see skyrim has much more content, animations, physics, clothing - whatevz~

After all its been out 4-5 years longer and the fantasy setting in general approaches to a bigger audience/modders. I'd love to see AAF beeing as advanced and expandable such as SL but i have no idea if thats technically even possible.

Just bumping this thread to see if there's been any new developments as far as mods that might change how people weigh in on this, or is the consensus still mostly leaning towards Skyrim? Skyrim for the most options, Fallout for the guns game world etc.

Why an either or??

bullshit!

These are two completely different story approaches:
Skyrim - a magical medieval fantasy
Fallout - post-apocalyptic SFi

because I love both - I also play both

I'll write a multi-part story for one ... I'll of course also write one for the other at some point

I totally agree, but I only have enough space on my SSD for one or the other. until I get an upgrade that is and then yes both is the way to go.

Dem stimme ich voll und ganz zu, aber Platz auf meiner SSD habe ich nur für das eine oder andere. bis ich ein Upgrade bekomme und dann ja, beides ist der richtige Weg.

Well - you can play it one after the other - you have to write down how you installed everything

Still Skyrim.

If you already played Nuka Ride, FO4 has nothing to offer that Skyrim doesn't do, but better.

In fact, this isn't even a fair comparison. Skyrim modding is a league of its own.
